Disappointment for Dungloe ladies in Ulster Final

Dungloe 1-13 Lavey 2-11

Dungloe ladies surrendered a five point lead as they were beaten by a point against Erin’s Own Lavey in the Ulster Junior Championship final in Healy Park.

Tony Boyle’s side were the better side in the first half but were level at the break at 0-9 to 1-6 and were wasteful with some of their shooting, while Carla Collins hit 1-4 for Lavey in the first half with a fortunate goal.

Ulitah Boyle scored a goal for Dungloe after the restart and Dungloe had a five point lead with 20 minutes remaining.

But another goal for Lavey came through a free that dropped short and Caitriona Toner was on hand to punch in.

And Toner scored the winning point for the Derry side with less than five minutes to go and Dungloe couldn’t find a reply.
