Donegal 1-8 Down 2-6
The Donegal minor team missed out on a spot in the Ulster Minor League Final after they were beaten by a point by Down in Fr Tierney Park today.
Barry Ward’s Donegal had the breeze in the first half and Conor McCahill scored 1-2 for the team as they moved eight points ahead.
Barra McEvoy hit back with a goal for Down but a great free from Turlough Carr had Donegal 1-7 to 1-1 ahead at the break.
Down dominated at the start of the second half and they scored 1-5 on the bounce with Darragh Poland converting a penalty.
Donegal went thirty minutes without a score against the strong breeze before McCahill slotted over a free, but they couldn’t find an equaliser to bring the match to extra-time.
