Paul Durcan and his Ballyboden St Enda’s team will play in the All-Ireland Club Final on St Patrick’s Day, after they overcame Clonmel Commercials in an enthralling tussle in O’Moore Park on Saturday evening.

Durcan was between the sticks for his adopted club after flying home from Qatar for the game, and they came from behind to beat Clonmel after extra-time on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-10.

The Tipperary side – who were managed by Derryconnor native Charlie McGeever – were big underdogs but they lead for the majority of the second half, and they looked well positioned when Declan O’Mahony was sent off for the Dublin Champions.

However, two points for Ballyboden in the dying seconds sent the game to extra-time, and Clonmel’s cause was made tougher when their star player Michael Quinlivan was black-carded.

McGeever’s team failed to score in the additional twenty minutes, while Ballyboden struck five points. Durcan and his teammates can now look forward to a big day out in Croke Park on March 17.
