Sr Kathleen Gallagher, Falcarragh

The death took place on Friday of Sr Kathleen (Philomena) Gallagher, Daughter of Charity of St Vincent de Paul and late of Derryreel, Falcarragh.

She died eacefully in the loving care and presence of the Sisters and staff of the Daughters of Charity, Mount Prospect Avenue, Clontarf. 

Predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Bridget Gallagher, her sister Gracie (Seamus), her niece Marie, and grandnephew Brian. 

Deeply regretted by her sisters, Anne (Willie deceased), Rosie (Willie deceased), and Bridget (Joe deceased), brothers, Frank and Mary, James and Christine, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Community of the Daughters of Charity extended family, relatives, and friends. 

Reposing at St Catherine’s Provincial House, Blackrock, (A94P2K3) from 3.30pm on Sunday with prayers at 5pm.

Reposing at her brother Frank’s home Derryreel, Falcarragh F92 WR82 on Monday from 7pm to 10 pm and Tuesday from 12 noon to 9pm. 

Rosary at 9pm both nights, followed by burial at 11 am Mass on Wednesday, October 1.

Doddy McGee, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has taken place of Doddy McGee Derryreel, Falcarragh, surrounded by his loving family. 

Predeceased by his mother, Annie and cousin, Michael McGee. 

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Mary, daughters, Mary B (Éamonn), Rosanne (Eamonn) and Margaret (Brian), grandchildren, Eamonn, Shaun, Caoimhe and Odhrán and a wide circle of family and friends.  

Remains reposing at his late residence in Derryreel, Falcarragh on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm with rosary both nights at 9pm. 

Family time on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 1pm in St Finian’s Church, Falcarragh F92 N6Y9 with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Joe McAuley, Strabane and Leitirmacaward

The death took place on Thursday at his home of Joe McAuley, 7 Patrick Street, Strabane and formerly of Leitirmacaward.

Beloved husband of Breige, much loved father of Joseph, Brian, Vincent, Maeve, Kieran, Rosemary, Jim, Dermot, Margaret, Michael and Judy and brother of Patsy, Nora

and the late Mary, Sadie, Anna, Leo, Tony, Michael and Jim.

Reposing at Quigley`s Funeral Home, Strabane on on Friday from 7-8pm.

Funeral leaving the funeral home on Saturday at 7pm to the Sacred Heart Church, Derry Road, Strabane.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sister and family circle.

Ailis Malone, Offaly and Stranorlar

The death has taken place of Ailis Mairead Malone (née McMullin), Coolfin, Banagher, Co. Offaly and formerly of Camas, Washington, USA and Stranorlar.

Ailis died peacefully on Friday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband, David, her parents, Carmel and Vincent, brothers, Ernan and Eunan, sisters, Marie and Patricia.
She will be forever remembered by her loving daughters and sons, Petria, Kevin, Sean and Steven, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. 

Reposing at her home Coolfin, Banagher, Co. Offaly (R42 CX26) on Sunday, from 3pm until 5pm. 

Removal on Monday from her home to St. Rynagh’s Church, Banagher arriving for Mass at 11am. Private cremation afterwards. Her ashes will rest alongside her husband at Camas Cemetery, Camas, WA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations if desired, may be made to the Irish Cancer Society Palliative Care Night Nursing Service, whose care and support were invaluable to Ailis and to her family.

John Cunningham, Killybegs

The sudden death has occurred of John Bernard Cunningham, 73 Emerald Drive, Killybegs and formerly of Teelin, Carrick.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Roseanne, daughter, Davina, brothers, Con and Paddy, sister, Ann, extended family, and friends.

Remains reposing at McBrearty’s Funeral Home, Killybegs, this evening, Friday, from 6pm-8pm and on Saturday from 2pm-6pm.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Claire Logue, Glasgow and Glenvar

The death has taken place in Glasgow of Claire Logue.

Predeceased by her sister, Ann Marie, mother, Bernadette; uncle, John and aunt, Peggy.

Missed by her daughter, Louise, father, Patsy, uncle, Francie (Glenvar), Liam (Glenvar), aunts, Marjorie Callaghan (Donegal), Maryrose Sheridan (Rathmullan), Ellen Troop (England) and Rita (Dublin).

Funeral mass will take place in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, Glenvar on Saturday, September 27 at 10am with burial of ashes afterwards in Glenvar cemetery.

