The death has occurred of Mary Bridget McDaid (Drung) Bunn, Glengad, surrounded by her loving family at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy and her sons David and Daniel J.

Much-loved mother of Pat (Lorraine), George (Susan), Martin (Bridie), James A (Frances), Sally (Liam), Mary, Tina and Brian (Finola).

Cherished granny of Shaun, Tiarnan, Richard, Christopher, Martin, Elaine, Aaron, David, Nicole, Dean, Louise, Debbie, Conor, Eimear, Shauna and Ciara and great-grandchildren.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her extended family circle, friends and neighbours.

Mary Bridget’s remains will repose at her home.

Funeral from there on Tuesday, February 10, at 10.10am for 11am requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Lagg, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Gary Foy, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Gary Foy, Glencovitt, Ballybofey.

Mr Foy passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 6.

Beloved husband of Carmel, much loved father of Catherine (James), Conor (Eilish), Sian (Shane), and Ciaran (Niamh), dearly loved grandfather of Odhran, Cadhla, and Eabha.

Predeceased by his father John Foy.

Funeral arrangements will be confirmed later.

Patrick Gallagher, Bunbeg

The death has occurred of Patrick Gallagher, Strand Road, Bunbeg.

Mr Gallagher passed away at his home on Friday, February 6.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Bridget, sisters; Rose, Bridget, Mary and Ann, brothers; Charlie, Anton and John.

Sadly missed by his sister Madge, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and extended family & friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) today from 4pm to 8pm.

Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 9 at 11am in St Patrick’s Church Meenaweal, interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Mary Cassidy, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Mary Cassidy (née Dolan), Leghowney, Donegal Town.

Ms Cassidy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of Harbour Lights, Killybegs on Saturday, February 7.

Predeceased by her parents Edward and Margeret Dolan, sister Jane (Omagh), Brothers Seamus (Falcarragh) and John (Wales).

Survived by her husband Michael, daughters, Elizabeth (Eddie), Margaret (Martin), Catherine, Sons Francis (Orla), Shane (Denise) 15 grandchildren. nieces, nephews and extended family

Mary will repose at her son Shane’s residence in Leghowney F94ERW5 this afternoon from 3pm and Monday from 3pm.

Rosary at 10pm each night.

Removal on Tuesday to St Agathas, Clar for 11am requiem Mass followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery

Veronica Bennett, Ardara

The death has occurred of Veronica Bennett, Ardara.

Ms Bennett passed away peacefully after a short illness, bourne with dignity and courage surrounded by her loving family in Letterkenny University Hospital on Friday, February 6.

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Rose Breslin, brothers Jim, Peter, Charlie Joe, Con and Packie, sisters Bridie, Kathleen and Rose.

Also by her husband Phonise, sons Martin, Peter, and daughter Mary Phylis and grandson Christopher.

Vericona will be greatly misses by her sons Eugene (Kathleen) Packie, Claire (Richard), Sharon (John Damien), Fidelma (Brian), 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren., her sister Mary Judge (New Jersey) and nieces and nephews.

Her remains will repose at her home F94N2R5 this afternoon from 12pm until 9pm.

Funeral Mass in the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara on Monday at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Dolores Sheridan, Rathmullan

The death has occurred of Dolores Sheridan, St Joseph’s Terrace, Rathmullan.

Ms Sheridan passed away peacefully at Carndonagh Community Hospital on Saturday, February 7.

Predeceased by her mother Sarah and sister Sandra.
Deeply regretted by all her cousins, relatives and friends.
Remains will be received into St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan this afternoon at 2pm to repose overnight.
Requiem Mass at 11 am on Monday followed by interment in the adjacent Cemetery.

Philomena Porter, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Philomena Porter, San Giovanni Grove, Dromore, Mountchales.

Ms Porter passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Friday, February 6.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents Thomas and Rosanna, her sisters Anna and Kathleen (Ward) and brother-in-law Benny Mooney. She will be sorely missed by her sisters Bridie (Mooney) and Rosabel (Collins), her brothers-in-law, John P. Ward and John Collins.

She was adored by her many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, their spouses, as well as by her extended family, friends, neighbours and carers.

Aunty Phil or Mena, as she was affectionately known, especially welcomed children into her home and this kindness and her joy for life will never be forgotten.

Her family is grateful to all the staff at the hospital who cared for her, especially during her final illness.

Reposing at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles, (F94 X02N), today from 3pm until 6pm.

Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Killymard on Monday, February 9 at 11am, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

Brigid McNulty, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Brigid McNulty (née Kelly), The Heeney’s, Donegal Town.

