James (Jim) Melly, Meath and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Melly, Bogganstown, Dunree, Co Meath and formerly of Ballyshannon.

Mr Melly passed away at home on New Year’s Day.

Predeceased by his devoted and loving wife Phil.

Very deeply regretted by his brother Michael, and his sisters Mairead (Clarke), Noreen (O’Grady), Mary Melly, Anne Melly, Berna (Cox), his brothers-in-law Mick and Tom, and his sister-in-law Kate.

He is also fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at McEntaggart’s funeral home, The Gables, Dunshaughlin, (A85 DE70) from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, January 5.

Arriving at Glasnevin Crematorium at 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 6.

Bridie Devlin, Coventry and Clonmany

The peaceful death has occurred of Bridie Devlin (née McGeoghegan) in Coventry, England and formerly of Ballymageehan, Isle of Doagh, Clonmany.

Surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Michael.

Devoted mother to Jackie, Bernie, Julie, Kathleen, Carmel and Michael.

Cherished grandmother to Jack, Lewis, Matthew, Niamh and Aisling.

Loving mother in law to Jim, Sharon and Charlie.

Her remains will repose at her daughter Carmel’s home, Upper Annaugh, Clonmany (F93HT26) on Sunday, January 4 at 2pm, where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Monday morning at 10.30am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the new cemetery.

Margaret Gibbons, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Margaret Gibbons, College St, Ballyshannon.

Ms Gibbons passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 2.

Predeceased by her parents John and Teresa, her brother Dan, and infant brother John James.

Forever loved and sadly missed by her loving niece Sheila, nephews Sean and Brian, sister-in-law Ann, cousins and all extended family and friends.

Reposing at her late residence with removal on Monday at 10.45am to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am with service of interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Family flowers only please.

Paul Burns, Buncrana

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Paul Burns, 39 Crana View Buncrana.

Sadly missed by his wife Margaret, his children Kevin, Amanda and Sean, and his grandchildren Rachel, Sophie, Stephen, Roisin and Paul, and his wider family circle.

Remains leaving his late residence this morning at 10.15am for 11 o’clock Mass in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill.

Burial will take place in the adjoining graveyard.

House private from 9pm to 10am.

Roisin Panting, Carndonagh

The death has occurred at her home of Roisin Panting née McEleney, Gortnamara, Carndonagh.

Predeceased by her husband John, her son Paul and her son-in-law Eugene.

Roisin is a much-loved mother of Kevin and Alyson.

Roisin is deeply regretted by her grandchildren Daniel, Michael, James, Aileen, Ellen and Eamonn, and a loving great-grandmother to her 10 great-grandchildren.

Roisin will be missed by her daughter-in-law Louise, her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Removal from her late residence this morning at 10.30am going to The Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Mae Wisely, Ballindrait

The death has taken place at her home of Mae Wisely Craig, Gortnagole, Ballindrait F93HX6K.

Predeceased by her husband Sam and granddaughter Joanne.

Mae will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Norman, Alan (Olive), Lesley (Veronica), Peter and daughter Elizabeth (Joe), her seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral leaving from her home today at 1.30pm going to Ballindrait Presbyterian Church, for 2pm Service of Thanksgiving for her life, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Mary Therese Celine Patton, Convoy

The death has occurred of Mary Therese Celine Patton, Magheracorn, Convoy.

Ms Patton passed away at Brindley Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 31.

Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Veronica, her siblings Margaret, Joseph (Josie), Agnes, Thomas, John (Johnny), Patrick (Patsy), Kathleen (Katie), Bridget (Bridie), Anne (Annie) and Freda. Mary will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Denis, her nieces, Veronica and Denise, their families, and all her nieces and nephews and the extended Patton family.

Also her friend Greta and all her Lifford Hospital friends.

Funeral leaving from her home this morning at 10.15am going to St Mary’s Church Convoy for 11am funeral Mass, followed by burial in the old graveyard.

House private please on the morning of the funeral please and family flowers only.

Gretta Alcorn, Dunfanaghy

The death has occurred of Gretta Alcorn (née Stewart), 14 New Cottage Road, Dunfanaghy.

Ms Alcorn passed away on Wednesday, December 31.

Beloved mother to Tracey and husband Gary, Geoffrey and partner Anna, grandchildren Eirinn, Sandy and Charley.

Predeceased by her loving husband Arthur (Gusty 2013).

Deeply loved and fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Service will take place in Holy Trinity Church, Hornhead Road, Dunfanaghy, today at 1pm.

Burial afterwards in Clondahorkey Cemetery.

Bridie Marley (née Harkin)

The peaceful death as taken place of Bridie Marley nee (Harkin) of Cloghan Mór, Cloghan, F93 HK52.

Predeceased by her loving husband Patrick. Much loved Mother of Helen (Willie), Mary (Pete), Lavina (Terry), Patrica (Shaun), Joe (Carol) and Francie (Bernie).

Devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bridie will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends.

Removal today to Church of Our Lady of Prepetual Succour Glenfin for requiem Mass at 1pm.

Service of Interment afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery Glenfin.

Dorothy Devaney, Fanad

The death has occurred of Dorothy Devaney, Ballyheirnan, Fanad and formerly Manchester, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband, John (2009), sister, Joyce Wilde and brother-in-law, Frank Wilde.

Deeply regretted by Sean and Teresa, her extended family, neighbours and many friends.

At the request of the deceased, a private cremation will take place.

Today at 1pm a Service of Thanksgiving will take place at Christ the Redeemer Church, Rossnakill, with burial of ashes afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
