Annie Walsh, Loughanure and Cloughwally

The death has occurred of Annie Walsh (née Molloy), Loughanure and formerly Cloughwally.

Ms Walsh passed away peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, in the presence of her loving family, on Thursday, September 12.

Predeceased by her husband Patrick.

Sadly missed by her sons James, Hugh and P.J, sister Kitty, daughters-in-law Mary, Mary and Deirdre, her grandchildren, Caoimhe, Aidan, Eimear, Conor, Eoghan, Keelan, Liam, Shane, Áine and Dáire and extended family.

Her remains will repose in her home in Loughanure (F94 RP1H) today, Friday, from 3 p.m., with the rosary at 9 p.m. each night in her home.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, September 15 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Annagry, with interment in the new graveyard.

John McGinley, Fanad

The death has occurred of John McGinley, Leatmore, Fanad.

Mr McGinley passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Thursday, September 12.

Predeceased by his parents Mickey and Ellen and brother James.

Deeply regretted by his sisters Norah Roper (Rossnowlagh), Sheila Devenney (Hertfordshire, England) and brother Michael (Leatmore).

Sadly missed by his extended family, neighbours and many friends.

John Ferry, Dunkineely

The death has occurred of John Ferry, Meenabrock, Dunkineely.

Mr Ferry passed away on Wednesday, September 11.

He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, of Cashel, Creeslough.

There will be no wake.

The Funeral Mass will take place in St. Michael’s Church, Creeslough, on Monday, September 16, at 11 am with burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.

James Blaney, Louth and Rathmullan

The death has occurred of James Blaney, Newrath, Castlebellingham, Louth and formerly Rathmullan.

Mr Blaney passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 11.

Predeceased by his mother Annie. Deeply mourned by his daughters Ruth and Caoimhe and their mother Denise (Clarkin), sisters Mary and Margaret, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at the family home (Eircode A91 E065) from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, September 14 and from 2pm to 8pm on Sunday, September 15.

There will be a Funeral Service on Monday, September 16, in Dardistown Crematorium (Eircode K67 HP26) at 1.30pm.

Connie Maguire, Lismonaghan, Letterkenny, formerly of Glen Road, Glenties

The peaceful death has occurred at his home of Connie Maguire, Lismonaghan, Letterkenny (F92 P9DT), formerly of Glen Rd., Glenties and ESB.

He will be forever loved and missed by his heartbroken wife Ursula (née Crawford) and his daughters Michelle Yeates, Caroline Spillane and Joanne Cahill, his sons-in-law, Kevin, Tony and John, his brothers Dom, Gerard, Enda, Patrick, Brendan and sisters Dolores Garden , Dympna Wordie, Colette Devine and Rosie Whelehan, his sisters-in-law, Fay, Elaine, Christine and Patricia, brothers-in-law Billy, Graham, Kevin and David, and Mary and Paul Kennedy and Gerard Luttrell.

Beloved grandfather of Emily, Michael, Rory, Rachel & Orla.

Deeply regretted by his family, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues in the ESB and St Eunan’s G.A.A. Club, Letterkenny.

Reposing at his late residence today, Friday, September 13, from 12 noon to 9p.m.

The death has occurred of Philip McCafferty, Leabrannagh, Arranmore, Co. Donegal, peacefully at the home of his daughter, Bridie (Kelly), Kellystown, Knocknahur, Sligo, in the presence of his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Teresa; daughters Mary and Margaret; son, Neil and infant great grandson, Senán.

Dearly loved and sadly missed by his daughters Anne, Bridie and Sheila and sons Connie, Michael, Philip and John; grandchildren Therese, Karen, Christine, Christopher, Amanda, Mark, Feidhlim, Aine, Erin, Eve, Aaron, Brendan, Maeve, Enya, Finn, Tom and Alice; great grandchildren Emma, Christopher, Muireann, Cara and Maeve, sons in law Tommy and Hugh Gerard; daughters in law, Maureen, Martina and Melanie; neighbours and friends.

Phillie’s remains will repose in McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe today, Friday, September 13 from 2pm to 4pm before travelling to the family home in Leabrannagh on the 5:30pm ferry that day.

Phillie’s remains will repose in the family home until 11pm today, Friday, and from 12 noon to 11pm on Saturday.

