Moira Whoriskey (née Gallagher), Derrybeg

The death has taken place at St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin of Moira Whoriskey (née Gallagher) of Stranacorkra, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her parents; Donal and Gracie and her brother Owenie.

Sadly missed by her husband Charlie, daughters, Karen (Andrei) and Emma, sons, Neil Paul (Laura) and Stephen, sisters, Noreen, Grace and Margaret, brothers, Daniel, Henry, Paul and Sean and extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at her home in Stranacorkra (F92 F5P3) tomorrow (Thursday) and on Friday, January 8 from 12pm to 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm.

House private after Rosary and on the morning of the Funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 10 at 11am in St Colmcille’s Church Cnoc Fola, burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Kathleen Rodgers (née McGee), Gweedore 

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Kathleen Rodgers (née McGee) of Lunniaghbeg, Gweedore.

Predeceased by her parents Sarah and Billie, daughter Sonia, brothers John Brianaí, Thomas Bán and Pádraig and sisters Mary and Annie.

Sadly missed by her husband Jack, sons, Michael (Kathlenn) and Liam (Rosaleen, daughter Caroline (Manus), sister Brid (Martin), brothers, Ned (Gracie) and Connie (Shiela), sister-in-law Kitty, brother-in-law Joe, grandchildren, Erin and Eoghain and extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 10 at 2pm in St Colmcille’s Church Cnoc Fola, burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Áilbhe Hines, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at her home in Cashel Park, Letterkenny of Áilbhe Hines.

Deeply regretted by her family, many friends and the artistic community.

A gathering of Áilbhe’s family and friends will take place at The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92XE35) on Thursday,  January 8 from 6pm to 8pm.

At the request of the deceased a private cremation will take place.

Sean O’Kane, Manorcunningham

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Sean O’Kane, Galdonagh, Manorcunningham, Donegal, F92 F6P3.

Lovingly missed by his late brother’s wife Mary, nephew John (Michelle), niece Joanne, his brothers Matt, George, Willie, Paddy, Dan, Charlie and Brian, his nieces, nephews, and all his extended family and friends.

Sean was predeceased by his parents John and Vera, and his brother Brendan.

Sean will repose at his late residence on Wednesday, January 7, from 1.30pm to 9pm and Thursday, January 8, from 11 am to 9pm.

The funeral cortege will leave his residence on Friday morning, January 9, at 10.20 am, proceeding to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in St Columba’s Church Cemetery, Drumoghill, F92 DX31.

Mary Conlon (née McNamee), Ballyshannon

Mary Conlon, Teevogue, Bundoran Rd, Ballyshannon Co Donegal F94 X218. Formerly of Glenfin, Co Donegal. Wednesday 7th January 2026.

Mary died peacefully in her own home in the devoted care of her adoring husband Peter and her children Kathleen (Eoin RIP) Damian (Nicola) and Maria (Ken).

She will be forever remembered in the hearts of her grandchildren Aoibheann, Michael, Dearbhla, Róise, Síofra, Manus, Enya and Donnacha. Along with her friends Anne and Martha.

Sadly missed by her siblings Bridget, Paddy, Ann, Charlie and her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Katie and her sister Catherine.

Her family will be forever grateful for the support given daily by her carers, Dr Garvey, the Bayview Clinic and the Palliative care team.

Mary’s generosity to her neighbours and contribution to her wider community will never be forgotten by those who met her.

Reposing at her late residence on Thursday, January 8 from 1pm to 8pm. Removal on Friday, January 9 at 11.45 to arrive at St Joseph’s Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon followed by service of interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family Flowers only, donations in memory of Mary if so desired to the palliative care team of Sligo University Hospital, care of Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors Ballyshannon or any family member.

House private to family outside of reposing times.

Jim Kenny, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Jim Kenny, Drumstevlin, Donegal Town peacefully at home.

Jim is sadly missed by his sister Mary and brother Paddy, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Jim’s remains will arrive to St Mary’s Church Killymard on Friday,  January 9 for 7pm to reside over night.

Jim’s requiem Mass will be on Saturday, January 10 at 11am with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations if so desired to Donegal Solace centre in memory of Jim care of any family member or Faulkner Undertakers.

Declan McColgan, Dublin and Inishowen 

The sudden death has taken place of Declan McColgan late of Old Court Avenue, Firhouse, Dublin and Keady, Iskaheen, Donegal.

Declan will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his wife Mary, his children Oisín and Lauren, and their partners Lisa and Richard, his sisters Geraldine, Eibhlin, Veronica, Carmel, Marie, Brenda, Fiona, and Caroline, his brothers and sisters in law, his nieces and nephews, his aunt Suzie, and his extended family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.

