Peter Timoney, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Peter J. Timoney, Ballymacool, Letterkenny, peacefully at home after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family and in the compassionate care of hospice staff. 

Retired psychiatric nurse, beloved husband of Gorretti and much loved father of John (Marzie), Mark (Maria), Petrina (Mark Grehan), Adele (Lee Evans) and Clíodhna (Paddy Joe Rickard). 

Adored grandfather to Clodagh, Anna-Lee, Natalia Rose, Cullen, Seren, Ellie-Mae, Bonnie-Rae and Seán Peadar. Cherished brother of Kathleen Higgins, Angela Gibbons, Anastasia Bagnall, Carmel Collins and Christina Timoney. 

Peter is predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Maria, sisters, Veronica, Maria, Josephine, Gertrude and Helena and his brother, Leonard. 

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife, sons, daughters,  grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.  

Peter’s remains will be reposing at his late residence in Ballymacool (F92 VOT2) on Monday and Tuesday from 12 noon with Rosary both nights at 9pm. There will be a shuttle bus in operation from O’Donnell Park from 12 noon until 10pm. 

Funeral from there on Wednesday at 10.15am going to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny. Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member. 

Margaret Boyle, Kincasslagh

The peaceful death has taken place of Margaret Boyle (née Boner) at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, surrounded by her family.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Bernie, daughter, Rose Ann (David), sons, Joe (Mairead) and John Paul (Carol) and her grandchildren, Bradley, Darcie, Cillian and Oisín, her brothers, George, Joe and sister, Madge.

Predeceased by her brother, Jim and sister, Anna.

Margaret’s remains will repose at McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe (F94ND68) on Monday  from 3pm with rosary at 8pm.

Removal to her home at Mullaghduff, Kincasslagh F94E8D8 after the Rosary.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday  from 11am to 9pm.

Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Kincasslagh, F94X362 on Wednesday at 11am followed by interment in Belcruit cemetery.

No flowers please, donations in lieu to the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, care of McGylnn Funeral Directors or any family member.

Billy Wilson, Raphoe

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Billy Wilson, Shannagh, Raphoe.

Predeceased by his wife, Anne who passed away in 2019. Billy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Richard, daughter-in-law, Alison, grandchildren, Kerrie, Sam and Rachel, son, Andrew and daughter-in-law Patricia, grandchildren, Gareth and Ruth.

His remains are reposing at his home. 

Leaving from there on Tuesday, January 27 at 12.30pm going to Raphoe Presbyterian Church for Service of Thanksgiving at 1pm. The house is private please, family and close friends welcome. 

Theresa McEleney, Culdaff

The death has occurred of Theresa McEleney, peacefully at Beach Hill Manor Nursing Home, Lisfannon and formerly of ‘Tweedys’, Culdaff.

Predeceased by her husband, Barney and much loved mother of Carmel (Paddy) and Michael.

Devoted granny of Christopher, Stephen, Paul, Neil, Michael, Zoe and Heather.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. 

Theresa’s remains will repose at Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN, on Sunday from 2pm to 6pm where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Monday at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Bocan, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary Murray, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of  Mary Murray, Drimconnor, Mountcharles, peacefully at Aras Mhic Shuibhne, Mullinasole, Laghey. 

Predeceased by her husband, Michael, daughter, Margaret, brother, Johnny, sister-in-law, Marion, and parents, Ethel and James. 

Sadly missed by her loving family, Ethna (Shaun), Tom (Fiona), Kathleen (Noel), Mary (Willie) and Jimmy (Mel), her son-in-law, Seamus, Linda, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister, Kathleen and nephew, Edwin.  

Her remains will repose at Gallagher’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles (F94 X02N) today (Sunday) from 2pm until 8pm. 

Reposing at the residence of her daughter, Mary Burke, Drimconnor, Mountcharles (F94 YX50) on Monday from 2pm until 9pm for family, neighbours and close friends. 

Funeral Mass on Tuesday in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Marion McAuley-Looney, St Johnston

The death has occurred of Marion McAuley-Looney, Brockagh, St. Johnston.

Marion will be lovingly missed by her sisters and brothers, Margaret (Michael), Susan, William (Anne), Patrick, Christina (Alan), her nieces, nephews, and all her extended family and friends.

Marion is predeceased by her husband, Gerry, brother, James and his wife, Teresa. 

Marion will repose at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Oakfield, Raphoe, F93 KP0N, from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday, January 25. 

Funeral from Kelly’s Funeral Home on Monday  at 10.20am, travelling to St. Baithin’s Church, St Johnston for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. 

Richard McCafferty, Glenties

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Richard McCafferty, Glen Road, Glenties and formerly Lissacholly, Ballyshannon, surrounded by his loving family. 

Predeceased by his parents, Dick and Nora and his brothers, Micheal (Mary RIP) and Christopher. 

