The peaceful death has taken place at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Rose Hill (née Houton), Portaleen, Culkeeny, Malin, F93 NX89.

Predeceased by her husband Roland and her brothers John and Packie.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family circle, friends and neighbours.

Rose’s remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral from there on Thursday morning, October 30 at 10.20am for 11am requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time from 10pm to 11am.

Kathleen Lafferty, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Kathleen Lafferty, née McGee, 481, The Curragh, Killygordon F93 T3K7.

Wife of the late Dessie, mother of Serena (Sean), Siobhan (Malcolm), Brian, Lorraine and the late Darren (Mary), sister of Neil and the late William, daughter of the late Dan and Sarah.

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchild and her extended family and friends.

Reposing at the family home.

Funeral from the family home on Thursday morning, October 30 at 10.30am  for requiem Mass at 11 o’clock in St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Family time please from 10 pm to 11 am and on the morning of the funeral.

Hugh Joseph Doherty, Trentagh

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Hugh Joseph Doherty, Pollans, Trentagh.

Removal from Letterkenny Funeral Home (F92 P407) at 3pm on Wednesday, October 29, to be waked at the residence of his good friend Laura Corbett, Drumcavney, Trentagh (F92 C7X0), until 10pm on Wednesday evening.

At request of the deceased wake house will be strictly private to family, friends and neighbours on Thursday, October 30.

Funeral Mass on Friday, October 31 at 11am in St Colmcilles Church, Glendowan with burial afterwards in the family plot in Temple Douglas Cemetery.

Michael Quigley, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Michael Quigley, Ardatole, Donegal Town and formerly of Glasgow.

Mr Quigley passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 28.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Michael, Janie and Tim and their partners, his grandchildren, Juliette, Hugo, Samuel and Hugh, sister-in-laws Margaret and Sue and his many close friends, neighbours and former customers.

Predeceased by his wife, Sarah, his brothers Toni and Giovanni and his parents, Tommy and Natalia.

House strictly private at all times please.

Dolores Hughes, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Dolores Hughes (née McGloin), at the Donegal Hospice, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Sean Hughes, sister Teezie, (Charlie) Ramsey, brothers Seamus (Ann) Mc Gloin, Hugh (Teresa) McGloin, sister-in-laws Margaret (Ted) Maloney, Claire (Patsy) Etherson, brothers-in-law Liam Hughes, Enda (Bernie) Hughes and all her nieces and nephews, and her extended family.

Predeceased by her parents Hugh and Ann McGloin (Donegal Road) mother and father-in-law Bridget and James Hughes (Goland) the late brothers-in-law Seamus, Andy and Mattie Hughes.

Funeral leaving from her late residence in Goland on Wednesday October 29 at 10.15 am for requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am.

Interment in the adjoining churchyard.

The family would like to thank to all the staff at the Donegal Hospice, the staff at Cloghan Health Center, the caregivers who cared for Dolores at home, all the oncology staff in Galway and Letterkenny and all those who helped care for Dolores during her illness.

Mairead O’Connell, Downings

The peaceful death has taken place of Mairead O’Connell (née Doherty) of Baile Na Deora, Downings, Letterkenny, Co Donegal, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mairead was pre-deceased by her brother Michéal and her mum Bridie.

Mairead will be dearly missed and never forgotten by her devoted husband Damien, daughters Aoibhinn, Áine, Meabh, Clíodhna, Eilís and son Eoin, her dad Mickey, brothers Seamus and Seán and sisters Marie, Yvonne and Fiona, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law and her large circle of family and friends.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, October 29 at 11am at the Church of St John the Baptist, Carrigart, followed by private cremation.

Mary McCarron, Gleneely

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary McCarron, Drumley, Gleneely F93 RF20.

Predeceased by her husband James McCarron, her brothers Anthony and Joe Campbell.

Sadly missed by her extended family circle, friends and neighbours.

Mary’s remains will repose at her home.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, October 29 at 10.15am for 11am requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Phonsie McDaid, Tullygallan, Laghey.

Mr McDaid passed away peacefully at Aras Mhic Suibhne, Mullinasole, Laghey surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 27.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Kathleen and his brothers Charles and Dessie (Alice).

