TRIBUTES are being paid to Convoy teenager Adam McDonnell whose death has been met with deep sadness by his family and many friends.
Adam (14) died peacefully at his home at 2 Manor Court, Convoy (F93P621), surrounded by his loving family.
Adam will be forever loved and cherished by his heartbroken parents, Rachel and Neil and his big brother James. He will be deeply missed by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Adam featured in the Donegal News in December when he was given the honour of officially turning on the Christmas lights at the Donegal Hospice in Letterkenny.
He was also a popular member of the Little Blue Heroes group as an honorary Garda.
And this afternoon, his friends in An Garda Síochana, Donegal have paid tribute.
“We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Honorary Garda Adam McDonnell (HG 447) from Convoy.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, Neil and Rachel, his big brother, James and his extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
“Our little colleague, our good friend and our hero forever. Rest in peace Adam.”
Funeral arrangements
Family and friends are welcome to call to his home today, Tuesday, from 5pm – 9pm, and tomorrow Wednesday, from 1pm – 9pm.
Funeral leaving from his home on Thursday, February 5 at 1.30pm going to St Ninian’s Church, Convoy for a Service of Celebration for his life at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.
Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Adam to the Little Angels School, care of any family member or Terence McClintock Funeral Director.

His parents have asked that anyone attending the funeral on Thursday wear bright colours, as bright colours always made Adam smile.
