Down 3-9 Donegal 1-6
The Donegal minor team suffered their first defeat of the Ulster Minor Championship as they were well beaten by Down at Pairc Esler today.
Colm Ó Dochartaigh netted a goal in the first half but they also hit nine wides. Darragh Poland’s goal helped Down to establish a 1-5 to 1-1 lead at the break.
Donegal struck three points in the first four minutes of the second half but Down took over then with Poland and Liam Blaney hitting the net.
It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for Barry Ward’s Donegal, and they now have a big game against Monaghan next Saturday.
