Patsy Toland, Ballyliffen

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Patsy Toland (Bindaree), 1 Tochar Road, Golf Club Road, Ballyliffin, Clonmany. 

Patsy was the much loved father of Mark (Rosemarie), Tricia (Jason), Paul and Steven (Meadhbh).

He was predeceased by his sister Peggy Forkan.

Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Dylan, Ciaran, Caolan, Conor, Odhran and Cormac and sadly missed by his friend Mary, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at his home where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.20am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time please from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Eamonn Sweeney, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Eamonn Sweeney, Newtown, Donegal Town, peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Sadly missed by his brothers, Joe (Caroline), Gerry (Nora RIP), Paul (Brenda) and sisters, Marie (John), Evelyn (Jackie RIP), nephews and nieces and extended family.

Eamonn’s remains will repose at Tír Conaill Funeral Home, Donegal Town on Thursday from 3pm until 9pm.

Removal on Friday morning at 10.30am for Funeral Mass in St Mary’s at 11am.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to Letterkenny University Hospital Patient Comfort Fund care of any family member or Faulkner Funeral Service.

Mick McGettigan, Carrigart

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mick McGettigan (Wee Mick), Glenree, Carrigart.

Predeceased by his wife Madge, survived by his sons Michael and Patrick, daughters Bridie, Ann, Mary and Margaret, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny this afternoon, Thursday, at 2pm going to his late residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to the Church of St John the Baptist for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Annabella McGroary, Letterbarrow

The peaceful death has taken place at her residence of Annabella McGroary, Drumboarty, Letterbarrow.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family: Michael (Catherine), Maureen (Cormac), Anna (Eamon), James (Majella), Philip, Margaret, Patricia (Damien RIP), Bridie (Kevin), John (Anne-Marie), Rosaleen (Colm), Martina (Bernard), Regina (Patrick), Veronica (Enda), and Angela; her 20 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; and extended family.

 Predeceased by her husband Philip, her brothers Pat James Brogan and John Francis Brogan, and her three grandchildren. 

Her remains reposed at her late residence on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Removal from there on Thursday going to the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Drimarone, for 11am Funeral Mass, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery. 

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Brigid McGinty, London and Glencolmcille

The sudden death has taken place of Brigid (Breda) McGinty (née Cunnea), Hammersmith, London and formerly of Cashel, Glencolmcille.

Brigid was the beloved wife of Seamus and much loved mother of Marie, Jenny and James, and grandmother to Emmet.

Greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral details in London to be confirmed.  

Theresa McHugh, Portnoo

The death has occurred peacefully of Theresa Mc Hugh (Theresa Paschal) at her residence in ‘Hazelwood’, Clooney, Portnoo F94KA43 formerly of Adderwell, Doochary. She is predeceased by her loving husband Paschal. 

Theresa will be forever missed by her loving daughter Lorraine (Shaun), her loving son Brendan (Colette) and her grandchildren, Conor, Cian, Shane, Sophie, Ailish and Aoibhe and all her relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Her remains reposed at her residence before removal on Wednesday evening to St Conal’s Church, Kilclooney to repose overnight. 

Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Care of the Aged, Dolmen Centre Kilclooney, Portnoo, c/o any family member.  

Bríd Cassidy, Carrickmacross and Burtonport

The death has occurred of Bríd Cassidy (née ward). Dundalk Road, Carrickmacross and formerly Burtonport.

She died unexpectedly on Monday, December 30, surrounded by her beloved family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. 

Predeceased by her husband Francie, her infant daughter Susan, her son Terry, her parents Patrick and Mary and her brothers John and Terence. 

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her cherished family, her son Shane and her daughters Karen McArdle and Kim Kerley, her daughters-in-law Anita and Noeleen, her sons-in-law Damien and Brian, her much-loved grandchildren Alanna, Eva, Kyle, Harry, Hallie, T-Jay, Francie, Jack, Charlie, Tom, Ríain and Fionn, her brothers Paddy and Seamus, her extended family, neighbours and friends.

House private.

Bríd reposed at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross on Wednesday.

Bríd’s funeral cortège will leave her home on Thursday proceeding on foot via the Dundalk Road, Farney Street, to St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

As a mark of respect to Bríd, ‘Cassidy’s Circle K’ & ‘Cassidy’s Tir Chonaill’ will remain closed on Thursday. 

Joseph Houston, Cloghan and England

The death has occurred of Joseph Houston, Lettershanbo, Cloghan and formerly Lettershanbo, Cloghan. 

He died peacefully at his home in Birmingham, England in his 100th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved father to Angela, (James) Caroline (Craig) and John (Helen). 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces in Ireland and England, (Mc Cool family, Hone family, Houston family) extended family and friends. 

Joe’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, January 13 at 11am in the Church of St. Joseph and St. Helen, Kings Norton, with interment in St. Nicholas Churchyard, Kings Norton. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.youtube.com/@ssjosephandhelen.
