Dog walkers are urged to avoid ‘extremely poisonous’ Rapeseed fields

IT is that time of year again where farmer’s fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, also known as Rapeseed.

Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the midst of these fields to take a scenic photo, pet owners are reminded that Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is toxic to dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as Haemolytic Anaemia, blindness, damage to the nervous system, digestive disorders and breathing problems.

Dog owners are urged to seek immediate veterinary attention if their dog shows any signs of Rapeseed poisoning.
