Josephine (Josie) Chambers, Ballybofey and Lifford

 

Tess Jordan, Donegal Town and formerly Glenfin

The death has occurred of Tess Jordan (née Mc Ginty), Donegal Town and formerly Glenfin, peacefully at home.

Sadly missed by Aidan, her son, Gary (Saphire), daughter, Tania (Enda) grandchildren, Kayleigh and Amber, brothers, Patsy, Connie, Charlie, Liam, Seamus, Peter, Michael, Johnny and sisters, Ann, Peggy, Bernie, Mary, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Tess’s remains will repose at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A from 2pm until 9pm on Thursday.

Requiem Mass will be in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town at 11am on Friday, February 20 with burial afterwards in Clar graveyard.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers to Donegal Community Hospital patient comfort fund in memory of Tess. 

Pamela Carr, Fanad and formerly Cornwall, England

The death has taken place of Pamela (Pam) Carr, née Nottle, Tonbane, Fanad and formerly St. Breward, Bodmin, Cornwall, UK.

Peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the exceptional care of the staff at Áras Uí Dhomhnaill Nursing Home.

Predeceased by her husband, Frank (2013), parents, John and Annie, brothers, Peter and Brian and sister, Rosemary.

Deeply regretted by her son, James and her grandchildren, Cathair and Dearbhaile.

Sadly missed by her aunty, Margaret, sisters, Jennifer and Valarie, sisters-in-law, Kate Gallagher and Sheila Coyle and brother-in-law, John Carr, her extended family, neighbours and many friends. 

Pam’s remains arrived earlier this evening at St. Mary’s Church Fanavolty, Fanad to repose overnight. Rosary at 9pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired to Áras Uí Dhomhnaill patient comfort fund c/o McAteer Funeral Directors.

The Mass will be recorded and shared via the McAteer Funeral Director Facebook page later on Wednesday.

Nora O’Brien, Dublin and Leitirmacaward

The death has taken place of Nora O’Brien (née Macauley), Templeogue, Dublin and formerly of Leitirmacaward.

Peacefully on Monday, February 16, surrounded by her family at the Beacon Hospital. 

Beloved wife of Tony and much-loved mother of Michael, Barbara and Ronan and the late Orla and Aoife. 

Nora will be very sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, Stacey and Rita, son-in-law, Phil, grandchildren, Liam, Meghan, Finn, Iseult, Lara, Cormac, Emmeline, Daniel, James and Owen, her brother, Pat, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.  

Reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Templeogue Village, D6W AC82 on Friday, February 20 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Pius X Church, Templeogue, D6W A611 arriving for 11am Requiem Mass followed by a Cremation Service in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium.

Margaret Martin, Glenvar

The peaceful death has occurred of Margaret Martin, Bunnington, Glenvar, at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Neil. Sadly missed by her brother, Charlie, sisters-in-law, Maureen and Róise, her children, Catherine, Mary, Hughie, Philomena, Bernie, John and Corney, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Margaret’s remains are reposing at her residence, Bunnington , Glenvar (F92TH73).

Funeral will arrive to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Glenvar (F92D897) on Thursday at 2pm for Requiem Mass, followed by burial in Glenvar Cemetery.

Rosary on both evenings at 9pm.

Sally McGrory, Rathmullan

The death has occurred of Sally McGrory (née McCollum), Newtown, Rathmullan.

Ms McGrory passed away peacefully in Archview Lodge Nursing Home, Letterkenny on Monday, February 16.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, daughter Evelyn, son William, son-in-law Barry, daughter-in-law Fionna, grandchildren Oran, Oisin, Tiernan and Dylan, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her loving husband, James, brothers, Jimmy and Eddie and sister, Ann.

Reposing at her home today from 5pm until 10pm and Wednesday, February 18 from 11am until 10pm.

Requiem Mass on Thursday, February 19 at 11am in St Catherine’s Church, Oughterlin.

Burial afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Joe McGrath, Burt

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Joe McGrath, Speenogue, Burt.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Peggy and his sister, Grace McDaid.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Anthony, Kathleen McCorriski, Charlie, Loretta Bonner, Angela Doherty, Declan and Martin, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Joe’s remains are reposing at his late residence where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Thursday, February 19 at 10.30am to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Sandra Scanlon at Newpark Care Centre, Co Dublin.

Sandra was the eldest daughter of the late Billy and Elsie Scanlon, The Bungalow, Convoy.

Sister of Gill (the late Richard), Iona (David), Hilary (Rodney).

Much loved niece of Evie and Auntie of Judith, Gemma, Gary and Amy.

Great Auntie to Marlow, Nora and Mabel.

Sandra’s remains will be reposing at Terence McClintock’s Funeral Home, Convoy, F93 WF54 today from 2.30pm – 4.30pm and 6.30pm – 8.30pm.

A service of Thanksgiving for Sandra’s life will take place in St Ninian’s Parish Church, Convoy on Wednesday at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Marie Halpin, Dublin and Malin Head

The death has taken place of Marie (Theresa) Halpin, (née Doherty), Balbriggan, Co Dublin and formerly of Crega, Malin Head.

She died suddenly on Saturday, February 14 at Duleek Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Marie will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Leo, son, Martin (Longford), daughter-in-law, Fiona, grandchildren, Thomas and his wife, Meabh, Shane and his wife, Ann, Steven and his wife, Sarah, great-grandchildren, Callum, Hannah, Clodagh, Kai, Naoise, Daniel, Tadhg, Ryhs, Ada and Róisín, brothers, James, Patrick and Brendan, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Remembering especially deceased members of Maire and Leo’s family.

Reposing at McNally’s Funeral Home, Balbriggan on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal on Thursday to S.S. Peter & Paul’s Church, Balbriggan arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium.

No flowers or Mass cards please.

PJ Murray, Killygordon

The death has occurred at his late residence of PJ Murray, Meenagoland, Crossroads, Killygordon.

Predeceased by his parents, Barney and Bridget, and his brothers, Benny and PJ, much loved brother of Seamus (Kathleen), and Bridget.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his brother, sister, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at the home of his brother Seamus Murray, Carrickmagrath, Ballybofey, F93 KHP4, today from 12 noon to 9pm.

Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, February 18 at 10.30am for requiem Mass at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill.

Interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Josephine (Josie) Chambers, Ballybofey and Lifford

The death has occurred of Josephine (Josie) Chambers (née Porter), 2 Sessiagh View, Donegal Road, Ballybofey and formerly Lifford.

Ms Chambers passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 14.

Beloved mother of Elaine (Matt), Donna (Late Terence), Mark, Michael and the late baby Garry.

Loving nannie of Michaela, Garry, Mark, Joe and the late baby Elaine and baby Keelan.

Devoted wife of Michael, dearest sister of Robbie Porter and the late Mena Browne and infant Lenny.

Josephine’s remains are  reposing at her late home 2, Sessiagh View, Donegal Road, Ballybofey F93 F4E1.

Funeral leaving her late home on Wednesday, February 18 at 10.20am (via Ard McCool) for requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

Interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.
