Michael Boyle, Kilcar

The death has taken place of Michael Boyle, Meenacannon and Ballymcfadden, Kilcar, Donegal.

Michael (90) passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

Predeceased by his dear partner Gemma, his brothers John and Francie, his sisters Mary, Bridget, Kay and Máiread.

Michael will be sadly missed by his sister Teresa, his many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of family and friends.

Mary Gallagher (née Sweeney)

The death has occurred of Mary Gallagher (nèe Sweeney), Kill, Dunfanaghy, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Michael and son in law Brendan Duffy. Deeply regretted by her daughters Marion, Grace, Kathleen, Siobhan, Louise, Sarah and son Brendan, her sons in law Julian, Andrew, Andrea, Pàraic and daughter in law Mary, grandchildren and extended family.

Her remains will be reposing at her late residence from 3pm to 10pm Saturday, December 13 and  Sunday, December 14 from 11am to 10pm.

Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy, on Monday, December 15, at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Mass can viewed live on https://mcn.live/Camera/holy-cross-church

Margaret Foley (née Strain)

The peaceful death has occurred at her home in her 97th year of Margaret Foley nee Strain, Rockstown, Tooban, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by her loving husband John, infant daughter Rosemary, son-in-law Eddie, brothers James, Phonsie, Harry, Danny and Eamon and sister Elizabeth.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by her loving son and daughters Elizabeth Murphy, Gerard, Antoinette Toner and Mairead, son-in-law Martin, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Willie John Strain, Gortnaskea and sister Anna McCarron, Glasgow, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Her remains will be reposing at her home on Saturday, December 12 from 12 noon where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Monday, December 15 at 10.15am to St. Mura’s Church, Fahan for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Nathaniel Rogers, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Nathaniel Rogers, Moorview House, Gortnavern, Coolboy, Letterkenny, F92 K720 in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Joan, sons Barry (Lisa) and James (Orla), daughter Janet Slater (Johnathan), grandchildren Paul, Ryan, Shannon, Levi and Ava, sisters Gretta Scott, Sylvia Love and Audrey Sloss, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his sister Maureen Burns.

Reposing at his late residence  on Friday December 12 from 6pm until 10pm, and Saturday, December 13 from 11am until 10pm.

Funeral service on Sunday, December 14 at 2.30pm in Leitir Presbyterian Church. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Renal Dialysis Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital and the Faith Mission, c/o any family member.

Philomena Mc Brearty, Killybegs

The death has occurred of Philomena Mc Brearty, Bridge Street, Killybegs peacefully surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her parents Mary Agnes and Joseph Mc Menamin and her brother Hugh.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Jackie, daughters Sandra (Patrick), Sinead (Craig), Carol (Declan), Colette (Micheal), Vicky (Aiden) and Shona (Colm) and her adored grandchildren Pauric, Eilish, Eimear, Lochlann, Donnchadh, Colm, Caoimhe, Darragh, Áine, Oisín, James, Aoibhinn, Sadie, Jack and Annabel, sisters Marymargaret, Bridget, Eileen and Rose, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Remains reposing at McBrearty’s Funeral Home (F94 R8WR) , Killybegs from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, December 12 and 1pm to 8pm on Saturday, December 13.

Funeral mass at 11am on Sunday, December 14 in St Mary of the Visitation Church Killybegs with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Mary McFeely, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Mary McFeely, née Coll, 10 McMahon Villas, Letterkenny.

Mary’s remains will repose at her late residence from 6pm to 10pm on Friday, December 12 and again on Saturday from 10am to 10pm.

Funeral from there on Sunday morning for requiem Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny at 12 noon followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.

Olive Patterson, Sion Mills and Castlefin

The death took place on Thursday at Woodmount Nursing Home of Olive Patterson (née Maxwell), 2 Grove Terrace, Sion Mills and formerly of Fern, Castlefin.

Beloved wife of the late Sam, much loved mother of Doreen (Gwyn), David (Liz),
Heather (Ger), Stuart (Dorinda) and the late Margaret (Herbie), Jim (Vera) and Robert (late Ruby). Dearly loved grandmother of Lee, Dean, Laura, Mark, Stephen, Craig,

Johnny, Cally, Emma, Johnny and Lisa and sister of Sadie, and the late Norman.

Reposing at her home. Funeral leaving her home on Saturday, December 13 at 11.30am for Service of Thanksgiving in Sion Mills Presbyterian Church at 12 noon.
Interment afterwards in Urney Cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister and family circle.

Mamie McLean (née Farrell), Gortahork 

The peaceful death has taken place of Mamie McLean, Baltoney, Gortahork, in the comfort and care of the staff of Áras, Gaoth Dobhair.

Predeceased by her daughter, Roma, husband, Jim, mother-in-law, Minnie, her parents, brothers and sisters. Survived by her sons, James and his wife, Kathleen and her son, Paul, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will repose at her home in Baltoney (via Dunfanaghy) F92 W2Y5 with wake commencing on Thursday, December 11 from 3pm to 8pm and Friday, December 12 from 12 noon to 8pm. Rosary both nights at 8pm, house private after the rosary.

