Brigid McGinty, London and Glencolmcille  

Joseph Houston, Cloghan 

Pádraig O Boyle, Bunbeg

The death has taken place at his home of Pádraig O Boyle, Knockastolar, Bunbeg.

Predeceased by his baby sister Louise.

Sadly missed by his parents Vincent and Bella, his sister Katie and her husband Philipp, his brothers, Pól and Seán and extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing at his home until 8pm on Friday and on Saturday from 11am to 8pm. Rosary both nights at 8pm.

House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, January 5 at 1pm in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

James Harty,  Ballyshannon and Waterford

The death has occurred of James (Jamie) Harty. Newport, South Wales. 

He passed away peacefully after a short illness on h December 11, aged 60 years. 

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Claire, née Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon.

Missed and cherished by his sisters Maggie, Sue and Anna, mother-in-law Teresa Dolan, The Knather, Ballyshannon and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and all his friends. 

Requiem Mass to take place on Thursday, January 9 at 1.30pm at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Newport, South Wales followed by cremation at Langstone Vale Crematorium at 3pm. 

A Mass will be offered for Jamie in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon at a later date. 

Family flowers only please.

Declan Ward, Dungloe

The sudden passing occurred on Wednesday, January 1 of Declan Ward, Tubberkeen, Dungloe, at the age of 41. 

Declan will be forever loved and cherished by his beloved children, Caoimhe, Saoirse and Ché, their mother Melissa, and his devoted parents Noreen and Charlie. 

He is deeply mourned by his brother Gavin, sister-in-law Jordanna, as well as his nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many close friends. 

Declan’s kind and loving nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a devoted father, son, and brother, and his loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends. 

His remains will repose in McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe on Friday, from 2pm until rosary at 8pm. 

His remains will repose at his home in Tubberkeen on Saturday with the house strictly private please for family only and also private on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in St Crona’s Church, Dungloe with interment in Maghery Cemetery.

Mary Thomas, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Mary Thomas (née Hegarty), Clar, Donegal Town, peacefully in Beaumont University Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by her parents Dessie and Peggy and her brothers Gerry and Aidan.

Sadly missed by her husband Aidan, sons Pauric (Maria) Ruarí (Christina)and Ross, her brother, John (Grace) and sisters, Fidelma (Vernon), Brona (Tature) and grandchildren, nephews and nieces and extended family.

Mary’s remains will repose at Tír Conaill Funeral Home, Donegal Town, from 1pm until 7.30pm on Saturday with removal to St Mary’s Church, Killymard for 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Killymard with burial in Clar graveyard immediately afterwards.

Family flowers only with donations in lieu to Solace Cancer Centre, Donegal Town c/o any family member or Faulkner Undertakers.

Hugo Melly,  Ardara

The death has taken place of Hugo Melly, Portnoo Rd, Ardara, peacefully at Dungloe Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents John and Grace, his brothers Anthony, Sean and Conal. Hugo will be forever missed by his loving wife Ann, daughter Marie (Eddie), sons Stephen (Joanne) and Peter (Arlene) and his much loved grandchildren Ella, Joel, Sarah and David. 

Sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and all his relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at his residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning at 11.30am to the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara for 12 noon requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to Dungloe Community Hospital c/o any family member.

John Cooper, Buncrana

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of John Cooper (Sean), 5 Knockalla Drive, Buncrana.

John was the father of Tommy, Christine, Shauna, Jordan and Reuben, son of the late Thomas and Annie Cooper. 

Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Buncrana from 2pm and 7pm on Friday and Saturday.

Removal from there on Sunday at 10am  going to Lakelands Crematorium for cremation at 1pm.

Norman Beattie, Raphoe

The peaceful death has taken place at Brindley Manor Nursing Home, Convoy of Norman Beattie, McBrideStreet, Raphoe. 

Predeceased by his father Charlie, mother Jeannie, brother Ronald and sister-in-law Helen. Norman will be lovingly remembered by his niece Michelle Johnston, her husband Adrian and family and also his nephew David.

Remains reposing at his residence. Removal from there on Sunday at 1.45pm for 2pm funeral service in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Raphoe followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Brindley Manor Nursing Home, Convoy c/o any family member.

Owen Kelly, Buncrana

The peaceful death has occurred at Lower Illies, Ballymagan, Buncrana of Owen Kelly, husband of the late Anna and loving father of Mary (Sean) Bernadette (Gerard) Brian (Noreen).

Owen will be sadly missed by his son, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends and all who knew him.

Remains reposing at his late residence at Lower Illies.

Funeral from there on Sunday leaving at 10am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mick McGettigan, Carrigart

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mick McGettigan (Wee Mick), Glenree, Carrigart.

Predeceased by his wife Madge, survived by his sons Michael and Patrick, daughters Bridie, Ann, Mary and Margaret, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence.

Funeral from there on Saturday going to the Church of St John the Baptist for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Brigid McGinty, London and Glencolmcille

The sudden death has taken place of Brigid (Breda) McGinty (née Cunnea), Hammersmith, London and formerly of Cashel, Glencolmcille.

Brigid was the beloved wife of Seamus and much loved mother of Marie, Jenny and James, and grandmother to Emmet.

Greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral details in London to be confirmed.  

 

Joseph Houston, Cloghan and England

The death has occurred of Joseph Houston, Lettershanbo, Cloghan and formerly Lettershanbo, Cloghan. 

He died peacefully at his home in Birmingham, England in his 100th year. 

Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved father to Angela, (James) Caroline (Craig) and John (Helen). 

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces in Ireland and England, (Mc Cool family, Hone family, Houston family) extended family and friends. 

Joe’s Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, January 13 at 11am in the Church of St. Joseph and St. Helen, Kings Norton, with interment in St. Nicholas Churchyard, Kings Norton. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.youtube.com/@ssjosephandhelen.
