The death has occurred at his late residence of Jim Callaghan, 5 Ballyraine Park, Letterkenny (F92 D9PR), retired teacher. 

Deeply regretted by his wife Kay, son Gerard (Jacquie), daughter Cliona (Ali), grandchildren Jamie, Rory, Aaron, Emma, Aidan and Andrew, neighbours, relatives and friends. 

Reposing at his late residence on Saturday from 5pm to 9pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 9pm, concluding with Rosary at 9pm on both nights.

Parking is available at the Pin Tavern, Ramelton Rd., Ballyraine.   

Family time, please on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral Mass at 12 noon in St. Eunan’s Cathedral on Monday which can be viewed on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Charles Doherty, Bridgend

The death has occurred at Archview Lodge Nursing Home, Letterkenny of Charles Doherty, 529 Bonemaine, Bridgend.

Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret.

Sadly missed by his loving daughters Monica and Helen, sons John, Patsy, Thomas and David, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, extended family and friends.

Remains will be reposing at his home on Saturday evening from 6pm.

Removal from there on Monday at 9.30am to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for Requiem Mass at 10.15am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Family time please from 11pm to 11am.

Daria Dolan, Bundoran

The death has occurred of Daria Dolan (née McGovern), Tullan Strand Rd, Bundoran and formerly of The Irish House, Swanlinbar, Co. Cavan. 

She died on Friday, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Sligo University Hospital.

Beloved mother of Declan, Patricia, Raymond and Darragh. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Carmel, Linda and Catherine, her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Lorna, Darragh, Niamh, Charlie and James, her great-grandchild Aoibhe, her sisters Maureen and Rosario and all her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Predeceased by her parents Bartley and Bridget McGovern (The Irish House, Swanlinbar), her brothers Joe and Jude and sisters Cáit, Atty, Teresa and Philomena.

Reposing at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran F94E92F on Sunday from 2pm to 6pm where all are welcome to call. 

Removal from the Funeral Home on Monday at 9am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Swanlinbar, Co. Cavan for Mass of the Resurrection at 10.30am followed by removal to Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan for cremation service at 1pm. 

Family flowers only please, donation in memory of Daria if so desired to S.H.O.U.T (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust) care of donation box at Funeral Home, online at www.idonate.ie/cause/shoutsligo or by post to Breslin’s Funeral Home, Bundoran.

Charlie Devine, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Charlie Devine, Kirkneedy, Letterkenny, peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by his devoted family. 

Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Bridget. Sadly missed by his loving wife Irene, son Carl (Breda), daughter Katrina (Julio), grandchildren Caolan, Andrew, Pauric, Conor and Hayley. 

Fondly remembered by brother Frank, extended family, neighbours and many friends.  

Charlie’s remains are reposing at his late residence.

Funeral from there on Monday going to St Columba’s Church, Glenswilly, for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Conwal Cemetery.

Paddy McLaughlin, Athlone and formerly Burtonport and Rathmullan

The death has taken place of Paddy McLaughlin, Roscommon Road, Athlone and late of Burtonport and Rathmullan

A retired member of the Defence Forces, he died peacefully in the loving presence of his family on Friday in the excellent care of the staff in the ICU at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, three  days after his 80th birthday. 

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Margaret McLaughlin and siblings Rose (McBride), John and Tony. 

Beloved husband for 58 years of Annette (née Warde, Baylough). Cherished father of Enda, Fiona Connolly and Karen Dempsey. Much loved father-in-law to Michelle Jessop, John and Paul. Dearly loved grandfather to Cian, Thomas, Caleb and Gabriel McLaughlin, Lauren , Evan, Megan and Rachel Connolly, Kate and Adam Dempsey. Great-grandfather to Teddy Troute and Mabel Connolly Griffin. 

Sadly missed by his family, brother-in-law Nick Warde, Baylough, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, ex colleagues and neighbours. 

Reposing at the Strand Funeral Home (N37 WY17) on Monday evening from 4pm to 6pm. 

Mass of the resurrection on Tuesday at 11am in St Peter and Paul’s Church followed by burial in Kiltoom cemetery.

Donal Kelly, Dublin and Buncrana

The death has taken place of Donal Kelly, Flower Grove, Glenageary, Dublin and formerly of Buncrana.

He passed away peacefully on January 3 in the wonderful care of Altadore Nursing Home, Glenageary. 

Cherished husband of Ann and much-loved father of Fergal and Damian. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kitty and husband Pat, sister-in-law Frances and husband Tom, brothers-in-law Micheal, Tom, Seamus and Paul, daughters-in-law Orla and Jennifer and his beloved grandchildren Lia, Ethan, Luca, Adam and Amy, many nieces and nephews, his former RTÉ colleagues and many friends, including those in the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir. 

