The death has taken place of Catherine Gallagher, Cashelard, Ballyshannon, F94 DH51, suddenly at her family home.

Predeceased by her loving husband Michael, her beloved son Patrick and her daughter-in-law Patricia.

Forever loved and missed by her children Mary (Jimmy), John, Michael (Karen), Caroline (Shaun), Daniel (Siobhan), Brendan (Maggie), Lynda (Frank), Stephen (Eleanor), her 26 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and her beloved cousins Mary and Nano.

Reposing at her late residence on Friday, January 30 from 6pm to 9pm and on Saturday from 12 Noon to 10pm. Removal on Sunday, February 1 at 9.15am to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Cashelard for Mass of the Resurrection at 10am followed by service of interment in the adjoining cemetery.

House private to family outside of reposing times and on the morning of the funeral please. Family flowers only.

Rita (Margaret) McLaughlin (née Porter), Lifford

The death has taken place of Rita (Margaret) McLaughlin (née Porter), 72 Croaghan Heights, Lifford, Co. Donegal, following a long illness, and in the peaceful embrace of her family at Donegal Hospice.

Much‑loved and devoted wife of Ian.

Loving mother to her heartbroken children Stephen (Nataly), Carina (Michael) and Daniel (Sarah). Cherished Granny to Eve, Liam, Rónán, Reilly and Anamaria.

Sadly missed by her sisters and brother: Jennifer Brolly, Benny Porter and Christina, Frances Foley, Monica O’Loughlin and Brian, Millie Colhoun and Danny, Helen Porter, and Pauline Porter. Lovingly remembered by her sisters‑in‑law Angela, Valerie, Moira, Claire and Rosemarie, all her nieces and nephews, the wider family circle, neighbours and friends.

Rita was predeceased by her parents Bob and Maggie Porter, and her brother Eunan.

The family kindly ask those attending the wake and funeral to be considerate and patient with Ian, who has moderate dementia and may struggle with conversation and recalling names.

Reposing at her late residence from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday,  January 31 and Sunday, February 1 from 1pm to 9pm.

Funeral from her late residence on Monday morning at 10.30am going to St Patrick’s Church, Murlog, for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in Ballybrack Graveyard, Moville,  Donegal (F93 HK16).

Paddy (Patrick) Ryan, Dublin and Carndonagh

The death occurred of Paddy (Patrick) Ryan, late of Dublin and Carndonagh on the 28th October, 2025.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Philomena (McElhinney) Glack.

Paddy was a much loved father of Joanne, Mary, Patricia and Patrick.

Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Sarah, Ellen and Matthew, son’s in law, Colin and Paul, daughter in law Sinead and Sarah’s husband Mauricio, his sisters Marie and Anne, brother in law Glen, sister in law Katie and his nieces and nephews.

Paddy’s funeral Mass and cremation took place on November 4, 2025 in the Parish of St Brigids, Blanchardstown.

A Mass will be held for Paddy at 11am, Saturday, January 31 in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh, followed by the interment of his ashes in the adjoining cemetery.

Elizabeth (Betty) Mc Grory (Grant), Malin Head

The peaceful death has occurred at her home of Elizabeth (Betty) Mc Grory (Grant), Bree Upper, Malin Head, F93 CXA8.

Predeceased by her husband John Joe McGrory and brothers Hugh and Frank Grant.

Much loved Mother of Cathy, Geraldine, Danny and Gerard, sadly missed by her brothers, sisters, grandchildren, sons in law, daughter in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother in law, sister in law, friends, neighbours and the wider family circle.

Elizabeth’s remains will be reposing at the family home from Friday, January 30 at 2pm, where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Sunday morning at 11.30am going to the Star of the Sea Church, Malin Head for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Lagg Cemetery.

Thomas Francis (Tommy) Curry, Glenswilly and Coventry

The death has occurred of Thomas Francis (Tommy) Curry, Breenagh, Glenswilly and formerly Coventry, England, suddenly at his late residence.

Predeceased by parents Peter and Maria (nee Crossan).

Deeply regretted by brothers, Patrick, Michael and Peter.

Fondly remembered by his good neighbours, extended family members and many friends.

