Nigel Lloyd, Dunkineely and Leicester

Patrick (Pat) McGovern, Bundoran

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) McGovern, Finnerville, Bundoran and formerly Glangevlin, Cavan.

Mr McGovern passed away peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 17.

Predeceased by his beloved son Paul, his parents Ann and Pat, Sister Mary (New York).

Pat is a much loved husband to Ann, adored father to Patrick (Gillian), Kelly (Paul) and Philip (Gary), much loved grandfather to Rachael, Molly, Theresa, Elli, Emily and RJ.

Pat will be sadly missed by his sister Nora, brothers Jack, Phil, Benny, Joe and all his extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at his residence on Tuesday, February 18 from 2pm to 8pm.

House strictly private at all other times please.

Removal on Wednesday,  February 19 to The Church of Our Lady Star of The Sea, Bundoran for 11am funeral Mass followed by burial afterward in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Cashelard.

Brian Connolly, Offaly and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Brian Connolly, Ballicknahee, Clara, Offaly and formerly Letterkenny.

Mr Connolly passed away peacefully in Tullamore Hospital surrounded by his loving family, friends and co-workers on Monday, February 17.

Predeceased by his parents Eileen and Brendan.

Brian will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Martina, brother Noel, partner Jenny, children Lauren, Jordan (Adam), Brandon, Katie and Emma (Dylan), Lauren and Brandon’s mother Lisa, nieces Nicole and Sam, relatives, friends, staff at the Tullamore Hospital and Tom and Gerry’s Bar.

Reposing at O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore (R35 FC84) on Tuesday evening from 4:30pm until Rosary at 7pm.

Funeral Mass for Brian will take place on Thursday morning at 11am in St. Brigid’s Church, Clara, followed by burial after Mass in the Monastery Cemetery, Clara.

Joseph (Josie victor) Boyle, Portnoo

The death has occurred of Joseph (Josie victor) Boyle, Kilclooney Beg, Portnoo.

Mr Boyle passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Monday, February 17.

Predeceased by his wife Isobel (Bella) and son Patrick Joseph.

Deeply regretted by his daughter’s Rosaleen and Catherine Grace,and grandchildren.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of rest Letterkenny on Tuesday, February 18 at 3.30pm going to his late residence at Kilclooney Beg ,Portnoo to arrive at approximately 5pm.

Funeral mass on Thursday morning at 11am in St. Conal’s Church, kilclooney with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time from 10pm until 11am.

 Lucy McCafferty, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Lucy McCafferty, 46 Admiran Park, Stranorlar and formerly of Main Street, Stranorlar.

Ms McCafferty passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at the Donegal Hospice on Saturday, February 15.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her loving partner Sam Armstrong, her daughter Amanda (Mark), her son Kevin (Megan), cherished sister of Judy, Margaret (Philip), Patrick, Karl, Nora (Sam), Liz (Eamon), nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Sheila and her brothers Dermot and John.

Remains reposing at her late residence on Tuesday, February 18 from 11am to 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, February 19 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

Interment in Stranorlar cemetery.

Victor Beattie, Raphoe

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Victor Beattie, Burnside, Raphoe.

Beloved husband of Iris, much loved father of daughter Melanie (Michael) and son Jason, step-sons Rodney (lorna), Ivor (Louise), Giles (Teresa), step-daughter Hilary (Timmy). Victor will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, his sister Anna (Edwin) Black and his extended family circle.

His remains are reposing at his late residence.

House strictly private please at the request of the deceased.

Funeral prayers at his home on Tuesday, February 18, for family only please.

Leaving from there at 2pm going to St Eunan’s Cathedral graveyard for prayers and burial.

Everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects at the committal.

Dean Austin Laverty, Ardara

The sudden death has taken place of the Very Rev Dean Austin Laverty former parish priest of Ardara.

Beloved brother of Eunan and sadly missed by sister-in-law Teresa, nieces Thérèse & Roisin, grand nephews, grandniece and great grandnephew, his devoted housekeeper Josephine, his PP Very Rev Aodhán Cannon and fellow clergy of the diocese of Raphoe, parishioners and friends.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon in Church of The Holy Family with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Connie McGlynn, Cloghan

The death has occurred in The Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, of Connie McGlynn, (Rodgie), Rambler’s Inn, Brockagh, Cloghan, Co. Donegal. F93HR61.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Brigid, sister Nora Gallagher, (Letterkenny), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Connie was predeceased by his sister Nancy, brothers Paddy, Mickey and John.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 18 in The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, with burial afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery.

Rosary nightly at 8 pm with family time from after the Rosary until 11 am and on the morning of the funeral.

Marie O’Dowd (née Gordon), Gweedore and Sligo Town

The peaceful death has taken place at her home of Marie O’Dowd (née Gordon), of Bunbeg, Gweedore, originally of 102 Tracey Ave, Sligo Town.

Predeceased by her parents Margaret and Bartholomew Gordon.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Micheal ‘Mick’ O’Dowd, daughters; Clodagh, Loretta and Sarah Jayne, son; Marcus, in-laws; Jacinta, Chris, Colin and Geoff, grandchildren; Amy-Leigh, Ryan, Callum, Liam, Comhghal, Kian, Tyler, Brian, Cathal and Farrah and extended family and friends.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 18 at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg with interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Maureen Quinn (née Connolly), Raphoe

The death has occurred in Archview Lodge, Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family of Maureen Quinn née Connolly, Townparks, Raphoe, Co Donegal, F93 HD96.

Lovingly missed by her daughters and sons Assumpta (Liam), Anne (John), Thomas (Mary), sister Marjorie, Terence (Tina), Bríd (Gavin), Donna (Patrick), Martin (Marilda), her grandchildren Christopher, Thomas, Emer, Aíne, Shauna, Fearghal, Megan, Melissa, Michael, Rachael, Pádraig, and Jordan, Adam and their mum Jill and great- grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah and Teidí, her brother and sister Tony and Alacque, her nieces and nephews and all her extended family and friends.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Anton and Mary Bridget, husband Tommy, brother and sister Barry and Marjorie, granddaughter Bridget Marian, may they all rest in peace.

Maureen will be reposing at her late residence on Tuesday, February 18 from 12pm to 9pm with rosary on both evenings at 9pm.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral cortege will be leaving her late residence on Wednesday morning at 11.20am going to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe for 12 o’clock Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Nigel Lloyd, Dunkineely and Leicester

The death has occurred of Nigel Lloyd, Casheltown, Dunkineely, Co Donegal, F94 X625, and Oadby, Leicester, England.

Peacefully at the North West Hospice, Sligo, on Friday, February 14.

Nigel will be sadly missed by his broken hearted partner Kim Pereira, parents Angela and Roy Lloyd, sister Lindsay, brother John, extended family, neighbours and his many friends in Ireland and UK.

Funeral arrangements to follow.

Hugh Walsh, Stranorlar

The death has occurred at his late residence of Hugh Walsh, 4 Chapel Street, Stranorlar.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret, (Died, February 8 2025) much loved father to Kathleen (Iggy), Angela (Wayne), Bridgeen, dearly loved brother of Eileen, and the late Jim, Johnny, Emily, Margaret and Mary. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his, daughters, sister, sisters in law, sons in law, grandchildren Keavy, Ryan, Brodie and Mark, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral on Tuesday, February  18 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am followed by interment in Stranorlar cemetery.

The house is private.
