THERE is relief for farmers following confirmation that the slurry deadline has been extended for another week.
The deadline has been extended from Sunday, October 8 to Saturday, October 14.
Welcoming the extension, Councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly said it is “great news”.
“This is great news for farmers as the weather conditions have been terrible the last number of weeks.
“I just hope now that the weather will mend and farmers will get their slurry out,” he said.
Thanking the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue, Cllr Kelly said this extension will ensure farmers get their slurry out this year.
