Mary Leahy, Bundoran and Glenties

 Dr Tony Bonar, Dunfanaghy

The death has occurred of Dr Tony Bonar, Hornhead, Dunfanaghy.

Dr Bonar, a retired family doctor, passed away on Sunday, March 23.

He is predeceased by his loving and much loved wife Peronelle, his brothers Canon Hugo, Donal, Pearse, Kevin and Brendan and his sisters Brighdín (Kenny) and Maureen (Scally).

Greatly loved and missed by his children Sarah, Richard, Catherine and Patrick, his adored grandchildren Alex, Aine, Ellie, Jamie and Molly, his brother Bosco, sisters-in-law Gillian and Bernadette, son-in-law Steve and daughter’s-in-law Jennifer and Nessa, his nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, his extended family and also by his many friends and neighbours.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence in Hornhead on Monday, March 24 from 3pm.

Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy on Wednesday, March 26 at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Bridget Lynch, Buncrana

The peaceful death has occurred at Beach Hill Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family, of Bridget Lynch, 26 St. Joseph’s Park, Buncrana.

Bridget is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Kathleen, and her brothers, Daniel and Liam.

Bridget will be sadly missed and never forgotten by her loving family, her sister, Eileen (Tommy) and her brothers, Edward, Michael (Pamela), her cherished nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and the wider family circle.

Funeral on Monday leaving at 10am going to St Mary’s Church Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary Donaghey, Convoy

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Mary Donaghey (née Gallagher), Magheracorran, Convoy, F93 E168, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband, James, parents, Mick and Eveleen, daughter-in-law, Kathleen, brothers, Josie, Tommy, Hughie, and Patrick.

Survived by Michael (Rose), Kathleen (Gerry), Evelyn (Shaun), James, John, (Bridie), Mary (Paul), Patricia (Declan) Josephine, Patrick, Annette, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Wake is from 11am to 10pm on Monday.

Funeral leaving her late residence on Tuesday at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Convoy at 11am with interment in the old cemetery.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Eugene Gillen, Manorcunningham

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Eugene Gillen, Corkey, Manorcunningham.

Deeply regretted by his sisters, Eileen Brady, Isobel McConnell, Mary Devenney and Carmel O’Donnell, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his, parents Ellen and Daniel and his brothers, Danny and Packie.

Funeral Mass on Monday, March 24 at 11am in Church of All Saints, Newtowncunningham.

Burial afterwards in Drumoghill Cemetery.

The peaceful death has taken place at her late residence of Bridie Gallagher, Drumfin, Falcarragh,  F92F791.

Predeceased by her husband, John, her son, Joe, sisters, Marie, Madge and Eileen, brothers, Joe and Pat.

Survived by her daughters, Patricia, Eileen and Bernadette, sons, Danny, John Anthony and Paul.

Also sadly missed by her sister, Elizabeth and brother, Hughie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.

Bridie’s remains reposed at her late residence, Drumfin, Falcarragh on Friday evening for family only.

Funeral Mass on Monday at 12 noon in St Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Kathleen Patterson, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Kathleen Patterson (née Shiels), 17 Ashbrook, Letterkenny, F92 XPR8 (formerly of Cashel, Kindrum, Fanad).

Kathleen will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Stephen, son, Adrian, daughters-in-law, Catriona and Moira, granddaughters, Nessa and Oonagh, brothers, J.P. and George (Maria), sisters, Susan and Anne (Chris), nieces, nephews and friends.

Kathleen is predeceased by her son, Ciarán, sister, Margaret and brothers, Hugh and Gerard.

Funeral Mass in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny at 11am on Monday with burial afterwards in Fanavolty Cemetery, Kindrum, Fanad.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the palliative care team, Letterkenny University Hospital.

Donal Whelan, Ardara

The death has occurred of Donal Whelan, Hillhead, Ardara.

Donal will be sadly missed by his daughter, Aoife, his parents, Bart and Rosemarie, his brothers and sisters, Sandra, JohnJoe, Adrian, Ronan, Tracy, Cathy, Kieran, Mary and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Funeral from the family home on Monday, March 24  going to the church of the Holy Family, Ardara for funeral Mass at 11am followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, County Cavan at 3pm.

House private please and on the morning of the funeral

Greg Rintoul, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Greg Rintoul, Donegal Town, formerly Wicklow and Edinburgh, peacefully at Galway University Hospital.

Deeply regretted and forever missed by his beloved wife, Irene, children, Jamie (Nikola) and Jenny (Anthony) and his adoring grandchildren, Max, Bonnie, Sam and Isla.

Greg passed after a courageous battle surrounded by love from all his family including siblings Hugh, Heather, Martin, Kevin, Tara and David.

Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Irene and siblings Robyn, Violet and Linda.

Greg will be missed by all his and Irene’s extended family and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard followed by burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery.

House strictly private at all times, family flowers only, all donations in lieu of the Irish Cancer Society.

Mary Leahy, Bundoran and Glenties

The death has taken place of Mary Leahy, (née Doogan), No. 1, Church Rd, Bundoran and formerly of Glenties.

She died on Thursday,  peacefully in the exceptional care of all at Sligo University Hospital.
Predeceased by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth.

Mary will be forever loved and sadly missed by her loving family, her sons, Pat, Daniel and Tommy, daughters, Sheila, Angela and Bernadette, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, her beloved 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, close family friend Bernie Coffey and all her relatives, neighbours and great friends, especially all the Doogan and Ward families.

Removal from Breslin’s on Monday at 10.30am to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

Removal afterwards to St. Ninnidh’s Cemetery for burial service.
