Maureen Shanahan, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Maureen Shanahan (née Morning), The Shieling, Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny and formerly of Ballymagowan, Fanad.

Ms Shanahan, a retired Administrator in Letterkenny University Hospital and the HSE, passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Tuesday, July 8.

Predeceased by her husband Cornelius (Corney) in 1998.

Deeply regretted by her sister Rose Dougherty (Kerrykeel), her nieces, nephews, grand- nieces, grand-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, relatives, neighbours any many friends.

Reposing at her late residence on Wednesday, July 9 from 12 noon to 9pm, concluding with Rosary at 9pm.

Removal on Thursday morning, July 10, going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11am, which can be viewed on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.

Family time please, on the morning of the funeral.

Paddy Joe Coyle, Raphoe

The death has occurred of Paddy Joe Coyle, Gortfad, Raphoe.

Mr Coyle passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 7.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Edward (Raphoe), Marie Hickey (Mullingar), John (London), Evelyn Coyle (Mullingar), daughters-in-law and sons-in-law: Samantha, Pat, Dawn and Declan, his treasured grandchildren: Ciára, Niamh, Fiona, Gráinne, Emma, Éamon, Ultán, Áine: his dear sisters Helena Howarth and Ann Foy and all his extended family, neighbours and many dear friends.

Paddy Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Eva and sister Kathleen, may they rest in peace.

Paddy Joe will repose at his late residence, Gortfad, Raphoe F93XP48 on Wednesday, July 9 from 12pm, with Rosary at 9pm.

The funeral cortege will leave his late residence on Thursday morning at 10.30am as Paddy Joe would say, ‘one last run around the Diamond’ to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe F93 HX20 for 11am Requiem Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Rosemary Boyd, Carrickfinn

The death has occurred of Rosemary Boyd (née Barr), Carrickfinn.

Ms Boyd passed away peacefully at the Donegal Hospice surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 7.

Sadly missed by her husband Jim, daughters Lorna (Eoghan) and Fiona (Jon), and beloved granddaughter Gwen, sisters Kathleen and June(Ed), nieces, nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Her remains will repose at the family home in Carrickfinn, F94 X031.

Funeral Service on Thursday, July 10 at 2pm in St Andrew’s Church, Carrickfinn followed by interment in Dunlewey Old Church graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to the Donegal hospice if desired c/o Shaun McGlynn Funeral Director.

House private 10pm to 10am.

Patricia Kane, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Patrica Kane (née Claney), Portnason, Ballyshannon.

Ms Kane passed away peacefully in Sligo University Hospital on Monday, July 7.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband Alan, her parents Patrick and Catherine Clancy, brothers Aidan and Johnny and her sister Una.

Much loved mother of Fiona (John Feeney), Frances (Robert Hoy), Grainne (John Sheerin) and Pauric.

Grandchildren Eoghan and Colleen Hoy, nieces, nephews and all extended family and friends.

Removal from her late residence on Wednesday, July 9 to St Joseph’s Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon for 11am funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House private at all times please.

Edward Russell, Creeslough

The death has occurred of Edward Russell, Glenraugh, Glen and formerly Brockas, Creeslough.

Mr Russell passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 5.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his children Lauren (grandson Cillian), Ellie-May, Jamie, Lydia and Jesse, wife Joanne, his parents George and Mary Teresa Russell (Brockas, Creeslough) his sisters Yvonne and Lorraine (Seamie).

His beloved niece and nephew Lauryn Russell, Reece O’Donnell (Ellie) and their daughter Willow.

Deeply regretted by his grandmother Mary Gamble and all his aunties and uncles. Predeceased by his grandparents Edward and Jane Russell and grandfather Carl Gamble.

No wake.

Private cremation will take place at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan (H12 RF78) on Wednesday, July 9 at 4pm.

Irene Rintoul, Donegal Town, Wicklow and Dublin

The death has occurred of Irene Rintoul, Donegal Town and formerly of Wicklow and Dublin.

Ms Rintoul passed away on Sunday, July 6.

Beloved wife to her late husband Greg, loving mother to Jamie (Nikola) and Jenny (Anthony) and adoring grandmother to Max, Bonnie, Sam and Isla.

Predeceased by her parents James and Sarah, deeply missed by her siblings Sandra, Jimmy, Ken, Eric, Christine, all her extended family and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Irene’s kind nature touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Thoughtful, generous, and endlessly caring, she gave her time and love freely to all around her.

Remains will repose at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles (F94 X02N) on Wednesday, July 9 from 3pm until 7pm.

Removal from there on Thursday, July 10 at 10.45am to Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78) for cremation at 1pm.

Leo Raftery, Dublin and Kilcar

The death has occurred of Leo Raftery, Artane, Dublin and formerly of Kilcar, Donegal, Grove Avenue, Finglas and Semperit Ballyfermot.

Mr Raftery passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at Beaumont Hospital on Sunday, July 6.

Beloved husband of the late Pat and loving dad of Martin, Liz, Leo, James and the late Anne-Marie.

Leo will be very sadly missed by his daughter, and sons, son-in-law Les, daughters-in-law, Avril, Helena and Rachael, cherished grandchildren, brother Patrick and sisters, Pauline, Carmel, Mary, Phyllis and Josephine, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Pat and their daughter Anne-Marie and all his loved ones gone before him.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Coolock, D17FK58 on Wednesday afternoon, July 9 from 2pm to 4pm.

Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of St Brendan’s Coolock Village D05XK51 arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery, D11XA32.

Joe O’Donnell, Jersey and Gortahork

The death has occurred of Joe O’Donnell, St Helier, Jersey and formerly of Ardsmore, Gortahork.

Mr O’Donnell passed away suddenly on Friday, June 28.

Predeceased by his loving parents Bernard and Gracie O’Donnell.

Sadly missed by his brothers David McNally and David O’Donnell, sisters Julie and Marianne O’Donnell, his nieces and nephews, Fionn, Naincí, Gracie, Úna, Sally, Maureen, Daphne and Oscar, brother and sister in laws, Brian, John and Abi, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and a wide circle of friends in Jersey and Donegal.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
