The death has occurred of Nora (Hannah) Taylor (née McLaughlin (Jackie)), Ashford, Wicklow and formerly of Ross Head, Glengad, Malin.

Ms Taylor passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St Vincent’s University Hospital on Saturday, January 4.

Dearly loved wife of Kieran and much loved mother of James, Michael, Hannah, Cian and Jack.

Sadly missed by her siblings Hugh, Eilish, Jim, Joseph, Pat, Mickey, Eamon and Alan, and by her adoring grandchildren, daughters in law, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her son Paul Thomas, parents James and Mary and brothers Seán, Paul, Robert and Benny.

Nora will repose at the William Doyle Funeral Home Kilcoole on Friday from 6pm until 8pm.

Funeral arriving at Ashford GAA grounds on Saturday morning at 11.40am and then proceeding at walking pace to the Church of the Most Holy Rosary Ashford arriving for 12 noon funeral Mass followed by private cremation.

The funeral Mass will be recorded and a link posted at 6pm on Saturday.

House private.

Hugh Ward, Kilmacrennan and Burtonport

The death has occurred of Hugh Ward, 17 Rosemount, Kilmacrennan and formerly Burtonport.

Mr Ward passed away peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 7.

Predeceased by parents Charlie and Annie Ward and sister Mary Cowley.

Survived by wife Marie, sons Paul and Aidan and daughter Sandra.

Fondly remembered by extended family members, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass in St Columba’s Church, Kilmacrennan, on Thursday, January 9 at 11am followed by cremation in Lake Lands crematorium, Co Cavan.

No wake and the house is private.

Mary Varilly, Dublin and Dungloe

The death has occurred of Mary Varilly, Stillorgan, Dublin and formerly of Dungloe.

Ms Varilly passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, January 3.

She will be very sadly missed and forever remembered with much love and affection by her heartbroken husband Gerry McNally, daughter Claire, son Stephen, Jessie, her adored grandson Cormac, the extended Varilly and McNally families, friends and loved ones.

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum D14 F3X2 on Friday afternoon, January 10 from 3pm to 5pm.

A Service to celebrate Mary’s life will take place on Saturday afternoon, January 11 at 2.30pm in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross (which can be viewed live here https://www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/)

Nancy Robinson, Newtowncunningham

The death has occurred of Nancy Robinson (née Armstrong), Drumbuoy, Newtowncunningham.

Ms Robinson passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 7.

Predeceased by her late husband Norman, daughter Helen, daughter-in-law Rickie, sisters Dolly, Audrey, Hetty, Florence, Mavis and brother Sammy.

Beloved mother of Rosemary (Drew), William, Norma (Ian), John (Ann), Judy (Mitchel) and James (Angela).

A devoted grandmother and great grandmother to her twenty grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.

Nancy will be remembered with love by her sisters Enid and Clare and the extended family circle.

Her remains will repose at her home from 2pm – 8pm today Wednesday, January 8 and 2pm – 8pm tomorrow, Thursday.

Removal from there on Friday, January 10 at 12.30pm for 1pm Service of Thanksgiving in Newtowncunningham Presbyterian Church followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu to the Donegal Hospice care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

John Antony Quinn, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of John Antony Quinn, Curraghmone, Ballybofey.

Mr Quinn passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 7.

Loving brother to Michael, Kevin, Martha (Dowden), Cassie (McCay), brother in law to Mary Rose, Rita, Mary and Norma Quinn, Matthew McCay, Edmund Dowden and Dan McGlynn.

Deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaret and also the late Peter, Patsy, Patrick James, Kevin Michael, Kevin M.C, Mary Rose Quinn and Maggie McGlynn (nee Quinn).

John’s remains will be reposing at his late residence today, Wednesday from 2pm to 10pm, all other times private including the morning of the funeral.

Mass of the resurrection on Thursday, January 9 at 11 am in Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar with burial afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.

The funeral cortege will make its way to the Church via Drumboe, McKanes Corner and down Main Street Stranorlar.

Flowers welcome, donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital c/o Martin McGowan Funeral Director or any family member.

William McGlynn, Cloghan

The death has occurred of William McGlynn, Ballykerrigan, Cloghan.