Rosary in Phillie’s home on Friday and Saturday nights at 9:00pm.

John Bonner, Ballygawley, New Mills, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has occurred surrounded by his loving family in Letterkenny University Hospital of John Bonner, Ballygawley, New Mills, Letterkenny, County Donegal, F92 AO98.

His remains will repose at the family residence from 4pm to 10pm today, Thursday September 12th and from 11am to 10pm tomorrow, Friday September 13th.

Rosary both nights at 9pm.

A shuttle bus will be in operation from 4.30pm both days from Glenswilly national school.

The death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of John Dolan, Liskey, Ballindrait, Lifford, Co Donegal, F93 XFH2.

Lovingly missed by his wife Anne, son John J (Cara), daughters Andrea (Trevor) and Finola (Martin) his grandchildren, Darragh, Mia, Scarlett and Eva. His brother James, Gabriel and Frankie, nieces, nephews and all his extended family and friends.

John was predeceased by his parents Jim and Margaret, his sister Mary and brother Charlie. RIP

The death has taken place September 11th 2024 at her home of Bridget Cassidy (née Gormley), 5 Evish Grove, Strabane.

Beloved wife of the late Mickey Cassidy, much loved mother of Michelle, Augustine, Gary and Breige, dearly loved grandmother of Lynsey, Fergal, Michaela, Orla, Odhran, Louise, Amy, Beth, Caoimhe, Cliodhna, Theo, Freya and Noah and sister of Edmund and the late Brian, Teresa and Joe.

Reposing at her home today, Friday, September 13.

Funeral leaving her home on Saturday morning, September 14 at 9.30a.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane at 10a.m.

Interment afterwards in Strabane Cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother and family circle.

The death has occurred of Maryann McCreadie (née Cunningham), Crossroads, Dunkineely.

Ms Mc Creadie passed away at Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Killybegs on Wednesday, September 11.

Predeceased by her husband John, her brothers James, Andy, Willie and Peter and her parents James and Lizzie.
Sadly missed by her brother Francis (Dunkineely), her relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will take place today, Friday, September 13 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coole, Cranford at 3.30pm, with interment afterwards in Milford Cemetery.

Susan McCole, Bunbeg

The death has occurred of Susan McCole Middle Dore, Bunbeg.

Ms McCole passed away at Dungloe Community Hospital on Wednesday 11.

Predeceased by her husband Owen Mc Cole, parents; Bridget and Joe Antoin Gallagher, sisters; Mary Gallagher and Nóra Plunkett and brothers; Paddy and Anthony Gallagher.

Sadly missed by her sister Kathleen, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends.

Her remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X), today, Friday from 1pm to 6.30pm.

Removal afterwards to St. Mary’s Church Derrybeg for 7pm to repose overnight.

Mr Gallagher passed away in Florida, USA on May 2, 2024.

Husband of the late Ellen (née Hegarty), brother-in-law of Andy & Patricia Hegarty, Ardaghey.

Funeral Mass will take place in the Church of the Sacred Heart Mountcharles on Saturday, September 14 at 10am, with interment of ashes afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Meehan (née Meehan), Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Meehan (née Meehan), Meenacally, Donegal Town.

Ms Meehan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 10.

Predeceased by her husband John Joe and son Patrick.

Sadly missed by her sons John (Kate), Gerard (Martina), Seamus (Seanna), Declan (Anne), Patsy, Dermot (Jen) and daughters Marie (Seamus), Bried, Christine (Gerry), Noreen (Paul), grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Georgina Doherty (née Long), Dublin and Bruckless

The death has occurred of Georgina Doherty (née Long), Deansgrange, Dublin and formerly Bruckless.

Ms Doherty passed away peacefully in her 95th year, in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff of Dargle Valley Nursing Home on Friday, September 6.

Beloved wife of the late Jack, loving mother of Janet, Derek and the late Robert, mother-in-law of Patrick and Laura and adored Didi of Jonathan, Julian, Samuel, Pippa-Jordan, Kia, Aisling, Alba and Dara; she will be sadly missed by all her family, relatives and friends.

Service of Thanksgiving today, Friday, September 13, at 11am in Dundrum Methodist Church, followed by interment in Shanganagh Cemetery.
