John Boyle, Meath and Ardara

Alfred John (Alfie) Vance, Carrigans

The death has occurred of Alfred John (Alfie) Vance, Cross, Carrigans.

Mr Vance passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Wednesday, December 4.

Predeceased by his wife Maureen.

Much loved father of John (Helen), Pearl (Paul), Carol (Damian), Avril (Thomas), Alan (Annemarie), Linda (Aaron).

Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Mary, Gwyn, Michael, Conor, Lewis, William, Arona, Martin and Darragh. Alfie will be sadly missed by his wider family circle, neighbours and friends.

Removal from Terence McClintock’s funeral home, Ballyboe, Convoy F93WF54 at 2pm today, Thursday, December 5 going to his late residence.

Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, December 7 at 1.30pm going to Monreagh Presbyterian Church for 2pm Service of Thanksgiving followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Alzheimer’s society care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.

Mary (Maisie) Sterritt, Dublin and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Mary (Maisie) Sterritt (née Harris), Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly of Letterkenny.

Ms Sterritt passed away peacefully in her 95th year surrounded by her loving family in Beaumount Hospital on Wednesday, December 4.

Beloved wife of the late James, loving and much-loved Mum to Leslie, Stanley, Mark and the late Stephen.

She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her sons, her adored grandchildren Louise, Neil, Emma, Susan, Andrew, Alan, Eoghan, Ivan, Darragh and Niall, great-grandchildren Erin, Corran and Eva, daughters-in-law Catherine, Dorothy, Mary and Celine, sister Florrie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Ballygall Road West, on Friday, December 6 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired, in lieu, to ARC Cancer Care or the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Frances O’Neill, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Frances O’Neill (née O’Doherty), Upper Main Street, Donegal Town.

Ms O’Neill passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Wednesday, December 4.

Much loved wife of Bert O’Neill, mother of Ann (Chris), Tommy (Rowena), John (Norma), Pauric (Arlene), Marc (Isabel) and Bernie (James) and Nana to her 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her remains will be waked at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town, F94FX3A Thursday, 5th December, from 3pm to 9pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, 6th December, in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal at 11a.m. with burial afterwards in Clar Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Coronary Care LUH via Faulkner Undertakers.

Rose Doherty, Culdaff

The death has occurred of Rose Doherty, Main Street Culdaff.

Ms Doherty passed away peacefully at the Rehabilitation Unit at Letterkenny University Hospital on Tuesday, December 3.

Predeceased by her husband Jim, brother Jim and sister Faye.

Much loved sister of Mary, sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, brother in laws, sister in laws and the wider family circle.

Her remains will be reposing at her home.

Family time please from 11pm until 11am.

Funeral from there on Friday morning, December 6 at 10:20am going to St Mary’s Church, Bocan for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the St Mary’s Church, Bocan Restoration fund C/O of any family member or Mc Feeley Funeral Directors.

Christina Crossan, Derry and Killea

The death has occurred of Christina Crossan, Braehead Road, Nixon’s Corner, Derry and formerly of Killea.

Ms Crossan passed away at Altnagelvin Hospital, Derry on Wednesday, December 4.

Christina will be lovingly missed by her nieces, nephews and all her extended family and friends.

Christina was predeceased by her parents John James and Elizabeth and sisters and brothers Lily, Margaret, Seamus, Willie, Patrick, Daniel, Gerard, Harry, Eugene and Theresa.

Respect can be paid from 4pm Thursday, December 5, at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Oakfield, Raphoe, F93 KP0N, with removal to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Killea F93 FN12 to arrive for 6pm to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass at 10am in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Killea with a private Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Margaret McMenamin, Donegal Town

Margaret McMenamin (née Harvey), late of Clarlougheske, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3 in Aras Mhic Shuibhne Nursing Home.

Predeceased by her parents Molly and Neil, brother Neil, son Neil and daughter Patricia.

Sadly missed by her beloved husband Danny, her devoted son Danny, daughter-in-law Claire, her adoring grandchildren, Niamh, Darragh and Ciara, son-in-law Francie, nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and neighbours.

Margaret’s remains will repose at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal Town from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, with private removal to her late residence to reside overnight.

House private to family only please.

Margaret’s remains will leave her late residence on Thursday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St Agatha’s Church, Clar for requiem Mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in Clar graveyard. House private on Thursday morning to family only please.

