Eamonn Martin, Fanad

The death has taken place of Eamonn Martin, Shannagh, Ballylar, Fanad, Co Donegal.

Peacefully at The Donegal Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Peggy, and his sisters Mary Chappell and Katie Gibbons.

Deeply regretted by his brother Michael (retired Garda, Thorne Road Letterkenny), and cousin John (Cashel, Fanad).

Sadly missed by his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Eamonn’s remains are reposing at his late residence (F92 X678).

Removal from there on Saturday morning, October 11 at 10.30am,  going to St Mary’s Church, Fanavolty, Fanad for requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

The requiem Mass will be recorded, and later uploaded on the Mc Ateer Funeral Directors Facebook page.

Margaret Bonner, Annagry

The peaceful death has taken place of Margaret Bonner nee Forker at her home in Annagry surrounded by her loving sons James, Michael and daughter Jackie, daughter in law Maria and son in law Michael.

Predeceased by her husband Joe, parents Mickey and Rosie Forker, her sister Mary-Ellen and brothers Joe, Donal and Owenie.

Sadly missed by her brothers Willie, Paddy and Michael, in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, nephews and wider family and friends.

She will repose at her home today, Friday from 12 noon.

Rosary at 8pm on both nights.

Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Annagry at 11am on Saturday, October 11, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

House private on the morning of the funeral.

Oliver Allen, Muff

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Oliver Allen, Aught Road, Muff.

Loving husband of Anna and much-loved father of Bobby and Lisa Toland.

Deeply regretted by his brother Dan and his sister Margaret.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing at his late residence.

Removal from there on Saturday at 10:15am going to the Sacred Heart Church, Muff for 11am requiem Mass followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr Helen McGinty, Donegal Town, Letterkenny and Balbriggan

The death has occurred of Sr Helen McGinty, Clar, Co Donegal and formerly of Loreto Convent Balbriggan and Loreto Convent Letterkenny.

Sr McGinty passed away peacefully at the Beaumont Hospital on Wednesday, October 8.

Predeceased by her parents, mother Brigid Toher and father Bernard.

Deeply regretted by her Loreto Community, her sisters Kathleen Meehan (Seamus RIP), Noreen Rooney (Peter) and Mai Mac Auley (Gerry).

Greatly missed by her loving nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, arriving at St Agatha’s Church, Clar, Co Donegal (F94 N821) on Friday, October 10 at approximately 6 pm.

Burial will be immediately afterwards in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr Helen has asked that on her behalf, we express her heartfelt gratitude for the loving care, compassion, and support she received throughout her life.

To her cherished family, to the Loreto Community, dedicated carers, kind staff and dear friends, your presence, your prayers, and gentle care brought her comfort, peace, and deep joy.

You walked beside her with grace and kindness surrounding her with love to the very end.

Sr Helen lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love, and she was blessed to be held in that same spirit by all of you.

With deep appreciation and love.

Charlie Logan, Raphoe

The death has occurred of Charlie Logan, London and formerly of The Diamond, Raphoe.

Mr Logan passed away in London on October 3.

Charlie is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife Kathleen, his children Emma, Brian, and Kevin, his cherished grandchildren, his brother Ollie, sisters Etta, Gertie and Jean, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

He will be fondly remembered by all his family in London, Raphoe, and his connections in Buncrana.

Charlie was predeceased by his beloved parents Charlie and Sadie Logan, and his brothers Tommy and Willie.

The funeral service for Charlie is at the Roman Catholic Church of St Paul, Harefield on Thursday, October 16 at 11am.

A short service with prayers will also be held at the church on Wednesday, October 15 at 7pm.

After the service, you are warmly invited to join Charlie’s family at The Shamrock Sports and Social Club to share a drink and memories in his honour.

Michael Friel, Kerry and Clonmany

The death has occurred of Michael Friel, Leedale, Caherslee, Tralee, Co Kerry and formerly of Dunaff, Clonmany, Co Donegal.

