Marian Murrin, Bruckless

The death has occurred of Marian Murrin (née Cannon), Loughmult, Bruckless, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully in her own home, after a long illness. 

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen, daughter, Paula (Pat), sons, Colin (Corena), Declan (Christine), Ronan (Carrie), Donal (April), grandchildren, Corey, Carla, Matthew, Darragh, Caoimhe, Conor, Harry, Fiadh, Shay, Jenna, Heather, Clara, her brother, Martin, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. 

Marian was predeceased by her parents, Jimmy and Susan.   

Remains reposing at her home on Sunday from 6pm to 9pm and on Monday from 12 noon to 9pm. 

Remains leaving on Tuesday at 11.30am going to the Church of St Joseph and St Conal, Bruckless, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Bridie Gallagher, Stranorlar

The death has occurred at Larissa Lodge Nursing Home, Letterkenny of Bridie Gallagher, formerly 2 Ard McCool, Stranorlar. 

Beloved daughter of the late Michael and Cassie Gallagher, much loved sister of Marie, Charles, John, and the late Michael, Kathleen, and Barney. 

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her loving sister, brothers, sisters-in-law Mary, Sheila, and Theresa, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.  

Remains reposing at the home of her sister, Marie Flanagan, Tircallen, Stranorlar F93 XN9T on Sunday from 12 noon to 9pm. 

Funeral leaving from there on Monday at 1.30pm for requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 2pm, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan, H12RF8, at 5.30pm. 

The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar,

Kathleen O’Brien, Crossroads

The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Kathleen O’Brien, Meenlaught, Crossroads, Killygordon.

Much loved sister of Matt, George, Des, Anne, Geraldine, Martina, Maureen, and the late Margaret, Michael, and John.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family and friends.

Reposing at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Daniel McGlinchey, Corradooey, Crossroads, Killygordon on Saturday and on Sunday from 12 noon to 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Monday at 10.15am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon.

Interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Maria Doherty, Derrybeg

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Maria Doherty, Magheraclogher, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her mother, Mary.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her father, Hughie (Kitty Tim), sister, Jacqueline, brother, Anthony, sister-in-law, Maureen, nephew, Ryan and extended family and friends. 

Her remains are reposing at the family home (F92 E928) on Sunday from 12pm – 8pm.

Rosary at 8pm.

House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Maria’s Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey (F92 N668), with interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Noel Catterson, Castlefin

The peaceful death took place on Friday at his home of Noel Catterson, 364 Grahamsland, Castlefin (F93 YDK1).

Predeceased by his precious sons, Terence and Ainsley, his parents, Patrick and Rosie Catterson and brother, Eamon.

He was the adored and loving husband of Maureen (née McHugh), cherished father of Tina (Pat), Deirdre (Gordon), Edwin (Sinead) and Marise (Owen) and daughter-in-law, Denise, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loving brother of Vera (Gallagher) and Kennie.

Reposing at the family home.

Funeral leaving there on Monday at 12.30pm for Requiem Mass at 1pm in St.Mary’s Church, Castlefin. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Noel will be dearly missed by his sorrowing wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and neighbours.

Richard Butler, Wexford, London, Culdaff

The death took place in London on August 27 of Richard Joseph Butler (fondly known to many as Dick Butler), at 88 years of age.

A son of Richard and Mary Butler, he was a beloved father to Mary, Richard, Alan and Bernadette, and a devoted grandfather to Leanne, Conor, Richard, Megan, Sean, Patrick, Finley, Cian, Niall, Riley and Shay.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret McLaughlin (Culdaff), his brother, John, sisters, Mary and Jo, his brothers-in-law, James, Bill, Patrick, Tommy, Sean and Jim, and his sisters-in-law, Roseline, Carrie and Annie.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Geraldine, brother-in-law, Pierce, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. 

Richard’s remains will arrive at the Muff border at approximately 2.30pm on Monday (September 8) to continue to The Mill, Culdaff (F93 X4HW), where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there at 10.30am on Tuesday (September 9) for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Fran McGaharon, Quigley’s Point

The sudden death has taken place at his home of Fran McGaharon, 34 Greenbank Cottages, Quigley’s Point, F93 KF95.

He was the beloved husband of Sarah and much loved father of Joanne (Kenny), Angela and Stephen, and devoted grandfather of Ainsley, Holly, Simone, Gracie, Mairead and Roisin.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers, James, Peter and John, stepdaughter, Joanne Burke, stepson, Shaun Burke and step-grandson, Jack Burke, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Fran’s remains are reposing at his home, where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Tuesday at 1.30pm for 2pm Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Drung, followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Marian Fagan, Ballyliffin

The peaceful death has taken place at home, surrounded by all of her loving children and her family, of Marian Fagan, née Grant (Doogan), formerly of Shore Road, Ballyliffin.

She was the much loved mother of Gráinne, Róisín, Eóin, Ciara and Conor.

Marian was predeceased by her brother, John and sister, Siobhan and her son-in-law, Seamus.

She was the dear sister of Rosaleen, Michael, Dan, Brian, Bried and Marty and will be deeply regretted by her nine grandchildren, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. 

Her remains will be reposing at the family home, Shore Road, Ballyliffin from 4pm on Sunday where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal from there on Tuesday at 1.30pm, going to St. Mary’s Church, Clonmany for 2pm Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the new cemetery.
