The death has taken place of Sheila Coll (née McNulty). Sheila (Swords, Co. Dublin and formerly of London, U.K. and Falcarragh, died on Friday, January 16, peacefully at Swords Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Don. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Caroline and Michelle, son-in-law Noel, grandchildren Siobhan and Liam, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Removal on Wednesday, January 21 morning to St. Cronans Church, Brackenstown arriving for 10am Mass followed by funeral to Dardistown Crematorium.

Helen McLoughlin, Edinburgh and Bundoran 

The tragic death has taken place at her home of Helen McLoughlin,  South Lome Place, Edinburgh on September 22, 2025.  Helen was the daughter of the late Patrick and Kathleen McLoughlin. Her loss is deeply regretted by her brothers Enda and Donal, relatives and friends.

She will be missed terribly by those who knew her, may her gentle soul rest in peace.

The scattering of Helen’s ashes will take place at Dowies Mill Lane, Cramond Bridge, Edinburgh at 11am on Saturday, January 24 to which family and friends are invited.

Refreshments afterwards in the Bow Bar, 80 West Bow, Edinburgh, EH1 2HH.

Mary Ellen ‘Eileen’ Johnston, Deer Park, Convoy

The peaceful death has taken place at St Joseph’s Hospital of Mary Ellen – known as Eileen Johnston, neé McConnell, Deer Park, Convoy.

Eileen will be sadly missed and forever loved by her brother Harry (Florence), sister Evy (Robin), brother Mervyn (Eileen), niece Melissa (Ross Bell) and their son Lee. Her nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

Predeceased by her brothers Bobby, David, Willy, George, Ramsay and sister Pearl. Much loved wife of Robert.

Her remains are reposing at Terence McClintocks funeral home Ballyboe, Convoy from 6.30pm to 9pm today Friday, January 16 and tomorrow Saturday from 4pm – 9pm.

Everyone is welcome to join the family for a Service of Thanksgiving in the Free Presbyterian Church, Ballyboe, Convoy on Sunday, January 18 at1.30pm followed by burial in Raphoe Presbyterian Church graveyard.

Ann Doherty, Clonmany

The peaceful death has occurred at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Ann Doherty, GortfadClonmany F93Y5C2.

Loving wife of the late Anthony, much loved mother of Bridie (Mick), William (Maria), Joe (Antoinette), Anthony (Gillian), devoted grandmother to Ciara, Jack, Ryan, Alan, Roan, Noah, Karla-MaeDarragh R.I.P, Finn, BeibhinnSadbhCian and Conor.

Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and the wider family circle.

Her remains will be reposing at her home where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning at 10.20am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time please from 10pm until 11am.

The peaceful death has taken place at The Donegal Hospice of Elizabeth (Betty) Hay, nee McIlwaineArdsCreeslough.

Sadly missed by her beloved husband William, her loving son David (Carol), grandson Davi, sister Caroline in Australia and extended family and friends. Predeceased by her brother Kenneth (Milford) and sister Gladys (Australia).

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence today from 3pm to 9pm.

Funeral Service in St John’s Church, Ballymore on Saturday, January 17 at 2pm.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

The death has taken place o Sean Whyte, On January 14, peacefully, at Marymount. Sean, much loved husband of Sheila, adored dad of Killian and Ronan, dear brother of Patrick, Fidelis and Concepta, predeceased by his parents Brendan and Peggy.

Sadly missed by his wife and family, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd; On Sunday, January 18 from 3pm to 4pm.

Requiem Mass at 11am on Monday, January 19 in St. Columbas Church, Douglas. Funeral afterwards to St. John’s Cemetery, Ballinrea.

William (Bill) Sheridan, Galway and Creeslough

The death has occurred of William (Bill) Sheridan, Stradbally East, Kilcolgan, Galway and formerly of Creeslough and Philadelphia, USA.

Mr Sheridan passed away on Wednesday, January 14.

Predeceased by his parents John and Madge, sister Mary and brothers Danny and Gerard.

Bill passed away in the tender care of his family in his home at Stradbally East.

Beloved husband of Mary and dearly loved father of son Billy and daughters Marie and Christine.

He will be sadly missed by his sons-in-law Robert and Stephen and daughter-in-law Bernie. Bill was a very proud grandfather to Adam, Danial, Molly, Stephen, Megan, Shirine and Luke and great granddaughter Mila.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret (Glasgow), nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Suaimhneas on the grounds of the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge (H91HW58) today from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Funeral in St Colmans Church, Roveagh (H91XK29) on Saturday, January 17 at 11am.

Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Denise Egan-Dore, Limerick and Ardara

The death has occurred of Denise Egan-DoreGlin, Limerick and formerly of Ardara.

Ms Egan-Dore passed away peacefully at University Hospital, Limerick in the presence of her husband Michael and family on Tuesday, January 13.

Predeceased by her parents Tomás and Beatrice, brothers Declan and Thomas and nephew Tomás.

Denise will be greatly and lovingly missed by her heartbroken husband Michael, children Sharon, Michael and Laura; son-in-law Joshua, grandchildren Raven, KCMila and Malaysia, great grand-child Dante, sister Pauline and her husband Pauric (Donegal), sister Eileen (Donegal), brother Damien (Donegal), sister-in-law Angela (London), nieces, nephews, grand nephews, relatives, dearest friends and neighbours.

Reposing in the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Glin today from 4.30 pm until 7 pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in The Church of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, January 17 at 12 noon.

Burial in the adjoining church cemetery.

Elish McGinley, Brighton and formerly of LoughmultBruckless

The death has occurred of Elish McGinley, Brighton and formerly of LoughmultBruckless on December 5, 2025, peacefully at Maycroft Manor Care Home.

Predeceased by her parents Rose and Francis, sisters Anne, Sally and brother Danny.

Sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Mary, John, Peg, Goretti (Peter), Vera (Hugh), Brendan (Marian), Celine (Denis), Roger (Marcia) and her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brighton, followed by private cremation at Downs Crematorium, Bear Road, Brighton.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Elish in the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal Bruckless on Saturday, January 17 at 11 am, followed by interment of ashes in the family plot.

Donations in lieu of flowers to the MSA Trust care of any family member.

Caroline McGinley, New York, and formerly DerrybegGaoth Dobhair

The unexpected death has taken place in Woodside New York of Caroline McGinley, originally of DerrybegGaoth Dobhair.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her parents; Packie Owenie and Kathleen, sister Máire and brothers; Adrian (Deirdre), Padraig (Tamara) and John, nieces; KayleighAoifeCiara and Kaiya, aunties and uncle, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of friends in Gaoth Dobhair and New York.

Her remains will repose at the family home today.

The death has occurred of Sr. Brigid Mary Kennedy peacefully at St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Surrey, England on  January 7.

Predeceased by her parents, Paddy and Mary Ann Kennedy, BallybrillighanFrosses and her brothers, Patsy, Hugh and Seamus.

Deeply regretted by her cousin, Maura Woods and family, Sisters of our Lady of the Missions, friends and neighbours in Ireland and England.

Sr Brigids funeral will take place in England.

A Mass for the repose of her soul will take place in the Church of Blessed Virgin Mary, Frosses at a date to be confirmed.

The death has occurred of Imelda McLoone (née Kelly), AbbeylaneBallyshannon and formerly of Ballymahon, Co Longford.

Surrounded by her loving family at Sligo University Hospital, Predeceased by her husband, Michael, her parents, Michael and Josephine, her sister, Maisie and her brothers, Hugh, Brendan and Matt.

Survived by her children, Michael, David, Philip and Caroline, her daughters in-law, Elaine, Aoife and Louise and son in-law, Noel.

Adored by her grandchildren, Aaron, Kate, Daniel, Nicole, Emily and Conall, brother, Mike (Washington DC) and in-laws, Catherine McLoone, Catherine Kelly, Peter and Liz, Paul and Marie, nieces, nephews, all her extended family and many friends.

Reposing at her residence AbbeylaneBallyshannonF94 F6D7 today from 3pm to 7pm.

Removal on Saturday, January 17 from her residence for 11am funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon followed by burial afterwards in the Abbey Cemetery.

The house shall be private to family outside of reposing times and on the morning of the funeral.

Vivien Holt, Malin

The death has occurred of Vivien Holt, GooreyMalin, peacefully at Carndonagh Community Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband John and much loved mother of Caroline (RIP), Marianne and James.

Beloved grandmother of Edward, Patrick, Michael, Catherine and Esmé and Gran-Gran of TillyEvie and Romy.

Predeceased by her sister Sheila and sadly missed by her sisters, Di, Val and Ros, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Viviens remains will repose at her home today from 12pm to 6pm where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Viviens funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 17 at 2pm in Cloncha Parish Church, Malin Town, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