Funeral from there on Saturday, December 13 to the Church of Christ the King, Gortahork F92 DP86 for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Ann Marie McLaughlin, Moville

The death has occurred of Ann Marie McLaughlin, 123 St Finian’s Park, Moville F93 W31X, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents, Peggy and Charlie, her brothers, Andrew and Eamonn and her sister, Margaret.

Much loved mother of Tina (Tim) and cherished granny of Eva.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sisters, Sadie, Therese, Josephine and Caroline, her brother, Michael, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Ann Marie’s remains will leave Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, F93 E4FN, on Thursday, December 11 at 8pm going to her home.

The removal is open to the public however the family home is private on Thursday evening.

Funeral from there on Sunday, December 14 at 12.30pm for 1pm Requiem Mass in St Pius X Church Moville, followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Jane McGarvey, Kilmacrennan

The death has taken place of Jane McGarvey, Kilmacrennan, peacefully at her late residence, surrounded by her loving family. 

Predeceased by parents, Charlie and Maggie, sons, Jack and John, brother, Charlie, sisters, Anna Monaghan and Brid McCormack. 

Jane is survived by her devoted husband, John, daughters, Maureen Rodden (Bryan), Karen Connaghan (Liam) and Angela, 

Fondly remembered by grandchildren, Leigh, Ari, Dualtach and Tarlagh, brother, John McDaid and sister Margaret Coll.  

Jane’s remains reposed at her daughter, Maureen Rodden’s residence, Meadow View, Kilconnell, Kilmacrennan, F92DK63 on Thursday evening and on Friday from 12noon until 10pm.

Rosary at 9pm. 

Funeral from there on Saturday morning going to St Columba’s Church, Kilmacrennan for requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Packie Doherty, Culdaff

The death has occurred of Packie Doherty (Sean), Bocan, Culdaff, peacefully at Carndonagh Community Hospital.

Predeceased by his infant son, Patrick and cherished father of Jennifer (Jorge) and Paula (Ciaran), and much loved grandad of Oisín.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters and brothers, Philip (RIP), Susie, Sean, Bernice (RIP), Anne, Paul, Geraldine and Majella, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours. 

Packie’s remains are reposing at the home of his brother Sean (Sean), Bocan, Culdaff (F93 D996)

Funeral from there on Saturday at 1pm for 1.30pm Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Ronan Daly, Rosbeg

The death has taken place of Ronan Daly, Rosbeg, and formerly of Terenure, Dublin.

Ronan died suddenly but peacefully at home.

Ronan will be sadly missed by his son, Jonathan, brothers, Bob and Aidan, sister, Anne Marie, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, and especially by his constant companion Mary.

Predeceased by his sister, Deirdre and brother, Paul.

Ronan’s remains will leave Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara on Monday morning December 15 at 10.30am travelling to Service and cremation in Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harolds Cross, Dublin at 3.15pm.

John (Jack) Stockton, Carrowmenagh and formerly Padiham, England

The death has occurred of John (Jack) Stockton, Carrowmenagh, Donegal and formerly of Padiham, Lancashire, England.

He died on Tuesday, peacefully at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, while surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Stockton (née McLaughlin) and much-loved father of Joe and Anne.

Sadly missed and remembered by his son, Joe and daughter, Anne, daughter-in-law, Fionnuala, son-in-law, Pat, his adored grandchildren, Emma, Laura, Jack, David, Peter and Christopher, sisters-in-law, Lily, Nuala and Ray, nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family and friends.

Jack reposed at JP Ward & Sons Funeral Home, Sandyford Village, Dublin on Thursday evening.

Jack’s remains will arrive at the Muff border at approximately 4.30pm on Friday to continue to the family home in Carrowmenagh (F93 A6Y3).

Reposing at his home from 6pm to 10pm, with the house private thereafter and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral cortege will depart the family home at 10.30am on Saturday, December 13 for 11am Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Ballinacrae followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

John Barron, Castlefin

The death has occurred of John Barron, Drumdoit, Castlefin.

Cherished son of the late Mary.

Reposing at Lynchs Funeral Home, 50, Castlefin Road, Castlederg BT81 7EE on Thursday and Friday from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.

Funeral from the Funeral Home (via Drumdoit) on Saturday, December 13 at 11.10am for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St. Columba’s Church, Doneyloop. Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

The funeral home is private please on the morning of the funeral.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by the McCrory family and his many good friends and neighbours. 

Eamonn (Eddie) McCafferty, Ramelton and Glasgow

The death has taken place of Eamonn (Eddie) McCafferty, a much-loved husband, father, granda, and brother.

Eamonn’s were received into St Gabriel’s Parish, 83 Merrylee Road, Glasgow, on Thursday, evening.

The funeral Mass will take place at St Gabriel’s on Friday, December 12 at 10am, followed by burial at Linn Cemetery at 11.15am.

A memorial service will be held in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton, at 11am on Sunday, January 18.
