Donegal 0-9 Tyrone 1-11
A poor second half proved costly as the Donegal Under 20s were beaten by Tyrone in the Ulster Final in Clones today.
There was very little between the sides in a cagey first half and Tyrone led 0-4 to 0-3 at half-time.
Donegal kicked the first two points of the second half but they then had Oisin Walsh sin-binned.
Tyrone outscored them by five points to one during that ten minute spell, while Aaron Doherty hit the crossbar.
Shaun Paul Barrett’s men found themselves four behind heading into the final quarter, but Tyrone then got a goal from Darragh Canavan.
Donegal kept going and Padraig McGettiga, Johnny McGroddy, and Aaron Dohetry all scored points. However, Tyrone never looked like relinquishing their lead and a frustrating afternoon for Donegal was compounded when Luke Gavigan was sent off in injury-time.
Tyrone will now face Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.
