The death has taken place February 2nd 2026 at Altnagelvin Hospital of Rita Boyle (née Lafferty) 2 Olympic Drive, Strabane and formerly of Ballindrait.

Beloved wife of the late Mickey, much loved mother of Michael (Una), Christine, John (Margaret) and Martin (Gertie), dearly loved grandmother of Ciarán, Kevin, Aodhán, Sarah-Jane and Rachel.

Loving great grandmother of Alannah, Rosa, Maeve, Norah and Yoshi and sister of Sean, Maureen, Susie and the late Anna, Charlie and Liam.

Remains reposing at her home.

Funeral leaving her home on Wednesday, February 4 at 9.25am for requiem Mass in St Mary`s Church, Melmount at 10am.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughter, partners, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, sisters and family circle.

Donations in lieu of flowers please to St Vincent de Paul c/o Quigley Funeral Directors, Newtown Place, Strabane.

Family time please from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

John (Dessie) Rooney, 4 Green bank cottages Quigley’s Point (Formally Tullagh, Clonmany)

The death has occured of John (Dessie) Rooney, January 31, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Beloved husband of Eilish. Loving father of John, Meletia, Eamon, Michelle, Kayrena and the late Kevin.

Much loved grandfather and great grandfather.

Beloved son of the late Martin and Madge (formally of Pennyburn, Derry), brother of Maureen, Ann, Madeline, Irene, Dermotte, Martin and the late Marjorie and Eamon.

Dessie is now reposing at his family home, 4 Green bank cottages Quigley’s Point, (Formally Tullagh, Clonmany)

Funeral from there this morning at 10am to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by all his family and everyone that knew him.

If wished, donations in lieu to Oncology unit at Letterkenny University Hospital c/o any family member.

Noeleen Brennan (née McCole), Ardara

The peaceful death has occurred of Noeleen Brennan (née McCole), Hillhead, Ardara, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Josie and devoted mother to Annmarie (Liam), Pauric (Annmarie), Joseph (Sharon), Adrian (Emer), Declan (Ruth) and Angela (Ronan).

A much-loved and cherished grandmother to her nineteen grandchildren.

Noleen will be sadly missed by her sisters Annie, Fidelma, Bernadette and her extended family.

Predeceased by her parents Dan and Nan McCole, her sister Margaret Mary and her brother John.

Her remains will repose at her home today from 12pm to 9pm.

Requiem Mass will take place at 12pm on Wednesday, February 4, in the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Funeral Mass can be viewed on MCN media church of the holy family Ardara.

Sally Houston (née Hughes) of Colehill, Newtowncunningham

Sally died peacefully in care of the staff in Daleview nursing home, surrounded by her family in her 102nd year.

Predeceased by beloved husband William (Billy) Houston (June 2018).

Loving mother of Selena, Helen, Gerald, Brendan and Paul. Devoted grandmother and great- grandmother. Deeply loved by her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass will take place in All Saints Church this afternoon at 12 pm, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

In accordance with Sally’s wishes, bright colours may be worn at her funeral.

Adrian McHugh, Derrybeg

The death has occurred at Letterkeny University Hospital of Adrian Mc Hugh, Gweedore, Donegal and Galway City.

Predeceased by his father; Tony Mc Hugh. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his mother Sheila and sister Regina and extended family and friends.

Adrian’s funeral Mass will take place this morning at 11am in St Colmcille’s Church Cnoc Fola (F92 D586), interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Ita Kernan, Newtowncunningham

Ita Kernan of Killester, Dublin, and late of Newtowncunningham, on January 28, in the loving care of the staff at the Sacred Heart Residence, Sybil Hill Road, Raheny.

Beloved sister of the late Frankie and Eileen.

Sadly missed by her loving sister Maureen, brothers Seamus and Anthony, sister-in-law Irene, her many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Requiem Mass this morning at 10am in St Brigid’s Church, Killester, followed by a short service in the Seafield Room at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home at 12 noon.

Lawrence O’Toole, Killybegs

The death has taken place of Lawrence O’Toole of Finglas and Killybegs, in the loving care of his family and the Palliative Care Team of the Mater Hospital.

Lawrence, beloved son of the late Mary and Francis, loving brother of Brendan, Elizabeth, Mary, Rita and Bridget.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his brother and sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Removal this morning from Fanagan Funeral Home, Church Street, Finglas to St Canice’s Church, Finglas arriving for 11am requiem Mass followed by cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium.

The family wish to sincerely thank the carers, especially Mary and Thomas, from Finglas Home Care who were so kind and caring to Lawrence in recent years.
