Benny Rodgers, Manorcunningham

The death has occurred of Benny Rodgers, Corkey, Manorcunningham.

Mr Rodgers passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 27.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Annabelle, daughters Pamela (Jonathan), Patti (Darren) and Marcella, sons Ben (Charlene) and Oisin (Mary), grandchildren Cora, Dean, Calvin, Emily, James, Maci, Erín, Caela, Kyley, Ben and Frankie and great-grandchild Jaxon, brothers Billy, Johnny, Jim, Danny, Gabriel and Anton, sister Isobel, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Benny is predeceased by his parents Benny and Sadie.

Funeral from his late residence on Monday, September 29 at 10.15am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am requiem Mass.

Interment afterwards in St Columba’s Church Cemetery, Drumoghill.

House strictly private please at the request of the deceased.

Joe McNulty, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Joe McNulty, Gortlee Road, Letterkenny and formerly of Ardsmore, Gortahork.

Mr McNulty, who is the former Principal of Dooish National School, Ballybofey and Woodlands National School, Letterkenny, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 26.

Beloved husband of Maryellen (née Diver), dedicated dad to Mark, Donna, Louise and Rory and fun-loving pops to his grandchildren, Keeva, Erin, Dara, Tara, Ashling, Lia, Shannon, Maya, Ryan, Keira and Kayla.

Survived by his sister Tina McGlynn and brother Vinty.

Reposing at the family home, Gortlee, Letterkenny, today, Sunday, September 28, from 10am to 9pm, where you are most welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Monday, September 29, going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny (F92 PN81) for 11am requiem Mass which can be viewed online by using the following link https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657 followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.

Mary Lafferty, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Mary Lafferty, Navenny, Ballybofey.

Ms Lafferty passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27.

Predeceased by her husband Jim (December, 2005), her parents Margaret and William O’Meara, brothers Liam and Josie and sister Dolly Maxwell.
Sadly missed by her brother Michael O’ Meara, daughters Margaret, Helen, Eithne, Mae, Anne, Angela and Paula, sons Seamus, Brian, Liam, Aidan and Karl, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, neighbours and good friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence today Sunday, September 28 until 9pm.

House strictly private on the morning of the funeral please.

Requiem Mass will take place at 12 noon on Monday, September 29 in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr Kathleen Gallagher, Falcarragh

The death took place on Friday of Sr Kathleen (Philomena) Gallagher, Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul and late of Derryreel, Falcarragh.

She died eacefully in the loving care and presence of the Sisters and staff of the Daughters of Charity, Mount Prospect Avenue, Clontarf.

Predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Bridget Gallagher, her sister Gracie (Seamus), her niece Marie, and grandnephew Brian.

Deeply regretted by her sisters, Anne (Willie deceased), Rosie (Willie deceased), and Bridget (Joe deceased), brothers, Frank and Mary, James and Christine, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Community of the Daughters of Charity extended family, relatives, and friends.

Reposing at St Catherine’s Provincial House, Blackrock, (A94P2K3) on Sunday with prayers at 5pm.

Reposing at her brother Frank’s home Derryreel, Falcarragh F92 WR82 on Monday from 7pm to 10 pm and Tuesday from 12 noon to 9pm.

Rosary at 9pm both nights, followed by burial at 11 am Mass on Wednesday, October 1.

Doddy McGee, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has taken place of Doddy McGee Derryreel, Falcarragh, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his mother, Annie and cousin, Michael McGee.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Mary, daughters, Mary B (Éamonn), Rosanne (Eamonn) and Margaret (Brian), grandchildren, Eamonn, Shaun, Caoimhe and Odhrán and a wide circle of family and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence in Derryreel, Falcarragh on Sunday with rosary at 9pm.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 1pm in St Finian’s Church, Falcarragh F92 N6Y9 with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Ailis Malone, Offaly and Stranorlar

The death has taken place of Ailis Mairead Malone (née McMullin), Coolfin, Banagher, Co. Offaly and formerly of Camas, Washington, USA and Stranorlar.

Ailis died peacefully on Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband, David, her parents, Carmel and Vincent, brothers, Ernan and Eunan, sisters, Marie and Patricia.

She will be forever remembered by her loving daughters and sons, Petria, Kevin, Sean and Steven, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

Reposing at her home Coolfin, Banagher, Co Offaly (R42 CX26) on Sunday until 5pm.

Removal on Monday from her home to St Rynagh’s Church, Banagher arriving for Mass at 11am.

Private cremation afterwards. Her ashes will rest alongside her husband at Camas Cemetery, Camas, WA.

In lieu of flowers, donations if desired may be made to the Irish Cancer Society Palliative Care Night Nursing Service, whose care and support were invaluable to Ailis and to her family.

Patrick John Laverty, Galway and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Patrick John Laverty, Clooniffe, Moycullen, Galway and formerly Stranorlar.

Mr Laverty passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 24.

Sadly and deeply mourned and by his wife Mary (Mai) and will be forever missed by his loving daughters Helen and Ann-Marie .

He was the cherished brother of Maureen and adored grandfather of Daniel, Aislinn and Ciarán. Pat will be fondly remembered by the extended Laverty and Curran family, neighbours and many friends in both Donegal and Galway.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Pat at St. Mary’s Church, Claddagh on arrival at 11 am Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Forthill cemetery, Lough Atalia Road.
