Catherine Boyle, Burtonport

The peaceful death has taken place of Catherine Boyle (née McCauley), Burtonport and formerly of Main St., Dungloe.

She passed away in the Donegal Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply missed by her loving husband, John Columba, children, Anthony (Sinéad), Evelyn (Declan), Philip (Sue), Mary (Brendan), Sarah (Malcolm) and Bridget (Joe); brothers, Tony and Peter, sisters, Annie, Rosie and Agnes, her 22 grandchildren and her extended family.

Predeceased by her sister, Celine and parents, Philip and Sarah.

Her remains will repose at McGlynn’s Funeral Home on Sunday from 4pm until 8pm.

Removal to the family home at 8pm.

Family home is private to family and near neighbours.

Removal from the family home to St. Columba’s Church, Acres on Monday for funeral Mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in Dungloe Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice.

Graham Young, Trentagh

The death has occurred of Graham Young, Trentagh, Letterkenny, F92A786, under the excellent care of all the staff in Brentwood Manor Nursing Home, Convoy.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Pamela, sister, Betty, brothers, Kenny, Mervyn, Uel, Billy and Ronnie.

Predeceased by his brother, Gilbert and parents, William and Elizabeth.

He will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews and especially his niece, Sherree.

Graham will be reposing at his late residence from 12 noon until 10pm on Sunday. 

Funeral service on Monday at 11am in Cowal Parish Church with burial afterwards in Gortlee Cemetery. 

Jim Lynch, Manorcunningham

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Jim Lynch, Dunduffsfort, Manorcunningham.

Deeply missed by his loving wife, Kathleen, daughter, Caroline and husband, Gabriel Devenney, sister-in-law, Margaret Crumlish, nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and neighbours. 

Jim’s remains will be reposing at his daughter, Caroline and son-in-law, Gabriel Devenney’s home at Castleforward, Newtowncunningham F93 HT93  on Sunday from 2pm until 10pm, with rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/newtowncunningham.

Interment afterwards in St. Columba’s Church Cemetery, Drumoghill.

Edward Kelly, Malin

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Edward (Eddie) Kelly, Drumcarbit, Malin, F93 W942.

Predeceased by his sisters, Margaret, Betty and Mary and brother, Philip and Michael.

Loving father of Noeleen.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters, Helen and Anna, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Edward’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road Carndonagh F93 E4FN, this evening (Sunday) at 9.30pm, going to his home.

Funeral from there on Wednesday at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Aughaclay followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time from 10pm to 11am.

Sarah Hunter, Carrigans

The peaceful death has occurred at her home of Sarah Hunter (née McClintock), Cross, Carrigans F93YHF9.

Predeceased by her father, Tommy and sister-in-law, Rebecca.

Beloved daughter of Peggy, much loved sister of William, Frances (Roy), Fiona (Robert), Ronald (Dorothy), Emma (Robin), Norma (Mark).

Sarah will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Sarah will repose at her home on Sunday from 2pm until 10pm.

Funeral leaving from her home on Monday at 1.30pm, going to Monreagh Presbyterian Church for Service of Thanksgiving, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Ann Mooney, Ramelton

The death occurred on Friday in Letterkenny University Hospital of Ann Mooney, (née Merritt), 5 Lennon Bank Cottages, Ramelton.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband, Joe, daughter, Sharon (Ciaran), sons, Peter (Ann), Don (Siobhan) and Jason (Orla), grandchildren, brothers, Paddy and Thomas, sisters, Nora, Frances, Bernie, Marian and Tina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her brother, Bobby and sisters, Susie and Evelyn. 

Reposing at the residence of her son Don Mooney, Cairn Low, Ramelton, F92 YHK2.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 4.30pm.

William O’Connor, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of William (Billy) O’Connor, Drumrooske, Donegal Town and formerly of Teelin, aged 100 years. 

Billy passed away peacefully under the excellent care of the staff of Donegal Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his devoted wife, Marie, his children, Liam, Cathy, Patsy, Peter, Carol and Des, daughters-in-law and son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his two sisters, nieces, nephews and friends in New York, Australia and Dublin. 

Remains reposing at Tir Conaill Funeral Home (F94 FX3A) on Sunday, August 24 from 2pm to 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday in St. Mary’s Church, Killymard (F94 C6T7) at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

House strictly private on Monday and on the morning of the funeral. 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Patients Comfort Fund at Donegal Community Hospital. 

Kathleen McCauley, Moville

The peaceful death has taken place at Buncrana Community Hospital of Kathleen McCauley (née McKinney), Quay Street, Moville.

Predeceased by her parents, Mary and James McKinney and her husband, Vincent.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. 

Kathleen’s remains will repose at Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN on Sunday from 1-3pm and from 6-8pm and on Monday from 3-6pm, where you are all welcome to pay your respects, followed by removal at 6pm going to St Pius X Church, Moville to repose overnight.

Kathleen’s Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 10am in St Pius X Church Moville, followed by burial in Ballybrack graveyard.

Edward Dowds, Burt

The death has occurred at his home of Edward Dowds, Toulette, Burt, F93 N634.

Much loved father of Jason, Valerie, Kevin and Ryan. Loving brother of Thomas.

