Daithí Harvey, Letterkenny

The death took place on Saturday, January 4 of Daithí Harvey, 10 Thorndale, Letterkenny. 

Deeply missed by his loving mother Tamara, her partner James Buchanan and his children Leanne, Richard and Jennifer, gGranny Margaret, aunts and uncles Nicola (Garret), Kelvin (Sarah), Donnan, Odhrán (Ciara) and Caolán (Deusa), cousins and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours – Letterkenny and Tyrone. 

Daithí is predeceased by his grandfather Joe (2021).  

Daithí’s remains are reposing at his home at 10 Thorndale, Letterkenny F92 VYN5 on Tuesday from 12 noon, with rosary at 9pm. Family time after the rosary please. 

Funeral from there on Wednesday 10.30am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on the parish YouTube channel.

Interment afterward in Conwal Cemetery. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Eileen Patterson, Lifford

The death has taken place at Brindle Manor, Donegal of Eileen Patterson, (née McClure), The Haw, Lifford, and formerly of Callan, Drumkeen.

Beloved wife of the late Stephen (S). Loving mother of Linda, Gwen, Michelle and Stephen. Dear mother-in-law of David, Ivan, Ivor and Melanie; a devoted grandmother of Gareth, Andrew, Matthew, Amelia, Reece, Taylor and the late George and a great-grandmother of Rosa and Hugo.

Funeral leaving her late home at The Haw, Lifford at 11.30am on Thursday for 12 noon service in Strabane Presbyterian Church followed by burial in Donaghmore Presbyterian Church graveyard.

Family flowers only, donations if wished to Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny.

Friends are welcome to visit at the family home on Wednesday from 2pm-9pm

Terence Ferry, Dublin and Dunfanaghy

The death took place on Sunday of Terence (Terry) Ferry, South Circular Road, Dublin 8 and formerly of Dunfanaghy, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff of Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (Alleguen) and loving dad of Jane and Caroline. Terry will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, Dermot, Miles, Mary-Kate, Adam, Connie and Cillian, his brother Brendan, nieces, nephews, his wide circle of family, neighbours and friends.  

Reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St. Teresa’s Church, Donore Ave, followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium.

Margaret Sharkey, Kincasslagh

The death has taken place in Dungloe Community Hospital of Margaret Sharkey, Mullaghderg (née O’Donnell, Ranafast). 

Wife of the late Pa Sharkey, mother to Bridget, Margaret, Grace, James, Aileen and Patrick. Predeceased by Pa and Grace. 

Her remains are reposing in her home in Mullaghderg (F94 F9V4) on Monday from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Wake on Tuesday from 11am with Rosary at 8pm. 

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Kincasslagh with interment in the old cemetery at the church.

Bernie McDonagh, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Bernie McDonagh, Lawne Park, Ballyshannon.

Mr McDonagh passed away peacefully at North West Hospice, Sligo surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 5.

Reposing at John McGee & Sons funeral home, Belleek Road, Ballyshannon  F94ED21 on Tuesday, January 7 at 2pm to 5pm.

Removal on Wednesday, January 8 to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for 11am funeral Mass with burial afterwards in The Abbey Cemetery.

Kathleen Glackin, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Kathleen Glackin (née Mc Menamin), Glenfin Road, Ballybofey.

Ms Glackin passed away peacefully at Brindley Manor Nursing Home, Convoy, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 5.

Beloved wife of Charles, much loved mother of Eamon (Eileen), Jim (Gillian), Susan (Peter), Margaret, Mary, Stephen (Kerry), Charles (Tina), Catherine (John), John (Louan), Paul (Ann Marie) cherished sister of Paddy, Jimmy, Charlie, Mary, Margaret, also the late Eddie, Willie, Michael.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, sisters, brother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on Monday, January 6 and Tuesday, January 7 from 2pm until 10pm.

Funeral leaving from her home on Wednesday, January 8 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am with interment afterwards in Drumboe cemetery.

James Gerald Anderson, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of James Gerald (Jimmy) Anderson, Tycallen, Stranorlar.