Jack McLaughlin, Buncrana

The death has taken place in Donegal Hospice of Jack McLaughlin (Strain), Munagh, Buncrana, F93 K0F5.

Heartbroken by his passing are his loving wife Eileen, sons and daughters Denis, John (Catherine), Helena (Mick), Philip (Bridget), Kathy (Tom) and Annette (Danny), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deeply saddened are his siblings, Kathleen, Rosemary, Liam, Hughie, Margaret, Paddy and Denis; brothers and sisters-in-law, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Jack will be reposing at his home where all are welcome to come and pay their respects.

Removal from there on Saturday morning, September 27 at 10.15am going to Star of the Sea, Desertegney for requiem Mass at 11am with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Larry Gallagher, Ardara

The death took place on Thursday of Larry Gallagher, Crannogbois, Loughros Point, Ardara.

He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and his dear friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by his father, Paddy, mother, Mary Ellen, sister, Martina and brothers-in-law, Lander and Pat.

Sadly missed by his loving sisters, Geraldine, Catherine (Cormac), Diane, Teresa (Brendan), nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose at his residence, F94PY16, on Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 10pm.  

Funeral from there on Sunday morning to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Paddy McGinley, Letterkenny and Falcarragh

The death has occurred of Paddy McGinley, Dooballagh, Letterkenny and formerly from Falcarragh.

Mr McGinley passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Thursday, September 25.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Bridie and son Danny, extended family and friends.

Paddy’s remains will be reposing at The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 SE35, on Friday, September 26, from 5pm until 8pm.

Funeral leaving his late residence at Dooballagh, Letterkenny on Saturday, September 27 at 10.15am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny for 11am requiem Mass which can be viewed on the parish YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657.

Interment afterwards in New Leck Cemetery, Letterkenny.

Neil McDaid, Kilmacrennan and Nottingham

The death has occurred of Neil McDaid, Skerry, Kilmacrennan.

Mr McDaid passed away in Nottingham, England.

Deeply regretted by his brothers James and Hugh, sisters Kathleen and Susan, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Neil and Mary, brother Patrick and sisters Bridget, Sarah and Mary Ellen.

Reposing at the residence of his brother Hugh McDaid, Skerry, Kilmacrennan, F92 YD32 on Saturday, September 27 from 11am.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, September 28 at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Kilmacrennan.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick John Laverty, Galway and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Patrick John Laverty, Clooniffe, Moycullen, Galway and formerly Stranorlar.

Mr Laverty passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 24.

Sadly and deeply mourned and by his wife Mary (Mai) and will be forever missed by his loving daughters Helen and Ann-Marie .

He was the cherished brother of Maureen and adored grandfather of Daniel, Aislinn and Ciarán. Pat will be fondly remembered by the extended Laverty and Curran family, neighbours and many friends in both Donegal and Galway.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Pat at St. Mary’s Church, Claddagh on arrival at 11 am Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Forthill cemetery, Lough Atalia Road.

Eileen Donnelly, Muff

The death has occurred of Eileen Donnelly (née Woods), Warrenview Manor, Muff and Oakland Park, Dundalk, Co Louth.

Ms Donnelly passed away peacefully in Carndonagh Community Hospital on Thursday, September 25.

Pre-deceased by her loving husband Peter, daughter Anne, grandson Ronan, and son-in-law David.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters Cecilia, Marie and Ursula, son-in-law Anthony and fondly loved by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neighbours and friends.

Eileen’s remains will repose at her late residence.

All are welcome to pay their respects from 11am to 10pm on both Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27.

Eileen’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Muff (F93 TF24) on Sunday, September 28 at 11.30am.

Burial afterwards in Brid-a-Crin Cemetery, Dundalk (A91 W308).

 

Evelyn Ruddy, Gleneely

The death has taken place at her home of Evelyn Ruddy, Kindroyhead, Gleneely, F93 K850.

Predeceased by her husband, John and her son, Dermot.

Much loved mother of John G (Breda), Eileen (Martin), Mickey (Maureen), Charlie (Patricia), Dee, Oliver (Michelle).

Devoted granny of Jonathan, Claire, Declan, Niamh, Daragh, Conor, Owen, Colin, Lila, Ashley, Chloe, Kaitlyn, John, Laura, Alanna, Michaela and great-grandchildren.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister, Nancy (Boston), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Evelyn’s remains will repose at her home.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bocan, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
