A veil of sadness has descended on the community of Glenswilly this morning with the news of the passing of much-loved local resident, Mary Rose Dullaghan, Cashelreagh, Newmills.
Mary Rose – or Mosie as she was known to so many – lost her brave battle with illness when she passed away in Donegal Hospice late on Sunday night.
A member of the Kelly family, Mary Rose had many friends and touched the lives of so many. She will be remembered for her warmth, endearing personality and a captivating smile.
She had a strong association with local media having worked with the Donegal People’s Press and Donegal Democrat newspapers for many years.
A valued member of staff, Mary Rose maintained strong friendships with many of her former colleagues after she ceased working with the newspapers back in the early 2000s.
She took up new employment at the Cristeph Gallery at Convent Road in Letterkenny. Her friendly personality, knowledge and the ability to engage with the gallery’s customers ensured that she was a welcome and special part of the team.
Outside of work, Mary Rose had many interests. A talented golfer, she was a member of Letterkenny Golf Club and the Drum Bar Golf Society. A game of golf to Mary Rose wasn’t just about recording a decent score, it was more about spending a few hours out on the course in the company of good friends.
She was also actively involved in a host of local and charity organisations. During her time at Cristeph Gallery, she helped organise a number of charity coffee mornings for the Cancer Society and Donegal Hospice.
Sympathy is extended to her husband Owney, their family, relatives and many friends.
