The group phase of the Donegal Senior Football Championship is over and it’s time to get down to the real business now.
The teams will look forward to a break and a recharge of the batteries this week and a chance to clear up niggles.
It’s knock-out from here on and you need everyone fit and ready to go.
We have had four rounds of fixtures and things have gone reasonably well.
There was something on the line in every game last Saturday, and apart from Ardara’s heavy loss to St Eunan’s, we aren’t seeing the big drubbings being handed out like in other years.
At this stage, I think it’s quite clear that there is a top two. St Eunan’s and Naomh Conaill look formidable and it’s hard to see someone other than those two winning the Dr Maguire Cup.
There is probably a gap after those two big guns, and then there are a handful of teams who are in and around the same level.