Predeceased by his parents Denis and Sadie McColgan and his brothers Peter and Kevin.

Wake and funeral arrangements to be confirmed later.

Stephen McCahill, Ardara

The tragic death has occurred of Stephen McCahill at his home in Beagh, Ardara, F94D1W9 on January 5.

Stephen will be greatly missed by his heartbroken family. Forever cherished husband to Marietta, loving father to Gemma and Steven, adored father-in-law to Lauren, doting grandfather to Marykate, devoted brother and brother-in-law to Peter, Angela, Patricia (John), Desmond (Rose) and Bridie, and beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by his parents Eileen and Packie and his brother Micheal.

Stephen will be sadly missed by the wider McCahill family, his much-loved Corner House family, his large circle of friends and neighbours, and everyone who benefited from his tireless work to help the communities of South West Donegal. Stephen’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

His remains will repose at his home on Thursday morning, January 8 from 11am to 9pm and on Friday, January 9 from 11am to 9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning, January 10 at 11.30am for 12noon requiem Mass in Church Of The Holy Family, Ardara with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family home private on Saturday morning.

People attending the wake are advised to park at Ardara GAA pitch or the Dolmen Centre Kilclooney were shuttle bus will be in operation.

Peter McMahon, Ballintra

The sudden death has taken place of Peter McMahon, Ballymagroarty, Ballintra, at Sligo University Hospital.

Pre-deceased by brothers, John, Seamus, Eugene, Brian, Kevin and Oliver, sisters, Theresa and Eileen.

Beloved husband to Mary and loving father to Marie, Damien, (Yvonne), Louise (Adrian), Denise (TJ) and Peter (Joan). Loving Grandad to his Grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother to Noel (Roslea) and Mary (Coventry). Fondly Remembered by his brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and his many neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the family home in Ballymagroarty, F94 P9H2, from 10am this morning.

Removal on Thursday morning to St Brigid’s Church, Ballintra for 10am funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in St Tierney’s Graveyard, Roslea, Co Fermanagh BT92 7PU arriving approximately 12.30pm

Seamus O’Malley, Glenties

The death has occurred of Seamus O’Malley, Glenties, formerly of Rosmuc, Galway.

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Maud. Sadly missed by his beloved wife Bernie, his sons Michael (Deirdre), James, and John (Megan), grandchildren Rose, Charlie, Kate, and Kayden. Brothers and sisters Tomas, Máire, John, Brid, Catriona, Michael, and Proinnsias, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his late residence today from 11am to 9pm.

House private after 9pm for family prayers.

Requiem Mass on Thursday, January 8 at 12 noon in St Connell’s Church, Glenties with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral.

Don McCrossan, Carrickmacross and Raphoe

The peaceful death has taken place of Don McCrossan, Corryagan, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Raphoe, after a short illness, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in the dedicated care of all the team and with his family by his side.

Predeceased by his darling infant daughters, Deborah and Mary, his grandson, baby Adrian, parents, Mary Ann and William McCrossan, brothers, Mickey, Pat, Liam, Tommy, Eddie, Sean and Barney; sisters, Susan, May and Lizzie.

Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Kathleen, his son, Adrian and daughter-in-law, Kathryn, his cherished and adored grandchildren, Jonathan (Natasha) and Lauren (Jack), his precious and so loved great-grandchildren, Layla Rose and Lorcán, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence.

Removal privately on Thursday morning from his residence to St Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne for requiem Mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Bríd Heffernan, Factory Road, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Mary Mc Ginley, husband, Tommy, daughter, Sharon and her mother and father in-law, Mary and Charlie Campbell.

Sadly missed by her daughters, Mary, Paula (Declan) and Bríd Anne (Colm), sons, Tommy, Martin, Patrick (Karen) and Eamonn (Sinéad), sisters, Eileen, Nora and Nan, brother, Eamonn, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Her remains will repose at her home (F92 E1X9) today from 12pm to 8pm.

Patricia Gallanagh, Buncrana

The peaceful death has taken place of Patricia Gallanagh, (née Fullerton) Blackfarm, Buncrana F93 FV48.

Deeply saddened by her passing are her loving husband, Paddy, daughters, Caitríona, Anne, Jennifer, Gemma and Gráinne; sisters and brothers, the wider family circle and Patricia’s many friends.

Patricia’s remains will be reposing from her late residence where all are welcome to come and pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.15am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am requiem Mass with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