Ms McNulty passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predecessed by her husband Willie John, Parents Bernard and Mary Ellen Kelly Frosses, her brother Joseph, sister Nellie and great granddaughter Lily.

Sadly missed by her childern Rose, Eileen (Gerry), Patsy (Mairead), Bernard (Helen), Brid (Charlie) Liam (Mary), Ann (Ernan), 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her siblings Mary, Kathleen, Bernard, Nuala, Una, Bernadette, Martin, Carmel, Eileen, John, Frank, Grace, Dan, Colm and Fr Eamon, their partners, her aunt Meave O Donnell, all her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jim Cowan, Letterkenny

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Jim Cowan, Conwal, Letterkenny.

Jim will repose at his late residence until 10pm today.

Service in his late residence this afternoon at 2pm with burial afterwards in the family plot in Gortlee Cemetery .

Noel Lafferty, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Noel Lafferty, Carrickshandrum, Killygordon.

Mr Lafferty passed away at his late residence on Thursday, February 5.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved father to sons Glyn and David (Lisa), daughter Elaine, son in law Damien, dearly loved grandfather to Caitlin, Leaigh, Daithi, Kayla, Nicole, Danielle, cherished brother of Stephen (Susan), Doreen (Tommy), and the late Barney and Damien.

Predeceased by his parents Dan and Rosie.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife, sons, daughter, son in law, grandchildren, brother, sister, extended family and friends.

Funeral leaving from his late residence this afternoon at 12.30 pm for requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon at 1pm interment in the adjoining churchyard.

The death has occurred of Noel Burke, Drumgorman, Mountcharles.

Mr Burke passed away peacefully at the Donegal Hospice on Thursday, February 5.

Predeceased by his father Tommy.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, his children Pauric (Mary), Claire (Kyle), Marie (Mark), his grandchildren Mason, Ella, Eoghan and Oisin, and his mother Eilish.

Cherished brother of John James (Breda), Willie (Mary), Hugh (Rose), Ciaran, Brid, Geraldine (Michael), Kathleen (Tom), and Martina (Adrian).

Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Mass this morning at 11.30am, in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles, with interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Tara Holden, Sligo and Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Tara Holden, Carrownacarrick, Coolaney, Sligo and formerly Mountcharles.

Ms Holden passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, February 5.

Predeceased by her dad James and her partner Lester Middleton.

Forever remembered by her son Shane, daughter Annaleigh, Shane’s partner Jennie, grand-daughter Sienna, her mother Pamela, sisters Elaine, Dawn, Pamela and Claire, brothers James and Stephen, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Tara’s funeral cortege will leave Dawn’s house this afternoon at 1.40 pm to arrive at Rathbarron Parish Church for Service at 2 pm.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

House is strictly private at all times.

Bridget (Bridie) Farrell, Mountcharles and Dublin

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Farrell, Drumduff, Mountcharles, Donegal and formerly of 35 Hammond Street, Blackpitts, Dublin.

Ms Farrell passed away peacefully at Aras Mhic Shuibhne, Laghey.

Predeceased by her husband Peter, sisters Emily and Betty and brother Jack.

Sadly missed by her children Liz and Paul, brothers Billy, Charlie and Bobby, sister Margaret, grandchildren Sara, Rachel, Anna, Peter, great grandchild Thea and son and daughter in law James and Irina.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 9 at 10am at St Nicholas of Myra Church, Francis Street Dublin 8 followed by burial at Mount Jerome Cemetery, Harold’s Cross, Dublin.

Phil Ward, Arranmore Island

The death has occurred of Phil Ward, Arranmore Island.

Mr Ward passed away peacefully in Manchester on Monday, January 26.

He is predeceased by his siblings Nan, John, Nellie, Mona, Packie and James.

Sadly missed by his brothers Michael, Frank, Joe, sisters in law and a wide family circle of nephews, nieces, especially Monica who cared for him so well in Manchester, and friends.

Wake at the family home Leabgarrow from 2pm today with Rosary at 8pm both nights.

Removal on Monday morning, February 9 for 11am Mass in Crones Church, Arranmore followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Dr Patrick Joseph (Joe) Mulholland, Dublin and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Dr Patrick Joseph (Joe) Mulholland, Foxrock, Co Dublin and formerly of Stranorlar/Ballybofey.

Dr Mulholland was the former Managing Director of RTÉ and the former Director of the MacGill Summer School.

He passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of all the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital on Saturday, January 31.

Beloved husband of the late Annie (August 2025) and loving father of Fiona, Sylvain and Julien.

Predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Danny.

Sadly missed by his sons, daughter and her partner Geoff, sisters Celine and Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends in Ireland, England and France.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday, February 9 in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park, Ballycorus Road, D18 X22C.
