Bernadette Travers, Bundoran

The death occurred peacefully of Bernadette Travers, East End, Bundoran, wife of the late Emmet Travers, Church Road, Bundoran, surrounded by her loving family, under the exceptional care of the nurses and staff at the Sheil Community Hospital, Ballyshannon. 

Reposing at her late residence, East End, Bundoran (F94YD26), on Wednesday from 12 noon to 8pm. 

Removal on Thursday at 10.30am to arrive at Church of our Lady Star of the Sea Bundoran, for Mass of the resurrection at 11am. Interment afterwards in St. Ninnidh Cemetery, Bundoran. 

Deeply regretted by her heartbroken family: daughter, Olga, sons, Michael (Caroline), Emmet (Florence), Jerome (Dawn), Stephen (Roisin) and very close family friend Neil; grandchildren, Iarom, Nikita, Maia, Maura, Chloe and Emmet, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.

Predeceased by her grandchildren, Grace and Richelle. 

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Patients Comfort Fund, Sheil Community Hospital, Ballyshannon, to John Mulreany or any family member. 

Cara Hannon, Letterkenny

The sudden, untimely death took place on Tuesday at ICU, Letterkenny University Hospital of Cara Hannon, Listillion, Letterkenny. 

Deeply missed by her loving parents PJ and Nellie, sister, Emma Maguire (Shaun Paul), brother, Patrick (Vivienne), uncles and aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends and colleagues at the Loreto Convent, St. Eunan’s College and Lizzie’s Diner, Dunfanaghy. 

Cara is predeceased by her grandparents, Patrick and Annie Hannon, Leitrim and Charlie and Margaret Gallen, Knocknamona, Letterkenny.  

Cara’s remains will repose at the family home in Listillion on Wednesday and Thursday from 1pm until after the Rosary at 9pm. 

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube Channel.

Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Irish Heart Foundation or c/o any family member.

Olive Bustard, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Olive Bustard, Tullybrook, Donegal Town F94 H6K1.

Predeceased by her husband Bobby.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Howard (Linda), Irene (Gerald) and Gareth (Ann), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Reposing at her late residence today, Wednesday, from 2pm to 9pm.

Funeral Service in Laghey Parish Church at 2pm on Thursday followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to Laghey Parish Church, care of any family member.

Mary McDaid, Convoy and formerly Strabane

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary McDaid (née Heaney), Longlands, Convoy F93 P6KH, and formerly of Strabane.

Beloved wife of James, much loved mother of James (Lisa), Clare (Marty) and Brandon, dearly loved grandmother of Chloe, cherished daughter of Betty and the late John Heaney, and sister of John, Elizabeth, Bernadette and Adrian.

Reposing at her home. 

Funeral leaving her home on Thursday at 9am for Requiem Mass in St Mary`s Church, Melmount at 10am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time please from 10pm to 11am.

The Requiem Mass can be viewed live via the Parish Webcam. 

Maisie McBarron, Pettigo

The death took place on Monday of Maisie McBarron, née Simmons, Rosefield Cottage, Aghafoy, Pettigo, peacefully at the Donegal Hospital. 

Beloved wife of the late Jim, much loved sister of George, Winnie and the late Maggie, Kathleen, Tom, Willie John, Albert and Joe RIP. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all the McBarron, Simmons families, friends and neighbours. 

Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Pettigo on Wednesday at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.  

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to Donegal Hospital or Donegal Hospice c/o Claude McKervey Funeral Director, 22 Erne Drive, Ederney, Co. Fermanagh. Donation box available in the family home.

Raymond Gillespie, Sligo and Killybegs

The death has occurred of Raymond Gillespie, Glenellen, Cloonamahon, Sligo and formerly of Elmwood Terrace, Killybegs.  

Predeceased by his parents, John Joe and Bridget, his sisters, Rosemary, Laurna and Anastasia, nephew, Raymond and his brother-in-law, Bert. 

Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends in Glenellen.   

Reposing at his niece Marina Doherty’s residence, The Commons, Killybegs (F94PX91) on Tuesday from 11am to 10pm.  

Removal on Wednesday at 11.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs for Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. 

Mary Grace McGarvey, Creeslough

The death has taken place of Mary Grace McGarvey, née Hagney, Ards, Creeslough.

Sadly missed by her daughters Bernadette, Margaret, Geraldine, Pauline and Grace, her sons, Fr.Pat, Martin, Neilis and Noel, sons-in-law, Pat, Denis, Hugh, Fergus, Paul and Michael, daughters-in-law, Mary T, Maria, and Emma, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Margaret and Agnes.