Anne McGeehan, Kilmacrennan

The death has taken place of Anne McGeehan (née Doherty), Ballykerrin, Kilmacrennan.

She died peacefully at her late residence surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by husband Brendan (2019), parents Mary and Neil Doherty, brothers Neil, Dominic, Tony, John and Jim and sister Mary.

Anne will be sadly missed by her sister Margaret, daughters Margaret Murray, Vera McGeehan, Brenda Gibbons, sons Dennis, Gerard and Martin, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbours and a wide circle of family and friends.

Funeral from her late residence on Thursday morning going to St. Columba’s Church, Kilmacrennan for requiem Mass at 11am, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Myra Grieve, Kildare, Dublin and Letterkenny 

The death has occurred of Myra Grieve (née Gillen) formerly of Clonee, Dublin, Maynooth, Co. Kildare and Letterkenny.

Myra passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday  in the care of TLC Nursing Home, Maynooth.

Beloved wife of Brian for over 60 years and loving mother of Cathy, Seamus, Caroline, Maria, Mairead, Bernie, Dympna and the late Baby Brian (R.I.P.).

She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, loving children, daughter-in-law Martina, sons-in-law Gerry, Eamonn, Martin and Ray, her adored grandchildren Brian, Rebecca, Hannah, Natasha, Megan, Emer, Mia, Oran, Eamonn, Hayley, Zach, Dylan, Molly, Alex and Bradley and great-granddaughter Cora, her brother Danny and her sister Mena and all those who knew her.

Removal on Thursday at 1pm to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, Straffan for 2pm funeral Mass, followed by burial in Laraghbryan Cemetery, Maynooth.

Sarah Gillespie, Glencolmcille

The death has taken place of Sarah Gillespie (née Cunnea) of Renmore, Galway, formerly of Dooey, Glencolmcille, peacefully in Galway University Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband John and sister Mary.

Sadly missed by her sisters Roisin, Nora, her twin Phyllis (Danny), Josephine, Breege (Seamus), and her brothers Cornelius and Peter (Ann), nieces, nephews and extended family.

Reposing at Áras Naofa, within the grounds of St Oliver Plunkett Church, Renmore (H91 PX95) on Wednesday from 2.30pm – 4pm with removal to her brother’s house in Dooey, Glencolmcille.

Remains reposing on Thursday from 10am-10pm. House private following the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Removal on Friday morning from Dooey to St Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille for Funeral Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Eamonn Doherty, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital  of Eamonn Doherty, 2 Derryveagh Avenue, Letterkenny and formerly from Ashlawn, Letterkenny. Sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbours.

Eamonn is predeceased by his wife May, son John, brothers Paddy and Shaun and his parents Johnny and Katie.

Funeral from his sister Nuala Higgins’ residence  on Thursday 5th December at 10.30am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the Parish YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657.

Interment afterwards to All Saints Church Cemetery, Newtowncunningham.

Tiernan Doherty, Carndonagh

The death has taken place of Tiernan Doherty, 14 Convent Road, Carndonagh.

Mr Doherty passed away on Sunday, December 1.

Shocked and saddened by his passing are his loving parents Kevin and Louise. Tiernan will be sadly missed by his younger brothers Kyrin, Cohen, and Keegan. Tiernan is deeply cherished by his broken-hearted girlfriend Kaylah. Tiernan is deeply regretted by his grandparents Sean and Maureen, his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Funeral from his late residence on Thursday at 1pm going to Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh for 1.30pm Requiem Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

John Boyle, Meath and Ardara

The death has occurred of John Boyle, Silverlawn, Navan, Co Meath and formerly Ardara.

Mr Boyle passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda on Monday, December 2.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Agnes, brothers Seamus, Michael, Willie and Peter and sister Annie.

He will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Mary of 53 years, son Hugh, daughters Rosalind and Louise, grandchildren Shane, Ronan, Sophie, Seán and Daragh,daughter in law AnnMarie, son in law Stephen, brothers Tom and Louis, sisters Mary and Noreen, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Arriving to St. Oliver’s Church, Blackcastle on Thursday morning for 10am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Finian’s Cemetery, Old Athboy Road.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in The Oriel Ward in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital who cared for John with great compassion and dignity.