Mr Anderson passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Saturday, January 4.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved father to Mary, (Knut) and Tony, (Wendy) cherished brother of Beattie, Isobel, and the late Hazel.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, sisters, son in law, daughter in law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Reposing at Mc Cool’s Chapel of Rest, Ballybofey on Monday, January 6 from 3pm until removal at 5pm to the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar to repose overnight.

Requiem Mass at 11am on Tuesday, January 7 with interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Churchyard, Sessiaghoneill.

Patsy McGrath, Pettigo

The death has occurred of Patsy McGrath, Mill Street, Pettigo.

Mr McGrath passed away after a short illness in Sligo University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 4.

Predeceased by his wife Anne, and loving father of Winnie, Pauric, Paul, Aidan, Dermott, Diane, Declan, Lorraine and the late Desmond R.I.P.

Patrick will be reposing at his late residence with a walk through system on Monday from 1pm to 9pm with family time please outside of these hours.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Pettigo followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sorrowing daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Marie and Anna and pre-deceased brother Dessie, sister in law Mary, brother in law Michael, and pre-deceased brother-in-law Pauric and entire family circle.

Paddy McLaughlin, Athlone and formerly Burtonport and Rathmullan

The death has taken place of Paddy McLaughlin, Roscommon Road, Athlone and late of Burtonport and Rathmullan

A retired member of the Defence Forces, he died peacefully in the loving presence of his family on Friday in the excellent care of the staff in the ICU at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, three  days after his 80th birthday.

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Margaret McLaughlin and siblings Rose (McBride), John and Tony.

Beloved husband for 58 years of Annette (née Warde, Baylough). Cherished father of Enda, Fiona Connolly and Karen Dempsey. Much loved father-in-law to Michelle Jessop, John and Paul. Dearly loved grandfather to Cian, Thomas, Caleb and Gabriel McLaughlin, Lauren , Evan, Megan and Rachel Connolly, Kate and Adam Dempsey. Great-grandfather to Teddy Troute and Mabel Connolly Griffin.

Sadly missed by his family, brother-in-law Nick Warde, Baylough, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, ex colleagues and neighbours.

Reposing at the Strand Funeral Home (N37 WY17) on Monday evening from 4pm to 6pm.

Mass of the resurrection on Tuesday at 11am in St Peter and Paul’s Church followed by burial in Kiltoom cemetery.

Donal Kelly, Dublin and Buncrana

The death has taken place of Donal Kelly, Flower Grove, Glenageary, Dublin and formerly of Buncrana.

He passed away peacefully on January 3 in the wonderful care of Altadore Nursing Home, Glenageary.

Cherished husband of Ann and much-loved father of Fergal and Damian. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kitty and husband Pat, sister-in-law Frances and husband Tom, brothers-in-law Micheal, Tom, Seamus and Paul, daughters-in-law Orla and Jennifer and his beloved grandchildren Lia, Ethan, Luca, Adam and Amy, many nieces and nephews, his former RTÉ colleagues and many friends, including those in the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir.

Reposing at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Newtown Park Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin (A94 X308) on Tuesday January 7 from 5pm to 7pm.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday January 8 at 10am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Glenview Road, Glenageary, Co. Dublin (A96 EY91), followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harolds Cross.

James Harty,  Ballyshannon and Waterford

The death has occurred of James (Jamie) Harty. Newport, South Wales.

He passed away peacefully after a short illness on h December 11, aged 60 years.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Claire, née Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon.

Missed and cherished by his sisters Maggie, Sue and Anna, mother-in-law Teresa Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and all his friends.

Requiem Mass to take place on Thursday, January 9 at 1.30pm at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Newport, South Wales followed by cremation at Langstone Vale Crematorium at 3pm.

A Mass will be offered for Jamie in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon at a later date.

Joseph Houston, Cloghan and England

The death has occurred of Joseph Houston, Lettershanbo, Cloghan and formerly Lettershanbo, Cloghan.

He died peacefully at his home in Birmingham, England in his 100th year.

Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved father to Angela, (James) Caroline (Craig) and John (Helen).

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces in Ireland and England, (Mc Cool family, Hone family, Houston family) extended family and friends.

Joe’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, January 13 at 11am in the Church of St. Joseph and St. Helen, Kings Norton, with interment in St. Nicholas Churchyard, Kings Norton.
