It portrays the people, places and everyday moments that define the character and community of the county.

Curated by former RCC Director Shaun Hannigan, the exhibition highlights Declan’s role as one of the most important visual chroniclers of Donegal life over the past four decades.

Speaking at the event on Saturday night, Mr Hannigan mentioned how many of the faces in the photographs are of people who are no longer with us. He said the exhibition is dedicated to them and their memory.

Donegal News Editor Diarmaid Doherty also spoke at the event. He paid tribute to Declan and the role he has played in local journalism, being a constant presence through all the highs and lows the county has faced.

Declan Doherty’s Donegal will run until Saturday, March 14.