Mr McGlynn passed away peacefully in the Donegal Hospice on Tuesday, January 7.

He will repose at his home in Ballykerrigan.

Requiem Mass in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin at 10 am on Thursday, January 9, followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Rosary nightly at 8 pm with family time from after the Rosary until 11 am and on the morning of the funeral.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Bernie, sons Kevin (Emma) and Dermot (Orla), grandchildren Jack, Alex and Jessica, brothers Frank and John, sisters Anna May, Eileen and Jean, nieces, nephews, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Daithí Harvey, Letterkenny

The death took place on Saturday, January 4 of Daithí Harvey, 10 Thorndale, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by his loving mother Tamara, her partner James Buchanan and his children Leanne, Richard and Jennifer, gGranny Margaret, aunts and uncles Nicola (Garret), Kelvin (Sarah), Donnan, Odhrán (Ciara) and Caolán (Deusa), cousins and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours – Letterkenny and Tyrone.

Daithí is predeceased by his grandfather Joe (2021).

Funeral from there on Wednesday 10.30am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on the parish YouTube channel.

Interment afterward in Conwal Cemetery. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Eileen Patterson, Lifford

The death has taken place at Brindle Manor, Donegal of Eileen Patterson, (née McClure), The Haw, Lifford, and formerly of Callan, Drumkeen.

Beloved wife of the late Stephen (S). Loving mother of Linda, Gwen, Michelle and Stephen.

Dear mother-in-law of David, Ivan, Ivor and Melanie; a devoted grandmother of Gareth, Andrew, Matthew, Amelia, Reece, Taylor and the late George and a great-grandmother of Rosa and Hugo.

Funeral leaving her late home at The Haw, Lifford at 11.30am on Thursday for 12 noon service in Strabane Presbyterian Church followed by burial in Donaghmore Presbyterian Church graveyard.

Friends are welcome to visit at the family home on Wednesday from 2pm-9pm

Terence Ferry, Dublin and Dunfanaghy

The death took place on Sunday of Terence (Terry) Ferry, South Circular Road, Dublin 8 and formerly of Dunfanaghy, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff of Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (Alleguen) and loving dad of Jane and Caroline. Terry will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, Dermot, Miles, Mary-Kate, Adam, Connie and Cillian, his brother Brendan, nieces, nephews, his wide circle of family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St. Teresa’s Church, Donore Ave, followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium.

The death has taken place in Dungloe Community Hospital of Margaret Sharkey, Mullaghderg (née O’Donnell, Ranafast).

Wife of the late Pa Sharkey, mother to Bridget, Margaret, Grace, James, Aileen and Patrick. Predeceased by Pa and Grace.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Kincasslagh with interment in the old cemetery at the church.

Bernie McDonagh, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Bernie McDonagh, Lawne Park, Ballyshannon.

Mr McDonagh passed away peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 5.

Removal on Wednesday, January 8 to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for 11am funeral Mass with burial afterwards in The Abbey Cemetery.

Donal Kelly, Dublin and Buncrana

The death has taken place of Donal Kelly, Flower Grove, Glenageary, Dublin and formerly of Buncrana.

He passed away peacefully on January 3 in the wonderful care of Altadore Nursing Home, Glenageary.

Cherished husband of Ann and much-loved father of Fergal and Damian. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kitty and husband Pat, sister-in-law Frances and husband Tom, brothers-in-law Micheal, Tom, Seamus and Paul, daughters-in-law Orla and Jennifer and his beloved grandchildren Lia, Ethan, Luca, Adam and Amy, many nieces and nephews, his former RTÉ colleagues and many friends, including those in the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday, January 8 at 10am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Glenview Road, Glenageary, Co Dublin (A96 EY91), followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross.

James Harty,  Ballyshannon and Waterford

The death has occurred of James (Jamie) Harty. Newport, South Wales.

He passed away peacefully after a short illness on h December 11, aged 60 years.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Claire, née Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon.

Missed and cherished by his sisters Maggie, Sue and Anna, mother-in-law Teresa Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and all his friends.

Requiem Mass to take place on Thursday, January 9 at 1.30pm at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Newport, South Wales followed by cremation at Langstone Vale Crematorium at 3pm.

A Mass will be offered for Jamie in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon at a later date.
