Mary Shiel, Castlefinn

The death has occurred of Mary Shiel (née O’Reilly), Belalt, Castlefinn.

Ms Shiel passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Wednesday, May 21.

Predeceased by her husband Brendan (2022), her father Hugh (1971) and her mother Johanna (1982).

Will be missed by her sister in law Martha (Georgia U.S.A.) and brother in law Pat (North Carolina U.S.A.) and many nephews and nieces (Dublin, Offaly and U.S.A.), close neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her late residence, today, Thursday, May 22 from 4 pm until 10 pm with rosary at 9pm.

Funeral to St. Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, leaving on Friday morning, May 23 at 10.20 am for Requiem Mass at 11 am.

Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Castlefinn.

Sean (John) O’Keefe, Convoy

The death has occurred of Sean (John) O’Keefe, Glassley, Convoy.

Mr O’Keefe passed away peacefully at Brindley Manor Nursing Home currounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 21.

Beloved husband of Anne, much loved father to Shauna, Carol, Laura, Shaun and the late baby Pat, cherished brother of Liam, Veronica, (Vonnie), Kathleen and the late Hugh, Pat, Brigid and Pearl, devoted grandfather to Christopher, Ciara, Stephen, Mark, Jonathan, Caoimhe and the late John.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife, son, daughters, brother, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren extended family and very many friends.

Reposing at his late residence on Thursday, May 22 from 1pm, with rosary at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Friday, May 23 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s church, Convoy at 11am.

Interment afterwards in the old cemetery.

Ena O’Gorman, Bundoran and Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Ena O’Gorman, Drumacrin Rd, East End, Bundoran and formerly of Bay View Terrace, Mountcharles.

Ms O’Gorman passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 20.

She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Philomena, brothers Gerard and Leo.
Deeply regretted by her sister Marie, brothers Denis (Ann) and Michael (Siobhan), her godson Jason and sadly missed all of her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran (F94E92F) on Thursday, May 22 from 5pm to 8pm.

Removal from Breslin’s Funeral Home at 10.30am on Friday, May 23 to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

Removal from Breslin’s Funeral Home on Saturday morning, May 24 at 10am to arrive at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for cremation service at 12 noon.

Rena McClintock, Balindrait

The death has occurred of Rena McClintock, Brindley Manor Nursing Home and formerly of Swilly Valley Mills, Ballindrait.

Predeceased by her parents David and May, also her brothers Billy, Davey, Victor, James and sister Helen. Rena will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

Her remains will repose at Terence McClintock’s funeral home, Ballyboe, Convoy (F93WF54) on Thursday from 4pm – 10pm where you are welcome to come and pay your respects.

Funeral leaving from there on Friday, May 23 at 1pm going to Ballindrait Presbyterian Church for Funeral Service followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Brindley Manor nursing home care of Michelle Johnston or Terence McClintock funeral director.

Patricia Patton, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Patricia Patton, née Kyle, Greenhill, Letterkenny, F92 D23C.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Thomas, sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her mother Margaret.

Requiem Mass on Thursday, May 22 at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Connie Sweeney née Mc Nulty, late of 26, Hillhead, Castlefinn, on Tuesday, May 20.

Much loved mother of Dermot, Lana, Shirley, Anthony, Rhona, Barry, Kenna and Ciara, loving sister of Don, Enda and the late Ken and Cyril, cherished daughter of the late Paddy and Betty.

Requiem Mass to take place today at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Castlefinn.

Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Castlefinn.

Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing sons, daughters, daughter in law, sons in law, their partners, grandchildren, great-grandchildren brothers and entire family circle.

The death has taken place at the Lakehouse Nursing Home, Portnablagh of Seamus McIntyre, Ballyness, Falcarragh, formerly of Creeslough.

Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Mary, sister Mary, and brothers Patrick and Bill.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Sally, son Seamus Patrick, sisters; Hannah, Bridget and Ellen, brothers; Michael, Neil & John and extended family & friends.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1 pm in St. Finian’s Church, Falcarragh with interment afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Patrick (Pat) Sweeney, Dublin and Loughanure

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) Sweeney, New Ireland Road, Rialto and formerly of Loughanure.

Mr Sweeney passed away in the wonderful care of staff at St James’s Hospital with his son by his side on Tuesday, May 20.

Beloved husband of the late Carmel and loving father of Phil; sadly, missed by his loving son, sisters Vicky and Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Sunday from 1pm to 3pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in the Church of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Fatima, Rialto followed by cremation in The Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium arriving for approximately 12.45pm.

Aidan McNern, Dunkineely and Galway

The death has occurred of Aidan McNern, 209 Castleview, Dunkineely and Galway.

Mr McNern passed away as a result of a road traffic accident.

Predeceased by his father Eamon.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, his mother Caroline, his daughters Grace and Ciara and their mum Annmarie, his twin brother Gordan (Laura), his sister Lisa (Martin).

Sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, niece and nephews, and all his relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose at his family home on Thursday from 2pm until rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Friday morning at 11.30am to The Church of St Joseph and Conal, Bruckless for 12 noon Requiem mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr Eileen Haughey, Ballyshannon and Teelin

The death has occurred of Sr Eileen Haughey, St Catherine’s Convent of Mercy, Ballyshannon and formerly of Ummerawirrinan, Teelin.

Sr Haughey passed away on Monday, May 19.

Sadly missed by the St Catherine’s Mercy Community, Ballyshannon, and the wider Mercy Community of the Northern Branch, her brother, Sean, her sister, Brid, her brother-in-law, Cathal Maloney, her nieces Mary and Catherine and fondly remembered by her niece Fiona and husband James, grandniece, Nicole, and extended family and friends.

Removal on Thursday morning going to St. Patrick’s Church for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with interment afterwards in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Desmond Coughlin, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Desmond Coughlin, Tonragee, Ballyshannon.

Mr Coughlin passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and in the exceptional care of all at Sligo University Hospital on Monday, May 19.

Desmond will be forever loved and sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Ann, son Michael Des, daughter Andrea, son-in-law Michael McGonigle, his beloved grandchildren Grace and Callum, his brothers and sisters and all his nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Bridie Coughlin and his beloved granddaughter Keeva Coughlin.

Removal from Breslin’s Funeral Home at 1.30pm on Thursday, May 22 to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 2pm.

Removal afterwards to The Abbey Cemetery, Ballyshannon for Burial Service.
