THE last few seasons have been frustrating for Moville but their captain Ciaran Diver is pleased that things have come together this term.
Moville have been talked up as Junior contenders for the last four or five years but have been well off the pace come the business end of the season.
It looked like another underwhelming campaign might be on the cards when they lost against Convoy and Naomh Ultan in the group stages.
However, knock-out football has suited them and a one-point win over Naomh Conaill as well as a penalty shoot-out triumph against their neighbours Muff has sent them through to the decider.
“It feels brilliant. It’s ten years since Moville were last in the Junior Final,” said the 27-year-old.
“Every year we chatted about getting through to the final but we kept falling short.
“Last year we didn’t even make it out of the group which was obviously very difficult to take.
“Some people laugh at junior football but it’s a tough competition to win.”
He added: “We had a massive win in the semi-final in a big derby. Muff gave us a trimming in the league so we probably owed them one.
“The win over Glenties gave us momentum and belief and it’s about pushing on now.”