Sadly missed by his loving wife Bridie and his children Lorraine (Johnny), Paul (Eadaoin), Angela (Neil), Adrian (Ruth), Mark (Martina), Brian and all his grandchildren, his sisters Maura McGowan (Frank RIP) and Margaret Colton (Jim RIP) brother Donal (Nora), his brothers and sister in laws, neighbours and many friends.

Devoted husband, loving father, and beloved grandfather.

Reposing at his residence on Wednesday, October 29 from 2pm to 9pm.

Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town, on Thursday, October for 12pm funeral Mass followed by burial afterwards at St Agatha’s Cemetery, Clar.

Margaret Gallagher, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Margaret Gallagher, of Coolcholly, Ballyshannon and formerly of Inbhera na Mara residential unit, Bundoran.

Ms Gallagher passed away peacefully in the exceptional and wonderful care of the doctors, nurses and staff of Inbhera na Mara surrounded by her loving family.

Reposing in Inbhear na Mara residential unit, Bundoran on Wednesday, October 29 from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock for family, staff and close friends.

To repose overnight.

Reposing at McGee’s Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon on Thursday, October 30 from 4 o’clock to 6 o’clock.

Funeral to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, October 31 at 11 o’clock with service of cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan at 2 o’clock.

Donations in memory of Margaret to Inbhear na Mara residential unit c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors or any family member.

Predeceased by her parents Tommy and Mary Gallagher, her brother Eamon and wife Margo, sister Mary Jo, her aunts Lizzie, Bridget and Eileen, uncles Packie and Hugh.

Survived by her brother Thomas, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pól Ó Laoire, Gortahork and New Jersey, America

The death has occurred of Pól Ó Laoire, New Jersey, USA and formerly Gortahork.

Mr Ó Laoire passed away at his home in New Jersey on Wednesday, September 3.

Heartbroken are his wife, Lori, his children Michael (Brandi), and Moya (Leo), and his grandchildren, Wyatt and Olive. Beloved stepson of Brendan Kearney, much loved brother of Máire, Conal, Lillis, Clíona and Méabh, he was the youngest of his siblings, all of whom miss him greatly.

Gone before him on the Way of Truth are his parents Lillis and Bernie; his wife Lori’s parents, Arnie and Sue; and his beloved sister-in-law, Mary O’Leary. Gregarious and fun loving Paul is also mourned by a wide circle of extended family and friends.

Fr Donnchadh Ó Baoill, PP Gortahork, will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in Paul’s memory on Saturday, November 8 in the Church of Christ the King at 1pm.

Rosemary Brennan, Co Wicklow and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Rosemary Brennan (née O’Reilly), Glenview Park, Kilpedder, Greystones, Co Wicklow and formerly of The Burma, Letterkenny.

Ms Brennan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St Vincent’s University Hospital, Co Dublin on Sunday, October 26.

Rosemary beloved wife of Fred and loving mother of Darina, Lloyd, Michael, Orlagh, and Eóin, adored sister of Pauric, Gerard and the late Freda and Teresa, proud aunt of the late Billy, treasured mother-in-law of Ian, James, Aisling, Emma and the late Báirbre.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, cherished grandchildren Lara, Aoife, Josh, Noah, Dylan, Rhys, Eve, Emily, Lucy, Anna, Caoimhe, Luke, Ella and her mum Caitriona, brothers, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Rosemary will be reposing at Hudson’s Funeral Home, Arklow (Y14 PT80) on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm, with removal on Thursday morning at 9.30am to The Church of Saints Mary & Peter, Arklow arriving for funeral Mass at 10am, followed by burial in St Gabriel’s Cemetery, Arklow.

Sr Sinéad (Sheena) Beirne, Dublin and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Sr Sinéad Beirne (Sheena), St Louis Convent, Rathmines, Co Dublin and formerly of Stranorlar, Co Donegal.

Sr Sinéad passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 24.

She is predeceased by her parents Jim and Maud, her sisters Maura, Eileen, Lily and Peg, her brother-in-law George and sister-in-law Claire.

She is sadly missed by her brothers Vincent and Séamus, her sister-in-law Eithne, her niece, nephews, extended family, her St Louis Community and many friends.

Reposing at St Louis Convent, Rathmines, D06 KN83 on Wednesday, October 29 from 4pm to 6pm, with Evening Prayer at 5pm.

Removal on Thursday morning, October 30 to the Church of Mary Immaculate Refuge of Sinners, Lower Rathmines Road for funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery, Edmondstown Road, Rathfarnham.