Mr Friel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8.

He is the beloved husband of Breda and dearest father of James and Michael.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his grandchildren Elly and Rowan, daughters-in-law Brenda and Sarah, brothers Danny, Bernard, Gerard, Christy and John, sister Teresa Ann, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many good friends.

Michael will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Friday, October 10 from 6 to 8 pm.

Funeral arriving to Our Lady & St. Brendan’s Church, Tralee on Saturday at 12.30 pm where the requiem Mass for Michael will be celebrated at 1 pm (streamed on www.stbrendansparishtralee.net).

Followed by private cremation.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to The Palliative Care Unit, U.H.K. (via “Donation” link below – Kerry Hospice Foundation), or care of The Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee.

Angela Callaghan, Burt

The death has occurred at her residence of Angela Callaghan (Callaghan’s Motorway Stores/Callaghan’s Electrical), Bohullion, Burt.

Predeceased by her loving parents John and Mary Margaret Callaghan and her loving brother Fintan.

Sadly missed by her loving brother Dessie, her loving sister Sylvia Carton her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

WAKE IS PRIVATE AT THE REQUEST OF THE DECEASED.

Removal on Friday afternoon, October 10 at 1pm going to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for requiem Mass at 1.30pm followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Francie McAteer, 238 Lower Mount Marian, Milford.

Mr McAteer passed away peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital on Wednesday, October 8.

Loving father of Mary, Philomena, Margaret, Kathleen, Gabriel and John.

Deeply regretted by his family, grandchildren Darragh and David Power, Bronagh, Niall and Aoibhin Mc Ateer, Oisin and Eoin Meadows, son-in-law John, sisters Bridie Boyle, Kathleen Ward and Margaret Keeney, sister-in-law Sheila McAteer, brother-in-law Colm Sweeney, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Sophie, brothers Paddy, Gerard and Jimmy, sisters May, Nora, Agnes and Eithne.

Requiem Mass on Friday, October 10 at 11am in St Peter’s Church, Milford.

Henry Patterson, Dunfanaghy

The death has occurred of Henry Patterson, Cloonmass, Dunfanaghy.

Mr Patterson passed away peacefully in The Donegal Hospice on Monday, October 6.

Beloved husband of Anne, much loved father of Louise and Daisy, father-in-law of Andy, dear brother of the late Stephen Patterson, treasured son-in-law and brother-in-law and cherished member of the extended family.

Funeral Service will be held in the Presbyterian Church, Dunfanaghy, F92 RR44 on Friday, October 10 at 10.30 am.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Co Cavan at 4 pm.

Mary B Ferry, Derrybeg

The death has occurred of Mary B Ferry (née Boyd), Lower Brinalack, Derrybeg.

Ms Ferry passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Tuesday, October 7.

Predeceased by her husband Brianaí, parents; Máire Rua and Joe, sisters; Sarah and Maggie, nephew Ned and dear friend Bríd Mhicí.

Sady missed by her sons; Danny Rua and Éamonn, daughter-in-law Maire, grandchildren; Brían, Órlaith, Conall and Eimear and extended family & friends.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 10, at 11am in Teach Pobail Cholmcille, Cnoc Fola (F92 D586), burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Eileen McDermott, Roscommon and Clonmany

The death took place on Friday, September 26 of Eileen McDermott (née Doherty), Birmingham, UK, late of Scrine, Rahara, Co Roscommon and formerly of Clonmany.

Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving husband, Frank, daughter, Nicola, son, Francis, grandsons, William, Rory and Ellis, granddaughter, Clementine, daughter-in-law, Hannah, brothers, Colm and Bernard, sister, Mary Frances, nieces, nephews,relatives, neighbours and friends.

Eileen is predeceased by her parents, Barney and Madge.

Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, October 10 at 11am in Church of Mary Immaculate, Rahara with burial afterwards in Rahara Cemetery.

Funeral Mass will be live-streamed.
