Danny Sweeney, Bunbeg

The death has occurred of Danny Sweeney, Magheralosk, Bunbeg.

Mr Sweeney passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Sunday, November 17.

Predeceased by his parents Dominic and Bridget, brothers Jimmy, Eddie and Paddy, sister Rosie, infant sons James and Noel and granddaughter Aisling Sweeney.

Sadly missed by his wife Nora, daughters Máire, Bríd, Róisín, Maeve and Edel, sons James, Seán, Domnick, Hughie and Eamonn, sister Bridget (Scotland), grandchildren; great grandchild and extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Monday and Tuesday from 2pm to 8pm.

Rosary both nights at 8pm.

Removal to the family home on Tuesday evening after the Rosary.

Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg at 11am on Wednesday, November 20 with interment afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

 George Sterritt, Dunfanaghy

The death has occurred of George Sterritt, Rinclevan, Dunfanaghy.

Mr Sterritt passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Sunday, November 17.

Survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Rebecca (Brian), son Leslie (Sinead), his brothers and sisters Florence, Robert (Audrey), Leslie, John (Marina), Samuel (Bridget), Marbeth Duffy (Jackie) and his grandchildren Hanna, Freddie and Kilian, nieces, nephews and wider family circle.

Predeceased by his parents and sister in law Georgena.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence from 4 pm on Monday, November 18.

Funeral Service in the Presbyterian Church, Dunfanaghy on Wednesday, November 20 at 2 pm followed by burial in Ballymore Graveyard.

Family time, please, from 11 pm to 10 am and on the morning of the funeral.

Family flowers only, please.

Breege McGee (née Moyne), Buncrana

The death has occurred of Breege McGee (née Moyne), Upper Slavery, Buncrana.

Ms McGee passed away at The Donegal Hospice on Sunday, November 17.

Beloved wife of the late Donal, much loved mother of Darragh and dear sister of Liam, Pat, Brendan, Seamus and Terence.

She will be forever missed by her loving son, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Her remains will be reposing at her home from 11am on Monday, November 18 where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Wednesday morning, November 20 at 10.15am to St. Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Nan (Anastasia) Henry, Greencastle

The death has occurred of Nan (Anastasia) Henry (née McCormick), Tradrum, Greencastle.

Ms Henry passed away peacefully at the Nazareth House, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 16.

Predeceased by her husband Jack and her daughter Jacqueline.

Much loved mother of Elizabeth (Paul), Desmond (Monica), Donal (Joanne), Seamus (Isabell), Michael (Fiona), Paul and Eugene (Colette).

A devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Nan’s remains are now reposing at her home where everyone is welcome to pay their respects with Rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Tuesday morning, November 19 at 10.30am for 11am funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church Ballybrack followed by burial in Ballybrack graveyard.

Family time from 10pm to 11am.

Anna French, Lifford

The death has occurred of Anna French (née Rowan), Boyagh, Porthall, Lifford, F93 NT79.

Ms French passed away at her home on Saturday, November 16.

Beloved wife of the late Robert, much loved mother of Tony, Martin, Gerard, Bobby and Paula and sister of Kathleen and the late Gretta, Noel and Wilfred.

Remains reposing at her late residence.

Funeral leaving her home on Tuesday (November 19th)

at 10.20a.m.for Requiem Mass in

St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 11a.m.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughter, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, sister and family circle.

Sally Stewart Shields, Glasgow and Gortahork

The death has occurred of Sally Stewart Shields of Glasgow and formerly of Baltoney, Gortahork.

Ms Shields passed away suddenly in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow on Friday, November 8.

Predeceased by her father Paddy.

Survived by her son Thomas and Katie, her daughter Emmy and Tony, her mother Kathleen, her sister Eileen and Frankie, sister Moya and Kevin, her niece Kitty, nephews Anton, Frankie óg, and Hal and a circle of family and friends.

Funeral from her mother Kathleen’s residence on Monday, November 18 for 11am requiem Mass in Christ the King, Gortahork, F92 DP86, with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Nora T Quinn, Glenties

The death has occurred of Nora T Quinn, Glen Road, Glenties and formerly The Glen Tavern, Greenans, Glenties.

Ms Quinn, who was a retired school teacher, passed away on Saturday, November 16.

Deeply regretted by her nephews Fr.Denis G Quinn and Pat Gallagher , nieces Isabell and Annie Gallagher, Mary, Annie and Evelyn Quinn, grand nieces, grand nephews , cousins, neighbours and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Denis and Annie Quinn, her sister Mary Josephine, brothers John and Cormac.

Removal from her home on Monday evening at 5.30pm to Church of the Holy family, Edeninfagh, for 6pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12noon with burial afterwards in the family plot Edeninfagh.

Betty Pitcher, Inver

The death has occurred of Betty Pitcher, Walsall, England and formerly Cranny Lower, Inver.

Ms Pitcher passed away on Thursday, August 8.

Pre-deceased by her husband Ray (Roy) and son Paul.

Sadly missed by her sons Mark, Colin and Charles and their extended families.

Ashes to return to Inver for interment in St Naul’s Cemetery, Ardaghey, on Sunday 24th November 2024 at 2pm

Phyllis Mullin, Omagh/ Donegal/ Galway

The death has occurred of Phyllis (Bridget Philomena) Mullin (née Harte), 9 Summerfield Court, Omagh and formerly of Donegal and Galway.

Ms Mullin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 15.

Deeply regretted by her family, Fursey, Siobhan (Ballycastle), Martina (Headford), Thomas (Ballycastle), Sínead (Letterkenny), sons-in-law Greg, Tim, and Mark, and daughter-in-law Eimear, grandchildren Tom, Eoin, Ruairi, Cormac, Ewan, and Katie, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Removal from her home on Monday to arrive at Sacred Heart Church BT78 5HE, Omagh, for requiem Mass at 2pm.

Burial afterwards in Drumragh Cemetery, BT78 1SG.

Peter Hoines, Ballyshannon and Tyrone

The death has occurred of Peter Hoines, 2 Assaroe view, Ballyshannon and formerly of Galbally, Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

Mr Hoines passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 16.

Sadly missed by his wife Rose, his children Martina, Kevin (Nikki), Siobhan (Harvey) and Olivia, his grandchildren Ellie and Tallulah, his brother Pat, sister Lena, nieces, nephews and all extended family and friends.

Predeceased by sisters Mary, Sarah and Rosie.

Reposing at his residence on Monday from 2pm to 8pm.

House private at all other times please.

Removal on Tuesday morning to St.Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon, for 11am funeral Mass, followed by burial afterward in St. John the Baptist cemetery, Galbally, Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

Josephine Canning, Dublin and Downings

The death has occurred of Josephine Canning (née Gallagher), Malahide, Dublin and formerly of Downings.

Ms Canning passed away peacefully in the care of the Bon Secours Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 15.

Very sadly missed by her loving husband Liam, children Seamus, Nora, Mary, Paddy, Nuala and Bairbre, daughter-in-law Rosemary, sons-in-law Paul, Conor, Mick and Shane, her adored grandchildren Ronan, Hugh, Kevin, Nora, Conall, Paddy and Rory, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing in Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock, on Tuesday, November 19, from 3pm to 5pm.

Removal to St. Sylvester’s Church, Malahide, on Wednesday morning for 11am Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium.