Predeceased by his parents, Kevin and Mary Anne, his sister, Maire McGrath and his brothers, George, Patrick and infant brother, Martin.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughter, brother, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Removal on Monday at 10.15am to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

James Shovlin, Dungloe and Killybegs

The peaceful death has taken place of James Shovlin, Caravan Road, Dungloe and formerly of Killybegs.

He passed away in Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife, Nancy, parents, Johnny and Mary, sisters, Mary, Bridie and brother, John.Sadly missed by Annmarie (PJ and Adam), his brother, Martin, also Marie and Irwin and all his other nieces,nephews, extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe from 3pm to 8pm on Monday with rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Tuesday to St Crona’s Church, Dungloe for 11am Mass. Burial afterwards in Dungloe cemetery.

Sean O’Donnell, Stranorlar and Dungloe

The peaceful death has occurred at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Letterkenny of Sean O’Donnell, 6 Woodlawn, Stranorlar, F93 Y9Y1 and formerly Belcruit, Kincasslagh, Dungloe. 

Beloved husband of the late Cora, much loved father to Shauna (Seamus), Daragh, (Miquel) Cahir, (Miriam), cherished brother of Vinny, Beatrice, Celia, dearly loved grandfather to Aoife, (Joe) Conor, Clodagh, Aoibheann, Sean, Ronan, Eoghan, Aisling, Max, and Amina, 

Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Brigid, brother, Ben, sisters, Sue, Anne, Maura. 

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his sons, daughter, brother, sisters, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.  

Remains reposing at his late residence on Sunday evening, August 24, from 6pm to 9pm and on Monday from 1pm until rosary at 9pm. 

Funeral leaving from his late residence on Tuesday at 10.30am, for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment in Drumboe cemetery.

Myra Donnelly, Dundalk and Carndonagh

The death has taken place of Myra Donnelly, née Friel, Carroll Mead and formerly of Mounthamilton, Ardee Road, The Derryhale Hotel, Dundalk and Carndonagh, Co Donegal. 

Myra died peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Saturday.

She was the beloved wife of the late Brendan, dear mother of Mary, sister of Joan, Frank, Helen, Rosemary, and the late Anne and Denis. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.  

Myra will repose at McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk, A91 XW66 from 4pm until 6pm on Monday. 

Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Fursey’s Church, Haggardstown arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Carlingford.

Nathaniel Black, Buncrana

The death has taken place of Nathaniel (Nat) Black of Ludden, Buncrana (formerly Belfast).

He died on Saturday, peacefully, after a short stay at Balmoral View Care Home, Belfast.

He was much loved by his family circle, children, Dolores, Deirdre, Maura and David, grandchildren, Elspeth, Aidan, Rory, Patrick, Matthew, Mollie, Katie and Manus, and great-granddaughters, Freya and Maddie; by his sons and daughter-in-law Jonathan, Clive and Rush, all his in-laws, nephews and nieces, the partners of his grandchildren and the wider family.

He was pre-deceased by son, Nathaniel and wife, Dolores, and by all his siblings.

Nat’s remains will rest in Ludden Cottage (at Links View Park entrance), F93 YH5C.

Family and friends welcome on Monday and Tuesday from 12 noon to 2pm and from 6pm to 9pm.

Nat’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery, Derry.

Deeply regretted by the wider family circle and friends.

Mark Kiely, Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Mark Kiely, Old Golf Course, Donegal Town F94F8P0. 

Mark will be greatly missed by his parents, Joe and Patricia Kiely, brothers, Calvin, Rory and Ailìn, Emmet and Sinèad, aunts, Nora (Babs) Kelly and Marie Kelly (Godmother), Eileen Kiely and Mary Mc Carthy, uncles Tom (Marnie), Johney (Mags) Kelly, Fr Eugene Kiely (Godfather), Denis, Ben, Danny, Patrick, Jerry, Vincent, Sean, Christy,Tim (deceased) and all their wives and children, all the cousins and extended family in U.S.A and Ireland and his many friends

Kathleen Corduff, Dublin and Glenties

The death has taken place of Kathleen Corduff (née Houston), Laurel Lodge, Castleknock, Dublin 15 and formerly of The Rock, Glenties, peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael, her parents, Francie and Josie and her brother, Sean. 

Much loved mother of Niamh and Marion and devoted granny of Laura and Ronan, Katie and Conor. 

Sadly missed by her loving family, sons-in-law, Adam and Mark, sisters, Mary, Josephine, Rosaleen and Breidín, brother, Francis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Reposing at her home on Monday from 2pm to 8pm. 

Removal to the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock on Tuesday morning arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.

Theresa Ferguson, Scotland and Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of Theresa Ferguson (née McGlynn), Ayr, Scotland and Malinmore, Glencolmcille.

Ms Ferguson passed away peacefully at the Ayrshire Hospice in Ayr surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 15.

Pre-deceased by her mother Margaret McGlynn (née Craig), her father John and her sister Mary.

Sadly missed by her husband Hugh, daughter Lynn, son Richard and grandchildren Robyn, Adam and Kit and nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral Mass will be held on September 4 at 10am in St. Margarets RC Church in Ayr followed by Ayr Crematorium.

Her final remains shall be taken to St. Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille on Friday, September 12 where Mass will be held at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
