Susan Curran, Carrigart

The sudden death has taken place of Susan Curran (née Shields ), Glen, Carrigart.

Predeceased by her husband Denis (2024) and survived by her sons DJ, Brian, and Maxi and sisters Patsy, Kathleen, and Eileen, and brother, Joe, grandchildren, nieces nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at  her late residence where all are welcome to come and pay their respects today from 11am until after the rosary at 9pm.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to the Church of St. John The Baptist for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Gemma McVeigh, Cavan, Donegal and Fermanagh

The death has occurred of Gemma McVeigh, Cavan / Donegal / Fermanagh.

She passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by her loving family in the Palliative Care Unit at Omagh Hospital. 

Gemma was cherished beyond words and will be forever missed by her adored son Oisín Doran (Eimear), her devoted partner Stephen Kelly, her heartbroken parents Michael and Kitty, and her beloved brothers and sisters Ronan (Elaine), Michelle (Kevin), Aisling (John), Marie Louise (Aidan), and Niall (Riona). She was a treasured aunt and godmother to James, Orlagh, Kate, Luke, Conáll, Laoise, Méabh, Senán, Michael, Etaoin, Lugh, and Solan, each of whom she loved so dearly. 

House strictly private on Friday.  

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed.

Deirdre O’Donnell, Surrey and Letterkenny

The death has occurred at King’s Hospital, London of Deirdre O’Donnell of Woking, Surrey and formerly Lower Sallaghagraine, Letterkenny.

Predeceased by her parents, Joe and May O’Donnell, and sisters, Mary and Eileen. 

Lovingly missed by her children Donnell and Emmeline Stanley and their father Neil Stanley, brothers and sisters, Margaret, John, Pat and Teresa, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and wide circle of friends.  

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny from 3pm to 5.30pm today, where you are most welcome to pay your respects, concluding with removal to St.Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for Reception Prayers at 6pm. 

Reposing overnight for 11am Requiem Mass on Saturday which can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by funeral and burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Sean Furey, Ardara and Letterkenny

The death had occurred of Sean Furey, 10 Beinn Aoibhinn, Letterkenny, formerly Edergole, Ardara and Raheny, Dublin. 

Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen and his baby sister Carmel. Deeply regretted by his son Gareth, his beloved sistersm Pat, Evelyn, Margaret, Teresa and Geraldine, brothers-in-law Oliver, Neil and Cathal, nieces, nephew and wide circle of friends. 

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest. Mountain top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) from 6pm to 8pm on Friday.

Funeral from McCabe’s Funeral Home, Ardara on Saturday going to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara for funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Rehab Unit, St Conal’s Hospital, Letterkenny. House private please.

Marion Darcy, Bruckless

The death has occurred of Marion Darcy (née Lightholder), Bruckless and Ballyfermot. Peacefully in the caring hands of the staff at Donegal Hospice surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank. Forever loved and deeply missed by her daughters, Naomi (Noel), Sonia (Philip), Fiona (Antoine), Laura (Shaun) and Orla (Terence), her adoring grandchildren, Luke, Chloe, Katie, Ella, Molly May, Tilly, Rhys, Poppy, Brooke, Lottie, Paige and Isla, her brother, Gearoid, son, Stuart and children, Caoimhe and Michael.  

Remains reposing on Friday from 5pm to 9pm and on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm at the home of her daughter Laura and son-in-law Shaun, Darney, Bruckless F94 DWF9. 

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, Bruckless.

Burial afterwards in Killybegs cemetery. 

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Donegal Hospice, care of any family member. 

 

Marion Wilson, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Marion Wilson (née Armstrong), The Kelderry, Drimcoe, Mountcharles F94 P861, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and extended family. 

Marion is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Janey Armstrong, her brother, Benjamin, infant son, George, and her beloved husband, Hubert. 

Also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Ruby Farrell (née Wilson), brothers-in-law, John Farrell (RIP Ruby), Bertie Wilson (Daphne), Colin Harrison (Flora), and niece-in-law, Sheena Farrell. 

Marion will be so sadly missed by her daughters, Gillian (Desmond) and Hazel, her son, Matthew (Mags), her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, her sisters, Olive Corrigan (David) and Flora Harrison (RIP Colin), her brother, Bill Armstrong (Lesley), brother-in-law, Matt Wilson, sister-in-law, Daphne Wilson (RIP Bertie), nieces, nephews, nieces-in-law, extended family, and her many friends and neighbours.

Remains are reposing at her late residence. Removal from there on Friday going to the Church of Ireland, Killybegs ( F94 HE27) for funeral service at 1pm, followed by burial in St John’s Churchyard, Inver. 

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the National Council for the Blind Ireland or the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, c/o Gallagher’s Funeral Home, Mountcharles, or any family member.

Kathleen Holmes, Burt

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Kathleen Holmes, Carrownamaddy, Speenouge, Burt.

Lovingly missed by her husband Donal, her daughters and sons, Mary, Charles, Cathy, Donna, Thomas and their partners, her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all her extended family and friends.  

Kathleen is reposing at her late residence. Wake for family and close friends.

Funeral leaving her late residence, Carrownamaddy, Speenogue, Burt, on Friday at 10.30am going to St Aengus Church, Burt for 11am requiem Mass and afterwards travelling to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for 4pm service. 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice, care of any family member or Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe. 

Jerry Donaghey, Bedford, England and formerly Carndonagh

The peaceful death has occurred of Jerry Donaghey in Bedford, England, formerly of Glack, Carndonagh. 

Predeceased by his wife, Mary (Bedford and Quigley’s Point) and son, Philip.

Much loved father of Gerald, Kieran and Rosemary sadly missed by his grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and the wider family circle.

His remains are reposing at the family home in Glack, Carndonagh where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Friday morning at 10.20am going to the Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh for requiem Mass at 11am with interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Cara Hannon, Letterkenny

The sudden, untimely death took place on Tuesday at ICU, Letterkenny University Hospital of Cara Hannon, Listillion, Letterkenny. 

Deeply missed by her loving parents PJ and Nellie, sister, Emma Maguire (Shaun Paul), brother, Patrick (Vivienne), uncles and aunties, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends and colleagues at the Loreto Convent, St. Eunan’s College and Lizzie’s Diner, Dunfanaghy. 

Cara is predeceased by her grandparents, Patrick and Annie Hannon, Leitrim and Charlie and Margaret Gallen, Knocknamona, Letterkenny.  

Cara’s remains are reposing at the family home in Listillion.

Funeral from there on Friday at 10.15am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube Channel.

Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny. 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Irish Heart Foundation or c/o any family member.  

Mary Grace McGarvey, Creeslough

The death has taken place of Mary Grace McGarvey, née Hagney, Ards, Creeslough.

Sadly missed by her daughters Bernadette, Margaret, Geraldine, Pauline and Grace, her sons, Fr.Pat, Martin, Neilis and Noel, sons-in-law, Pat, Denis, Hugh, Fergus, Paul and Michael, daughters-in-law, Mary T, Maria, and Emma, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters, Margaret and Agnes.

Predeceased by her husband Paul and daughter Ann, sisters, Bridie and Catherine and grandson, Martin.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Creeslough on Friday at 11am, burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.
