Margaret Gibbons, Ballyshannon

Maura O’Brien, Lifford

The death has occurred of Maura O’Brien (née Griffin), 3 Townparks, Lifford and formerly of Castlefin.

Ms O’Brien passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Saturday, January 3.

Beloved wife of the late Sean, much loved mother of Eunan (Bernadette), Paula (Trevor) and Michael (Deirdre), dearly loved grandmother of Sinead and Cormac and sister of Roisin, Una, James and the late Jean and Grace.

Reposing at her home on Sunday, January 4 from 12 noon.

Funeral leaving her home on Tuesday, January 6 at 11.30am for requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Castlefin.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughter, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces and family circle.

Family time please from 10pm until 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Helen (Babs) Flannery, Cork and Buncrana

The death has occurred of Helen (Babs) Flannery (née Cotter), Macroon, Cork and formerly of Buncrana.

Ms Flannery passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 1.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Lorraine, Lorna and Aimée, Aimée’s partner Ray; her adored grandchildren Rose, Fíonn, Ardán and Alex; her sisters Evelyn and Mary; extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Fitz-Gerald’s Funeral Home, Macroom, (P12KX79) on Sunday, January 4 from 1pm to 3pm.

A humanist ceremony will take place at The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy (P43DD71) at 12 noon, Tuesday, January 6.

No flowers please.

Donations, if desired to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland or the ISPCA.

Mary Brogan, Killybegs

The death has occurred of Mary Brogan, Fintra Road, Killybegs.

Ms Brogan passed away at the Donegal Hospice surrounded by her family on Friday, January 2.

Predeceased by her parents Mary Agnes and Josie Cunningham.

Sadly missed by her husband Jimmy, daughter Donna, son in law John, grandchildren Loughlann and Olivia, brothers John (Mary), Hugh, Francie (Margaret) and Danny (Margaret), sisters Anne and Catherine (Eugene), sisters in law Kathleen and Rose, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at Mc Brearty’s Funeral Home, Killybegs (F94 R8WR) until 9pm tonight and on Sunday, from 2pm until 7pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday, January 5 in St Mary of the Visitation Church Killybegs at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetary.

Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice, care of any family member or the funeral directors.

James (Jim) Melly, Meath and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of James (Jim) Melly, Bogganstown, Dunree, Co Meath and formerly of Ballyshannon.

Mr Melly passed away at home on New Year’s Day.

Predeceased by his devoted and loving wife Phil.

Very deeply regretted by his brother Michael, and his sisters Mairead (Clarke), Noreen (O’Grady), Mary Melly, Anne Melly, Berna (Cox), his brothers-in-law Mick and Tom, and his sister-in-law Kate.

He is also fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at McEntaggart’s funeral home, The Gables, Dunshaughlin, (A85 DE70) from 4pm to 7pm on Monday, January 5.

Arriving at Glasnevin Crematorium at 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 6.

Bridie Devlin, Coventry and Clonmany

The peaceful death has occurred of Bridie Devlin (née McGeoghegan) in Coventry, England and formerly of Ballymageehan, Isle of Doagh, Clonmany.

Surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Michael.

Devoted mother to Jackie, Bernie, Julie, Kathleen, Carmel and Michael.

Cherished grandmother to Jack, Lewis, Matthew, Niamh and Aisling.

Loving mother in law to Jim, Sharon and Charlie.

Her remains will repose at her daughter Carmel’s home, Upper Annaugh, Clonmany (F93HT26), where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Monday morning at 10.30am going to St Mary’s Church, Clonmany for requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the new cemetery.

Margaret Gibbons, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Margaret Gibbons, College St, Ballyshannon.

Ms Gibbons passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 2.

Predeceased by her parents John and Teresa, her brother Dan, and infant brother John James.

Forever loved and sadly missed by her loving niece Sheila, nephews Sean and Brian, sister-in-law Ann, cousins and all extended family and friends.

Reposing at her late residence with removal on Monday at 10.45am to arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am with service of interment in the Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.

Family flowers only please.

Donations in memory of Margaret if so desired to the Palliative care team, Sligo c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors or any family member.