Tommy’s remains will repose in the Eternal Light Chapel Of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) on Sunday, February 1 from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral Mass in St Columba’s Church, Glenswilly on Monday, February 2 at 11am, followed by interment in Kilpheak cemetery.

Jim Doherty, Clonmany

The peaceful death has occurred in Beach Hill Manor Nursing Home, Lisfannan, Buncrana of Jim Doherty (Pat), No 7 The Cottage’s, Cleagh, Clonmany and formerly of Cloontagh, Clonmany.

Predeceased by his parents Johnny and Sarah, sisters Lizzy and Bridget and brother Patrick.

Much loved brother of Kathleen, sadly missed by his brother in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and neighbours.

Jim’s remains will be reposing at St Collumbcille Oratory, Cleagh, Clonmany from 3pm to 8pm, where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from this morning at 10.40am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Ita Kernan of Killester, Dublin, and late of Newtowncunningham, on January 28, in the loving care of the staff at the Sacred Heart Residence, Sybil Hill Road, Raheny.

Beloved sister of the late Frankie and Eileen.

Sadly missed by her loving sister Maureen, brothers Seamus and Anthony, sister-in-law Irene, her many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing in the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand, on Monday afternoon, February 2 from 3pm to 5pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning, February 3 at 10am in St Brigid’s Church, Killester, followed by a Short Service in the Seafield Room at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral, Fairview Strand, Home at 12noon.

The death has occurred of Tom Lawne, Drummeny Upper, Donegal Town peacefully at home.

Predeceased by his wife Vera. Sadly missed by his loving, son’s Peter (Roberta) and James (Helen), daughter Mary (John) grandchildren Francis, Joseph and Maria nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Tom’s remains will repose at Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Drumrooske, Donegal from 1pm until 6.30pm today with removal from funeral home to St Agatha’s Church, Clar for 7pm.

Tom’s requiem Mass will be in St Agatha’s Church, Clar at 11am today, Saturday, January 31 with burial afterwards in adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only donations in lieu of flowers to Donegal Community Hospital patient comfort fund in memory of Tom.

Betty Loughlin, Cloghan

The peaceful death has taken place of Betty Loughlin (nee Gallagher) of Ballykerrigan, Cloghan at the Donegal Hospice.

Beloved wife of Eunan, much loved mother to sons Patrick (Samantha), Eunan (Rosie), Daughter Irene (Chris). Dearly loved grandmother to Darian, Ethan, Kaleb, David, Anita, Krystel and Amber.

Predeceased by her parents Tommy, Mary and her brother Martin. Survived by her sisters Bridie, Mary, Lena and Vera, Brothers Kevin and Tony.

Betty’s remains will repose at the family home in Ballykerrigan, Cloghan F93 RX8P today until 9pm.

Family time from outside reposing times and on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass today, Saturday, January 31 at 11am in the Church of Our Lady of Prepetual Succour, Glenfin with service of Interment afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery, Glenfin.

Shuttle bus will operate from the Reelin Bar carpark F93 R821 from 5pm each evening.

Mary Ferry (née McGinley), Falcarragh

The death has taken place of Mary Ferry (née McGinley) of Derryreel, Falcarragh.

Much loved and sadly missed by her children Manus, Jim, Neil, Maggie, Katie, Noel, Mary, Bríd and Grace, her loving grandchildren and great grand children, daughters in law and son in law, her brother Noel and sister Catherine, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her loving husband Neil, brothers Paddy and Hughie, sisters Gracie and Maggie.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence today from 11am to 10pm.

Lawrence O’Toole, Killybegs

The death has taken place of Lawrence O’Toole of Finglas and Killybegs, in the loving care of his family and the Palliative Care Team of the Mater Hospital.

Lawrence, beloved son of the late Mary and Francis, loving brother of Brendan, Elizabeth, Mary, Rita and Bridget.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his brother and sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at the Fanagan Funeral Home, Church Street, Finglas on Monday, February 2 from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning, February 3 to St Canice’s Church, Finglas arriving for 11am Requiem Mass followed by Cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium.

The family wish to sincerely thank the Carers especially Mary and Thomas from Finglas Home Care who were so kind and caring to Lawrence in recent years.
