Kathleen (Kate) Meehan, Mullinasole and Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kate) Meehan, Aras Mhic Shuibhne, Mullinasole and formerly of Duignan Ave, Donegal Town.

Ms Meehan passed away peacefully under the exceptional care of staff at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Catherine and Christy, her siblings Mary (Seamus), Patsy (Reo), Hughie (Madge), Eugene, Chris, Michael, Betty (Denis) and Grainne.

Sadly missed by her sister Anne (Mick) Athenry, her sisters in law Marie, Dundalk and Peg, New York, her brother-in-law, Brian, her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Especially missed by her dear friends and staff at Aras Mhic Shuibhne, who cared for Kate with tender love and kindness and the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa with whom Kate (Sr Anthony Mary) spent many happy years caring for those less fortunate in Zambia and the USA.

Kate’s remains will repose at Tir Conaill Funeral Home, Donegal Town F94 FX3A today from 2pm to 8pm and on Thursday, March 5 from 2pm to 7pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6 in St Mary’s Church, Killymard at 11am with burial taking place afterwards at Clar graveyard.

Paula Sweeney, Dungloe

The death has occurred of Paula Sweeney (née O’Donnell), Chapel Road, Dungloeand formerly of Killybegs.

Ms Sweeney passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 2.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, parents Ann and Paidin O’Donnell and baby brother John Patrick.

Sadly missed by her sons, Jamie (Maighread) and Paul (Maria), her two loving grandchildren Aoife and Patrick, her five sisters; Mary (Jim), Sara (Eunan), Patrice (Martin), Maeve (Francie), and Martina (Paddy), nieces and nephews.

Paula’s remains will repose at her home, Parkhead House, Chapel Road, Dungloe, Co Donegal, F94 K0T2 from 11am today.

Rosary at 8pm.

House private after rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 5 at 12pm at St Cronas Church, Dungloe with burial afterwards in Maghery cemetery.

Alan Murray, Kildare and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Alan Murray, Duncreevan, Kilcock, Co Kildare and formerly of Ballyshannon.

He is the beloved son of Aidan and Jean and dear father of Christopher (Catriona).

House private at present; funeral arrangements will be announced later.

James Slevin, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of James Slevin, The Mall, Ballyshannon.

Mr Slevin passed away peacefully in the gentle and exceptional care of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Ballyshannon Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 2.

He is survived by his children Eamonn (Anne), Paul (Christina), Brona (Sean) and Avril and his five grandchildren, Mollie, Katie, Shona, Aimee Beth and Cillian.

Reposing at his residence today until 8pm.

The house shall be private to family outside of reposing times and on the morning of the funeral.

Removal on this morning from his residence at 10.30am to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

The funeral Mass shall be live streamed on St Patrick’s Church page on www.churchservices.tv/Stpatricksballyshannon

Mr Slevin’s family are very grateful to all who looked after Jim in recent years.

Rose Doherty, Bunbeg

The death has taken place at Dungloe Community Hospital of Rose Doherty, Magheraclogher, Bunbeg.

Predeceased by her parents Kitty and Micí Eoghan Eoin, and her brothers and sisters.

Sadly missed by her daughter, Bernadette Doherty, granddaughter Shannon Doherty (Donal), great-grandchildren Dáire & Lorcan Walsh, sister Sheila (London), brothers Condy & Owen, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at her home in Magheraclogher (F92 X2W9) today until 8pm.

Rosary at 8pm.

House private after Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place today at 11am in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey.

Burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Elizabeth Mary (Lily) Reid, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Elizabeth Mary (Lily) Reid (née Kee), Bohanboy, Killygordon.

Ms Reid passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 1.

Predeceased by her late husband Robert.

Much loved mother of Robert (Carol), Edward (Anna), Jayne (Marcus), Andrew (Carol) and Sarah (Derek).

Lily will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Aaron (Tamara), Jordan, Dillon, Uná, Ciara, Niamh, Mark, Andrew, Lily, Emily, Rebecca, Adam, Rachel, Sean, Aimee, her sister Greta, brother William, nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

Funeral leaving from there today at 1.15pm going to Donoughmore Presbyterian Church for 2pm Service of Thanksgiving for her life, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Catherine McGonagle, Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of Catherine McGonagle (née Carr), Killaned, Glencolmcille.

Ms McGonagle passed away peacefully in her 91st year at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 1.

Predeceased by her husband Michael, her daughters Bríd and Angela, her parents, brothers Jimmy and Paddy, sisters Mary, Annie and Bridget.

Fondly remembered by her daughter Geraldine, son in law Tommy (Breslin) and adored granddaughter Saoirse, her sister Veronica (Conoghan), nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Removal from her late residence to St Columba’s Church, Glencolmcille for 11am requiem Mass today, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Seamus Doherty, Buncrana

The death has occurred of Seamus Doherty, Ballynary, Buncrana.

Mr Doherty passed away in Letterkenny University Hospital on Sunday, March 1.

Predeceased by his parents Annie and James RIP.

Sadly missed by his cousin’s, relatives and friends.

Funeral from McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Buncrana today, March 4 at 12.30pm going to St Mary’s church Cockhill for 1pm requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Daniel McCarthy, Maynooth and Bundoran

Daniel McCarthy, Laurence Avenue, Maynooth and formerly of Bundoran, Co Donegal, Newbridge, Co Kildare, died peacefully at The Residence Nursing Home, Maynooth, surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his loving wife Mary, parents Paddy and Mary, brothers Padraig and Declan and sister Kathleen.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Ronan, Lorna and Donal, friend Pat, daughters-in-law Sam, Aline, Suzie and Mary, son-in-law Paul, adored grandchildren Jodie, Abi, Louis and Sophie, brothers Luke, Gerard, Paul and Mark, sisters Gaye, Betty and Mary, Aunt Monica, nieces, nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Danny was the much-loved Lead Singer with Fiddlers Green and will be fondly remembered for his music, voice and friendship by all who knew him.

Reposing at Oliver Reilly’s Funeral Home, Leinster St, Maynooth (W23V99E) today from 4pm to 8pm, with evening prayers at 7.30pm.

Removal from the Funeral Home on Thursday morning at approximately 10.30am to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Maynooth for 11am funeral Mass, followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium at approximately 1pm.