Dearly loved husband of Margaret and beloved father of Karen (Nicholas) and Alan (Dee) and adoring grandfather of Fionn, Iarla and Ailidh. 

Richard will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by sisters, Mary (Frank RIP), Noreen (Chris RIP) and Deirdre (Michael), his many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. 

Resposing at his late residence, Glen Road, Glenties (F94DY28) on Sunday from 2pm until 7pm. 

House private outside these times. 

Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday at St.Connell’s Church, Glenties with burial afterwards at the local cemetery.

Colette McLoughlin, Bray and Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Colette McLoughlin (née Conaghan) of Newcourt Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow, formerly Donegal Town.

She died peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by her loving family while in the exceptional care of Mary and Gillian Mangan and their wonderful team at Kinvara House, Bray. 

Remembered with love by her devoted family, husband, Patrick (Paddy), daughters, Carina and Suzanne, son, Peter, brothers, Tom and James, sister, Margaret, adored grandchildren, Conor, Jack, Matthew, Ella and Niamh, sons-in-law, Russell and Colin, sisters-in-law, Celine, Margaret, Catherine and Susan, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Reposing at her daughter, Suzanne’s home (A98YX03) on Monday evening from 5pm until 7pm. 

Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am in St. Fergal’s Church, Boghall Road, Bray after which Colette will be laid to rest in Redford Cemetery, Blacklion, Greystones.

Paddy Clancy, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Paddy Clancy, Creevy, Rossnowlagh Road, Ballyshannon, F94 EOE4 and formerly of Bridge Street, Sligo Town and Dublin. 

Peacefully in the gentle and exceptional care of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Sligo University Hospital. Surrounded by his loving family. 

Paddy shall be sadly missed by his wife, Bernadette. Forever remembered by his children; Ciaran, Niamh, Tara and stepdaughter, Patti, grandchildren, Ciara, Georgia, Gerard, Ella, Charli, Jude, Sophie, Conor, son-in-law Alan, daughter-in-law Fidelma, his siblings Mary (RIP),Tommy, Frank, Ann, Catherine, Bernie, Michael, Nuala, extended family, friends and neighbours. 

Reposing at his late residence on Sunday, January 25 from 2pm to 8pm and on Monday from 2pm to 6pm.

Removal from his late residence on Tuesday at 10.15am to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with service of interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery. 

House private to family outside of reposing times and on the morning of the funeral.

Seamus Kelly, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Seamus Kelly, Bomany, Letterkenny, unexpectedly but peacefully at his late residence.

Predeceased by parents, James (2005) and Grace (2024), sister, Grace Marley (2012) and uncle William (January 2026).

Deeply regretted by his siblings Mairead, Breda, PJ, Aidan, Carmel, Claire, Evelyn and Louise.

Fondly remembered by his aunt Peggy Breen, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, neighbours and friends. 

Seamus’ remains reposed in Eternal Light Chapel Of Rest, Mountain Top Letterkenny (F92 XE35) on Saturday afternoon and will be in repose again on Sunday from 5pm to 8pm.

Funeral Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral on Monday, January 26 at 12 noon, followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.

Noel McBride, Portnablagh

The death has taken place at the Lake House Nursing Home, Portnalagh, Dunfanaghy of Noel (Paddy) McBride, Breaghy, Portnalagh, and formerly Falls Road, Belfast. 

Sadly missed by his son, Adam, sister Collette, his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Sandra, his sister, Eileen and baby Olywn. 

No wake. Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy on Monday, January 26 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Mass can be viewed live on https://mcn.live/Camera/holy-cross-church  

Jim Henderson, Buncrana

The death has occurred of Jim Henderson, 7 Lisowen Avenue, Buncrana, F93 D9N7.

Jim died peacefully surrounded by those he loved on Friday.

Deeply mourned by his sons, Martin, Liam, Sean and Hugh Patrick.

He will always be fondly remembered also by his daughters-in-law, Elaine and Marie, and by his grandchildren, Michael, Megan, James, Shay, Caolan, Ultan, Sally, Emma and Cara.

Also by his much-loved brothers, Hugh, Danny, Jackie and his sister, Mary, as well as all of his extended family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, relatives, former colleagues and many friends.

Predeceased by his precious and beloved wife, Sally and son, Kieran.

Jim’s remains are reposing at his home.

Funeral from there on Monday at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. 

Bridie McNeely, Frosses

The death has occurred of Bridie McNeely, Ballybrillighan, Frosses, F94 EW67, peacefully at her home. 

Predeceased by her husband, Brian. Sadly missed by her daughters, May (John), Bernadette, her sons, Cathal (Mary), Bernard (Edel), and Fredrick (Patricia) and her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

Bridie will repose at the family home on Sunday from 1pm until 8pm. Removal on Monday for 11am requiem Mass at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Frosses followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. 

A one way traffic management system will operate at the wake house. Entry from the Frosses/Glenties Road and exit at Diver’s corner. Please follow the signs.