Predeceased by her husband Paul and daughter Ann, sisters, Bridie and Catherine and grandson, Martin.

Mary Grace’s remains reposed at her late residence on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.

Vincent Harrison, Mountcharles and Ballintra

The death has occurred of Vincent Harrison, Salthill, Mountcharles, F94N5X8, formerly of London and Ballintra.

He died peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Maggie and Bertie and his siblings, Jim, Dymphna, Patricia, Philomena and Desmond.

Deeply regretted by his devoted wife, Mary and daughters, Helen (Dennis Ward  RIP) and Margaret (John Patton)

Much loved by his granddaughters, Eilish, Sinead and Or​​​​​la, great-grandchildren, Ava and Fíadh.

Forever remembered by his sister, Maureen, nephews and nieces.  

Remains reposed at Tir Connaill Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town on Tuesday.

Wake at family home in Salthill, Mountcharles F94 N5X8 on Wednesday from 2pm until 8pm.

Removal from the family home on Thursday at 10am going to St Brigid’s Church, Ballintra for 11am funeral Mass followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Shaun Martin McClafferty, Gortahork

The tragic death has taken place of Shaun Martin Mc Clafferty, Baltoney, Gortahork.

Predeceased by his grandparents; John and Máire McClafferty, his aunt Cáit McFadden, and his papa Martin Darcy.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, Michael and Sharon, sister Sara, nannie Sheila Darcy, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top Letterkenny took place on Monday evening, going to the family home in Baltoney.

Removal and wake is private for family only, however, all are welcome to attend the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place in Teach Pobail Chríost Rí, Gortahork on Thursday  at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Owen Roe O’Neill, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Owen Roe O’Neill, East Port, Ballyshannon, F94 PH67, peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, under the exceptional care of the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Medical Seven Ward at Sligo University Hospital. 

Owen Roe had previously been in the excellent care of the staff at the Garden View Ward, Ballyshannon Community Hospital, GP’s at Bayview Family Practice.  

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Agnes O’Neill, loving sisters Cait and Ann, and brother, Joe. 

Dearest and most beloved husband and best friend of Maura (née Rasdale), adored father to his sons, Shane, Eoghan Ruadh, and Barry, and his cherished daughter, Louise. 

A cherished grandad to his ten grandchildren: Orlaith, Sean, Callum, Holly, Emma, Oisín, Saoirse, Owen, Joshua, and Charlotte. 

Deeply missed by his daughters-in-law, Mary, Cathy, and Lorraine, and his son-in-law, Anthony. 

Sadly missed by nieces Marie, Siobhan (David) and Grainne (Tommy), and by his brothers-in-law, Tony (Ann) and Gerard (Josephine, RIP) and their families. 

Removal on Wednesday from his residence at 10.20am going to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with Service of Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, The Rock, Ballyshannon.

 Dom Murray, Bray and formerly Bundoran

Dominick (Dom) Murray, late of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Bundoran, passed away peacefully on March 1 surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Beacon Hospital, Sandyford. 

Cherished son of the late Kathleen and Dominick, beloved husband of Jennifer, much loved dad of Jill, Chris, Matthew and Robert, cherished grandfather of Elio, Iris, Thea, Ben, Hannah, Ava and Kate, dearly loved brother of John, Bríd, Páid, Proinnsias, Eamonn, Mary, Connie and the late Joe, he will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray followed by cremation in Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W. No flowers please.

Margaret Fox, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital on Saturday of Margaret (Peg) Fox, née Leigh, Foxleigh, 34 Ballyraine Park, Letterkenny F92 NXF2. Deeply missed by her loving daughters Susan and Claire, sons Graham (Avril), Douglas (Siobhan) and Neil (Caroline), eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ann Fox (England), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. 

Margaret is predeceased by her husband John (2016).  

Removal from The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Tuesday  at 11am going to her late residence. Remains reposing there on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2pm until after the Rosary at 9pm.

John Doogan, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of John Doogan, St. Benildus Avenue, Ballyshannon. 

He died peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Our Lady’s Hospital, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim.  

Reposing at McGee’s Funeral Home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon on Wednesday from 4.30pm to 6pm. 

Funeral arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon on Thursday for Mass of the Resurrection at 9.30am followed by Service of Cremation in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan at 12 noon.
