The reigning champions have been in control since the third stage and lead after six by 12.4 seconds.
Hayden Paddon and David Moynihan are second followed by Meirion Evans and Ger Conway in third.
William Creighton is fourth while Jon Armstrong has moved his way up to fifth and is 20.7 seconds behind the leaders.
Rathmullan man Kevin Gallagher leads the two-wheel drive category with Martin McCormick in second and Aaron McIntyre third.
There are eight more stages of the rally on Saturday.
