Shaun Martin McClafferty, Gortahork

The tragic death has taken place of Shaun Martin Mc Clafferty, Baltoney, Gortahork.

Predeceased by his grandparents; John and Máire McClafferty, his aunt Cáit McFadden, and his papa Martin Darcy.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, Michael and Sharon, sister Sara, nannie Sheila Darcy, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top Letterkenny this evening, Monday, at 5pm going to the family home in Baltoney.

Removal and wake is private for family only, however, all are welcome to attend the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place in Teach Pobail Chríost Rí, Gortahork on Thursday  at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Jean Stewart, Ramelton

The death has occurred of Jean Stewart, née McGonigle, Roughan, Ramelton, peacefully in Áras Uí Dhomhnaill Nursing Home, Milford.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Maureen, John and Helen, sons-in-law Stuart and Billy, daughter-in-law Margaret, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Rev Dr Herbert Mc Gonigle, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Reposing at the residence of her son John and Margaret Stewart, Roughan, Ramelton. House private please at the request of the deceased.

Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 4 at 1pm in Ramelton Presbyterian Church. Burial afterwards in Bank Cemetery.

Owen Roe O’Neill, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Owen Roe O’Neill, East Port, Ballyshannon, F94 PH67, peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, under the exceptional care of the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Medical Seven Ward at Sligo University Hospital. 

Owen Roe had previously been in the excellent care of the staff at the Garden View Ward, Ballyshannon Community Hospital, GP’s at Bayview Family Practice.  

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Agnes O’Neill, loving sisters Cait and Ann, and brother, Joe. 

Dearest and most beloved husband and best friend of Maura (née Rasdale), adored father to his sons, Shane, Eoghan Ruadh, and Barry, and his cherished daughter, Louise. 

A cherished grandad to his ten grandchildren: Orlaith, Sean, Callum, Holly, Emma, Oisín, Saoirse, Owen, Joshua, and Charlotte. 

Deeply missed by his daughters-in-law, Mary, Cathy, and Lorraine, and his son-in-law, Anthony. 

Sadly missed by nieces Marie, Siobhan (David) and Grainne (Tommy), and by his brothers-in-law, Tony (Ann) and Gerard (Josephine, RIP) and their families. 

Reposing at his late residence on Monday and Tuesday from 2pm to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday from his residence at 10.20am going to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am with Service of Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, The Rock, Ballyshannon. 

Donations in memory of Owen Roe to the Patients Comfort Fund at Ballyshannon Community Hospital c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors or any family member.

Patricia Wilson, Ballintra

The death has occurred of Patricia Wilson, Derries, Ballintra, F94 AT18 and formerly from England, peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by her loving family. 

Patricia is predeceased by her husband Robert, loving mother to Sam and Daniel, grandmother to Olivia and Rowan. Dearly missed by all of her extended family, friends, neighbours and her family from Salford, Manchester. 

Remains reposed at her residence on Sunday. House private at all other times please. Removal on Monday to Ballintra Methodist Church for 2pm Funeral Service with burial afterwards in Drumholm Graveyard.

Dom Murray, Bray and formerly Bundoran

Dominick (Dom) Murray, late of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Bundoran, passed away peacefully on March 1 surrounded by his loving family and in the care of Beacon Hospital, Sandyford. 

Cherished son of the late Kathleen and Dominick, beloved husband of Jennifer, much loved dad of Jill, Chris, Matthew and Robert, cherished grandfather of Elio, Iris, Thea, Ben, Hannah, Ava and Kate, dearly loved brother of John, Bríd, Páid, Proinnsias, Eamonn, Mary, Connie and the late Joe, he will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday from 4pm-7pm. 

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray followed by cremation in Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W. No flowers please.

Margaret Fox, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital on Saturday of Margaret (Peg) Fox, née Leigh, Foxleigh, 34 Ballyraine Park, Letterkenny F92 NXF2. Deeply missed by her loving daughters Susan and Claire, sons Graham (Avril), Douglas (Siobhan) and Neil (Caroline), eleven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ann Fox (England), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. 

Margaret is predeceased by her husband John (2016).  

Removal from The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Tuesday  at 11am going to her late residence. Remains reposing there on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2pm until after the Rosary at 9pm. 

Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.30am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657. Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery. Family time on the morning of the funeral please. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice and Northwest Parkinson’s Association of Ireland c/o any family member. 

John Doogan, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of John Doogan, St. Benildus Avenue, Ballyshannon. 

He died peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Our Lady’s Hospital, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim.

Mary McFadden, Fintown

The peaceful death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, of Mary McMahon, Fintown.

Mary reposed in St. Colmcille’s Chapel, Fintown on Sunday.

Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Monday with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

House is strictly private please. 

Mary is survived by her sister Meave and brother Connie and predeceased by her parents, sister Breid and brothers Pete and Gerry.

Rose Ann Hoines, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Rose Ann Hoines (née McGilly), 2 Assaroe Vew, Ballyshannon, F94 NP48 formerly of Killymoyle, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Peter John Hoines and sadly missed by her children, Martina, Kevin (Nikki), Siobhan (Harvey) and Olivia, her granddaughters, Ellie and Tallulah, her sister, Alice, brothers, Frank, Paul and Jim, nieces, nephews and all extended family and friends.

Reposing at her residence on Sunday and Monday from 2pm to 8pm. House private at all other times please. 

Removal on Tuesday morning to St.Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for 11am funeral Mass, followed by burial afterward in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Galbally, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone. 

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

 Christopher (Christy) McDaid, Dublin and Bundoran

The death has occurred of Christopher (Christy) McDaid, Bundoran and Dublin.

Mr McDaid passed away after a short illness bravely and courageously borne on Wednesday, February 26 with soulmate and best friend Mirette by his side, having been in the excellent care of Professor Orla McArdle and her team at SLRON at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Ellen, his brother and sister, Charles Joseph and Mary Patricia, who both died in infancy, and by his brother Bishop Emeritus Liam MacDaid.

Christy was a former and retired teacher at Presentation Brothers N.S. Glasthule and Willow Park School Blackrock.

He was Founder and Leader of Willow Wheelers Cycling Club.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his cycling and missionary communities in Dublin, Africa and Brazil, also by his cousins and extended family and by his wide circle of friends and former colleagues.

Commemorative Mass at 11.30am Saturday, March 1 at Church of the Assumption – Booterstown, Dublin followed by drive-through Willow Park School and Blackrock College.

Funeral prayers at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran (F94E92F) on Monday morning, March 3 at 11.20am followed by removal to arrive for funeral Mass at 12 noon at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran, followed by burial at St. Ninnidh’s Cemetery, Newtown, Bundoran.
