The death has occurred of Edgar Scott, Forest Lodge, Horn Head, Dunfanaghy and Magheralin, Craigavon, Co Armagh.

Mr Scott passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 16.

Much loved and sadly missed by his sons Daniel and Peter, wife Dawn, his mother Jean, sister Diane and brother Roy, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his father Sammy.

The wake will take place today, Friday, July 18, from 12 noon to 10 pm – all are welcome.

Funeral Service will be held in the Presbyterian Church, Dunfanaghy, F92 RR44 on Saturday, July 19 at 10.30 am.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Followed by private cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan (H12 RF78) at 4pm – family only, please.

Patrick (Pat) Hartigan, Bundoran, Limerick and Leitrim

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) Hartigan (Sargent Retd 28 Inf Bn), of West End, Bundoran and formerly of Clounleharde, Ballyhahill, Co Limerick and Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

Mr Hartigan passed away peacefully in the excellent care of all at Flannery’s Nursing Home, Abbeynockmoy, Tuam, Co Galway on Thursday, July 17.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, sisters Bridie, Nancy, and Kathleen, and his granddaughter Sharon.

He is deeply mourned by his brother John, his stepchildren Siobhán, Barry, and Seán, his grandchildren, 15 nieces, 20 nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

Reposing at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran (F94E92F) on Friday, July 18 from 5pm to 8pm. All welcome.
Removal from the funeral home at 10.40am on Saturday, July 19 to arrive at the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

Removal afterwards to The Abbey Cemetery, Rossnowlagh Rd, Ballyshannon for burial service.

Charles Bonner, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Charles Bonner, Donegal Street, Ballybofey.

Mr Bonner passed away peacefully after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family in Letterkenny University Hospital, on Thursday, July 17.

Beloved husband of Rosemary, much loved father to Kathleen, Francis (Patricia), Joseph (Barbara), Charles, Breda (Mark), Thomas (Amanda) Donal (Deborah), Dermot (Donna) and the late Geraldine (Pat), cherished brother of the late Willie, Sally, Kathleen, Joe, Anne, Jim and Patrick.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his loving wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren including the late Robert, nephews, nieces, brother in law, sisters in law extended family and many friends.

Remains reposing at Mc Cool’s Funeral Home, Ballybofey on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 from 3pm concluding with rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, July 20 at 10.30 am, for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.

Interment in Drumboe cemetery.

Paddy McDonald, Quigley’s Point

The death has occurred of Paddy McDonald, Paddy’s Corner, Three Tree’s, Quigley’s Point.

Mr McDonald passed away suddenly at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by his parents Bridie and Pat McDonald.

Much loved husband of Bridgeen and loving father of Kai (Ellie).

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers and sister, Michael, Tommy (Marie), David (Bernadine), Rose (Frank), James (Jean), nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Paddy’s remains will repose his home at Three Tree’s, Quigley’s Point, where everyone is welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Saturday, July 19 at 10.30am for 11am funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Muff, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Matt Sherlock, Wicklow, Dublin and Kilmacrennan

The death has occurred of Matt Sherlock, of Eden Gate, Delgany, Wicklow, and fotrmerly of Clontarf, Dublin and Kilmacrennan.

Mr Sherlock passed away peacefully in the loving care of the wonderful staff at Cedar Ward, St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

He is predeceased by his son Andrew.

Remembered with love by his devoted family, wife Muriel (née Irwin), sons Matthew and David, sister Anne Sherlock, daughter-in-law Rebecca, grandchildren Harvey, Lexie and Nicole, extended family and wide circle of friends including his four legged pal Ylva.

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, July 19 at 10am in St Patrick’s Church, Kilquade after which Matt will be laid to rest with his beloved son Andrew in Priest Newtown Cemetery, Kilquade.

John (Hugo) Strain, Artane, Dublin and Kilmacrennan

The death has occurred of John (Hugo) Strain, Artane, Dublin and formerly of Kilmacrennan.

Mr Strain passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of St Francis Hospital, Raheny.

He is predeceased by his sister Iris.

John will be very sadly missed by his beloved wife Nancy, children John and Sinead, grandchildren Dylan and Hannah, daughter-in-law Gill, Sinead’s partner Gordon, beloved Sherlock family, the Strain and McCafferty families, Quinlan’s, McGreal’s, Mahon’s and Wood families, nephews, nieces, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing in his residence on Friday, July 18 from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of St. Brendan, Coolock Village, arriving for funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery at 1pm.

Joseph (Joe) McGinley, Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) McGinley, Faugher, Glencolmcille.

Mr McGinley passed away peacefully at Donegal Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 16.

Predeceased by his father John Teague, his mother Catherine and brother Paul, sadly missed by his loving family, John (Liz), Marie, Sadie, Kathleen, Bríd, Michael (Maura), Jamie, (Anna), Connie (Noreen), Evelyn and Annie, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass on Friday, July 18 at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brendan McHugh, Portnoo and Rathfarnham, Dublin

The death has occurred of Brendan McHugh, formerly of Rathfarnham, Dublin and Lough Doon, Portnoo.

Mr McHugh passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family who will be forever grateful for the exceptional care given to Brendan by all of the staff in St Michael’s Ward, Anna Gaynor House, Our Lady’s Hospice.

Predeceased by his sister Bernadette and his brothers Tom, Frank, Josie, John, Vincent, Martin and Gerald.

Brendan was a loving husband to Ann and cherished father to Adrian and Shane, daughters in-law Mariko and Maggie, loving grandad to Kai and Bonnie, brothers Kevin and Willie, sisters Marie, Theresa and Noreen, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

His remains will be reposing at his home residence in Rathfarnham Saturday evening from 5pm.

Reposing at Shovlins Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, Donegal on Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral from there on Monday morning travelling via Lough Doon to St Conal’s Church, Kilclooney for 11am requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Anne Weir (née Herron), Hill of Down, Enfield, Meath and formerly of Edergole, Ardara.

Ms Weir passed away peacefully in the excellent care of the nurses and staff of St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, deeply regretted by her brother Paddy, sister in law Bríd, brother in law Donal Gallagher, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and friends.

Damien O’Brien, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Damien O’Brien, Huntington Beach, California and formerly Stoneybatter, Killygordon.

Mr O’Brien passed away suddenly and tragically on Sunday, July 6.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, Michelle, (nee O’Connor), adoring sons Oscar and Luke, his parents Patricia and Bernard, parents-in-law, Pat and Patricia O’Connor (Glenfin), sisters Colleen and Róisin, brothers Stephen and Bernard, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, partners, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, colleagues and wide circle of friends.

Damien’s requiem Mass will take place on Friday, July 18, at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, Killygordon, F93 W2C2, with burial afterwards in Cill Mhuire Cemetery, Glenfin.

A shuttle bus will be in operation from Lafferty’s Multi Crete yard to the wake house.

Joe O’Donnell, Jersey and Gortahork

The death has occurred of Joe O’Donnell, St Helier, Jersey and formerly of Ardsmore, Gortahork.

Mr O’Donnell passed away suddenly on Friday, June 28.

Predeceased by his loving parents Bernard and Gracie O’Donnell.

Sadly missed by his brothers David McNally and David O’Donnell, sisters Julie and Marianne O’Donnell, his nieces and nephews, Fionn, Naincí, Gracie, Úna, Sally, Maureen, Daphne and Oscar, brother and sister in laws, Brian, John and Abi, extended family, neighbours, work colleagues and a wide circle of friends in Jersey and Donegal.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
