Ciarán Gillen, Carndonagh

Francie Murphy, Donegal Town and Leitrim

The death has occurred of Francie Murphy, 15 O’Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal Town and formerly Kilbeggan, Westmeath and Kinlough, Leitrim.

Mr Murphy passed away peacefully in Donegal Community Hospital on Monday, May 26. Predeceased by his loving wife Nora, sons Charlie and Kevin, daughter Sharon. Sadly missed by his sons Francis, Michael(Teresa) Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, Mark, daughter’s Bernie McGloin (Mark), Kinlough, Caroline, Tracy, Debora Ann-Marie, Eileen, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces extended family and friends.

Francie’s remains will repose at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home from 4pm to 9pm on Tuesday and from 1pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday with removal to St Mary’s Church, Killymard arriving for 7pm to reside overnight.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining, cemetery.

Family flowers only.

Donations if so desired to Donegal Community Hospital patient comfort fund in memory of Francie, care of any family member or Faulkner.

Jimmy McBride, Cavan and Downings

The death has occurred of Jimmy McBride, 9 Drumlin Crest, Cootehill, Cavan and formerly Dooey, Downings.

Mr McBride passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his caring family in his 92nd year on Monday, May 26.

Predeceased by his dear wife Eilish (2005).

Jimmy will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family, his daughters Aundrey (Brendan) and Vanessa (Hugh), his sons James (Cora) and Donnacha (Marie), his adored grandchildren Odhrán, Eilisha, Aisling, Aodh J, Cillian, Aoibheann, Shauna and Mollie, his dog Jack, sister-in-law Breda, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Also predeceased by his parents Denis and Bridget McBride, his siblings Eddie and Mary (Downings).

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home (H16 FD25), Cootehill this Wednesday evening from 5pm to 8pm.

Removal leaving his home on Thursday morning at 11.30am to arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Cootehill for 12noon funeral Mass, followed by burial in St. Michael’s cemetery, Cootehill.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu, if desired, can be made to Cootehill Men’s Shed c/o Mullen’s Funeral Directors or any family member.

Nora Higgins, Sligo and Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Nora Higgins (née Mundy), Cloonfin, Tonaphubble, Sligo and formerly of Clar, Donegal Town.

Ms Higgins passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the great care of the doctors, nurses and staff at University Hospital Galway on Sunday, May 25.

Beloved wife of Noel and dear mother of Ciarán, David, Catherine and Emer.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Rachel and Elaine, sons-in-law Conor and David, grandchildren Ciara, Aoíbhe, Áine, Anna, Emmet, Ella and Maeve, brothers and sisters Seamus, Mary, Liam, Eileen, P.J. , Kathleen, Sheila, Bernie, Kevin and Imelda, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence (F91E3V1) on Wednesday, May 28 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral will arrive to St. Anne’s Church, Sligo on Thursday, May 29 at 11am for requiem Mass with funeral proceeding to Sligo Cemetery for burial after.

Paddy Mc Laughlin, Culdaff

The peaceful death has occurred at his home surrounded by his loving family of Paddy Mc Laughlin Fildara, Templemoyle, Culdaff, F93 PH28.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Frances, daughters, Elizabeth, Serena, sons, Seamus, Patrick, Niall, grandchildren, sons and daughters in laws, his brothers James, Eugene, John, Martin, sister Sadie, Mary, Goretti, Rita brothers and sisters in law and extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his beloved son Michael, brother Mícheál, sisters Bridget & Patricia

Paddy’s remains are now reposing at his home where everyone is welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, May 28 at 1.30pm for 2pm funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time from 10pm to 11am.

Bridget Ewing, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Bridget Ewing (née Scanlon), 29 The Curragh, Killygordon.

Ms Ewing passed away at her late residence on Sunday, May 25.

Beloved wife of Bertie, much loved mother to Shaun (Jan), Sharon (PJ) Mark (Catherine), Fidelis (Tony), cherished grandmother to Matthew, Jack, Grace, Joshua, Aaron, Hannah, devoted sister of Francie, Patsy, Cicily, Peter, Eddie, Mary Ann, also the late Rose.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces extended family neighbours, and friends.

Ms Ewing will be reposing at her late residence.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, May 28 at 10.20am for requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon at 11am.

Terry Ponsonby, St. Johnston and Letterkenny

The sudden death has taken place in Spain of Terry Ponsonby, Ryelands House, Lismoghry, St. Johnston, F93 H3F8 and proprietor of Friars Rest, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Perpetua (Pep), son, Mark and partner, Rosarie, daughter, Davina and husband, Stephen, adoring grandchildren, Rosa, Theo, Terry, Mark and Grace, brother, Don, sisters, Carmel and Anius, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, staff at Friars Rest and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Terry is predeceased by his parents, Terry and Molly and brothers, Paul and Ted.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday, May 27 at 11am at St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny which can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny.

Interment afterwards in New Leck Cemetery.

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Ciarán Gillen, Carndonagh

The sudden death has taken place of Ciarán Gillen, Church Road, Carndonagh, at his home in Dublin.

Predeceased by his father, Patsy.

Sadly missed by his mother, Mary, his brother, Colm (Roísín), his sisters, Dympna (Gene), Gráinne (Finbarr), Maeve (Keith), his nieces and nephews, Eimear, Eoghan, Seán, Blaíthín and Daríona.

Ciarán’s remains will be reposing at the family home at Church Road, Carndonagh, where everyone is welcome to pay their respects on Tuesday from 1pm to 9pm.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, May 28 at 11.30am for 12pm funeral Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

The family home is private on the morning of the funeral.
