HOUSES bought for investment purposes at the height of the property boom have now been ‘abandoned’ and are a magnet for anti-social behaviour in parts of Letterkenny.
At their monthly meeting on Monday night, councillors called for action to combat the growing numbers of run-down or abandoned houses that are causing social and economic problems for neighbours.
During a lengthy debate there were renewed calls for state agencies such as the council, gardai, the HSE and owners of the houses to rid this ‘scourge on society’.
