Derby delight for Donegal hurlers against Tyrone

Donegal claimed a vital win in Division 2 of the National Hurling League when they got the better of Tyrone at O’Donnell Park

Sean Ward was in superb form in the first half and struck four points as Donegal led by 0-10 to 0-9 at the break.

Donegal made a good start after the resumption and a brace from Brian MacIntyre helped them move five ahead.

Tyrone lost Ben Gormley to a red card and Donegal took a big step towards victory when Conor Gartland grabbed a goal in the 60th minute.

Donegal goalkeeper Luke White then saved a Michael Little penalty in the 66th minute.

Cormac Munroe (Tyrone) and Brian MacIntyre (Donegal) were both given their marching orders late on but the home side were happy to come away with a comfortable victory.