Reposing at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Newtown Park Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin (A94 X308) on Tuesday January 7 from 5pm to 7pm. 

Requiem Mass on Wednesday January 8 at 10am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Glenview Road, Glenageary, Co. Dublin (A96 EY91), followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross.

Pádraig O Boyle, Bunbeg

The death has taken place at his home of Pádraig O Boyle, Knockastolar, Bunbeg.

Predeceased by his baby sister Louise.

Sadly missed by his parents Vincent and Bella, his sister Katie and her husband Philipp, his brothers, Pól and Seán and extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at his home on Saturday from 11am to 8pm. Rosary at 8pm.

House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, January 5 at 1pm in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

James Harty,  Ballyshannon and Waterford

The death has occurred of James (Jamie) Harty. Newport, South Wales. 

He passed away peacefully after a short illness on h December 11, aged 60 years. 

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Claire, née Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon.

Missed and cherished by his sisters Maggie, Sue and Anna, mother-in-law Teresa Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and all his friends. 

Requiem Mass to take place on Thursday, January 9 at 1.30pm at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Newport, South Wales followed by cremation at Langstone Vale Crematorium at 3pm. 

A Mass will be offered for Jamie in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon at a later date.

Declan Ward, Dungloe

The sudden passing occurred on Wednesday, January 1 of Declan Ward, Tubberkeen, Dungloe, at the age of 41. 

Declan will be forever loved and cherished by his beloved children, Caoimhe, Saoirse and Ché, their mother Melissa, and his devoted parents Noreen and Charlie. 

He is deeply mourned by his brother Gavin, sister-in-law Jordanna, as well as his nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many close friends. 

Declan’s kind and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a devoted father, son, and brother, and his loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends. 

His remains reposed in McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe on Friday.

His remains will repose at his home in Tubberkeen on Saturday with the house strictly private please for family only and also private on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in St Crona’s Church, Dungloe with interment in Maghery Cemetery.

Mary Thomas, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Mary Thomas (née Hegarty), Clar, Donegal Town, peacefully in Beaumont University Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by her parents Dessie and Peggy and her brothers Gerry and Aidan.

Sadly missed by her husband Aidan, sons Pauric (Maria) Ruarí (Christina)and Ross, her brother, John (Grace) and sisters, Fidelma (Vernon), Brona (Tature) and grandchildren, nephews and nieces and extended family.

Mary’s remains will repose at Tír Conaill Funeral Home, Donegal Town, from 1pm until 7.30pm on Saturday with removal to St Mary’s Church, Killymard for 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard with burial in Clar graveyard immediately afterwards.

Family flowers only with donations in lieu to Solace Cancer Centre, Donegal Town c/o any family member or Faulkner Undertakers. 

John Cooper, Buncrana

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of John Cooper (Sean), 5 Knockalla Drive, Buncrana.

John was the father of Tommy, Christine, Shauna, Jordan and Reuben, son of the late Thomas and Annie Cooper. 

Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Buncrana from 2pm and 7pm on Friday and Saturday.

Removal from there on Sunday at 10am  going to Lakelands Crematorium for cremation at 1pm. 

Owen Kelly, Buncrana

The peaceful death has occurred at Lower Illies, Ballymagan, Buncrana of Owen Kelly, husband of the late Anna and loving father of Mary (Sean) Bernadette (Gerard) Brian (Noreen).

Owen will be sadly missed by his son, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends and all who knew him.

Remains reposing at his late residence at Lower Illies.

Funeral from there on Sunday leaving at 10am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brigid McGinty, London and Glencolmcille

The sudden death has taken place of Brigid (Breda) McGinty (née Cunnea), Hammersmith, London and formerly of Cashel, Glencolmcille.

Brigid was the beloved wife of Seamus and much loved mother of Marie, Jenny and James, and grandmother to Emmet.

Greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral details in London to be confirmed.   

Joseph Houston, Cloghan and England

The death has occurred of Joseph Houston, Lettershanbo, Cloghan and formerly Lettershanbo, Cloghan. 

He died peacefully at his home in Birmingham, England in his 100th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved father to Angela, (James) Caroline (Craig) and John (Helen). 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces in Ireland and England, (Mc Cool family, Hone family, Houston family) extended family and friends. 

Joe’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, January 13 at 11am in the Church of St. Joseph and St. Helen, Kings Norton, with interment in St. Nicholas Churchyard, Kings Norton. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.youtube.com/@ssjosephandhelen.
