Conal Gildea, Ardara

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Conal Gildea, Carn, Ardara, formerly of Doohill and Birmingham.

Predeceased by his wife, Bridie, his brothers, Charlie, Hugo, John and Peter, his sister-in-law, Anita and his nephew, Conal.

He will be dearly missed by his brother, Tony, his nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his late residence in Carn. Funeral from there on Saturday, August 2, going to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara,  for funeral Mass at 10am followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Gail Booth, Rathmullan and formerly Dublin

The peaceful death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice of Gail Booth, 6 Kerrs Bay, Rathmullan, formerly Laraghcon, Lucan, Co. Dublin.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband, Ciaran, her adored children, Daniel and Hollie, sisters, Valerie, Lorna and Olivia, brothers, Ken and Thomas, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her much loved dog Cooper.

Predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Liam.

Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Carnamuggagh, Letterkenny, F92 XE35 on Friday August 1 from 5pm until 6pm, when family and friends are welcome to
pay their respects.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 4pm.

Mass can be viewed on MCN Media St Joseph’s Church Rathmullan.

House private please. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Donegal Hospice, c/o any family member. 

 

Niamh Bonner, Derry and formerly Letterkenny

The sudden death has taken place at her home of Niamh Bonner, 16 Central Drive, Creggan, Derry.

A native of Letterkenny, Niamh was the loving mother of Eimear, Ciara, Lauren, Oisin, Aoife and Dara, dear mother-in-law to Gavin, devoted grandmother of Ava, Bronan, Hannah, Hugo, Luca and Cahir, beloved daughter of Kathleen and the late Seamus, cherished sister of Fiachra, Caoimhe, Dualtach, Tiarnan and Aíne and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. 

Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Niamh is reposing at her  home. Funeral leaving there on Saturday at 9.20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. 

Frank Daly, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Frank Daly, Rosedale, The Mullins, Donegal Town, F94 R6F3, peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his loving family. 

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Kay, daughters, Roisin (Noel), Tania (Gavin) grandchildren, Bobby, Rosie, Kai, Brother’s Jim (RIP) and Tony, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. 

Frank’s remains will repose at his late residence in The Mullins from 4pm until 9pm on Thursday, July 31.

Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Killymard at 11am on Friday with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu if so desired to Letterkenny University Hospital patient comfort fund in memory of Frank.

Patrick O’Connor, Wexford and Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Patrick (Paddy) O’Connor, Ballygilliane Big, Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford and late of Ballyshannon.

He was the beloved father of Marina and James, brother of Josephine, Philly, James, Eddie and the late Mary and Kathleen.

Sadly missed by his family, wife, Margaret, daughter-in-law, Beverley, grandchildren, Ricky Michael and Christy.  

Reposing in his residence on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, Rosslare Harbour. Cremation will take place privately.

Danny McNutt, Buncrana

The peaceful passing has taken place of Danny McNutt, Ardaravan, Buncrana. 

Danny passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

A beloved husband to Veronica, Danny was an adoring father to Paul, Stephen, David, and Davina. 

He will be deeply missed by his daughters-in-law, Jacqueline, Margaret, and Christina, his cherished grandchildren, Paul, Andrea, Lisa, Nicholas, Joshua, Rachel, and Jade, and his great-grandchildren, Joseph and Aria. 

Danny’s home in Ardaravan, Buncrana, is open for repose. Private time for family will be observed daily from 9pm to 11am, and on the morning of the funeral. 

The funeral will depart from his home on Friday, August 1, at 10.20am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am Requiem Mass, with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.   

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made to McLaughlin and McLaughlin Funeral.

John Dominic Magill, Falcarragh

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice of John Dominic Magill, Derryreel, Falcarragh  (F92 N778).

His remains will repose at his home on Thursday, July 31 and Friday from 1pm to 9pm.

Rosary nightly at 9pm. House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, August 2 at 11am in St. Finian’s Church, Falcarragh. Interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on the church webcam.

Joseph (Joe) Davies, Derry, Buncrana and Louth

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Davies, Limavady Road, Derry and formerly of Drogheda, Co Louth.

Mr Davies, who was a solicitor in Buncrana, passed away peacefully at the Foyle Hospice on Monday, July 28.

Beloved son of the late John and Rosin, loving brother of Seamus, Karl and John, brother-in-law of Patti, Bernadette and Edel and much loved
uncle of Eleanor, John-Paul, Brian, James, Katie, Lauren, Isabella and cousin Bobby.

Sadly missed by relatives, dear friends and work colleagues.

Reposing at W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral service will take place there on Saturday at 1pm.

A private cremation will take place later.

No flowers please.

Donations can be made in Joe’s memory to a cancer charity of your choice. 

Jimmy McGinley, Glasgow and Gaoth Dobhair

The death has occurred of Jimmy McGinley, Glasgow and formerly Gaoth Dobhair

Mr McGinley passed away peacefully at his home in Glasgow surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 27.

Beloved husband of the late Mary, loving Dad of Gerard, Patricia, Mary, James, Pauline, Sean, Michael, Con, Martin and the late Mags, father in-law to Tricia, Joe, John, Denise, Kitty, Louise and Brenda, granda of Maria, Joseph, Conor, Ciara, Aislinn, Aiden, Niall, Erin, Eoin, Mary-Kate, Monica, James, Eilish, Caitlin, Michael, Kian, Alannah, Orla, Niamh and Enya, great granda to Callah and Aiden and brother to Patsy.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home Derrybeg (F92 DN4X) on Thursday, July 31 from 3pm to 8pm, with rosary at 8pm.

Private removal following the rosary to his home in Glassagh.

Funeral Mass will be held in St Colmcille’s Church, Knockfola, on Saturday, at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
